For a thread about this problem:
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=271953
Hmmm, interesting that FW somehow fixes the issue... -
Quote:This is pretty much how I feel about it. But, since the proverbial cat and whatnot, I would prefer that SOME pieces remain only availble to NPCs so that they retain a semblance of uniqueness. In this case, for me, it's the hat and the belt... but the hat moreso since it is one of the things that existed even before the re-vamp as a hallmark of the CoT... the belt is more a NEW hallmark of the CoT.You know... As much as I want the hats... I totally understand that and actually agree... However, I feel that way about all of the NPC pieces, so it makes me wonder why we're getting any. I'd rather just get pieces that are similar to those things (like the hats... definitely tall hats), but more generic/versatile.

See, caramel is for SEALS! Butterscotch is WAAAAAY better with penguins, brings out their natural sweetness better.

Why would the confuse NOT "follow" him? Is it not a power of the Avatar itself?
-
I want the gauntlets, and the snakeskin tights... nothing else.
Also, I hope the tall hats NEVER become available. To me, those are just too signature to be given to everyone. -
Quote:Then that mission is poorly designed, and needs to be reworked... and/or changes to the specific set of powers that makes that possible. You can PL to 50 in less than a day with a regular mission, so that statement is invalid.
As much as I hate to agree with GG, that kinda thing is NOT nor will it ever be, in the "spirit" of the game. (Note, I am purposely NOT talking about whether those things are or are not exploits, or if farming is wrong or not... just the way the game was intended.) -

Quote:Sam... are there shades of your opinion? It seems your "needle" for that goes from 0 to "abomination" a bit quicker than I would expect.I get that the huge ungainly coins are a good way to attract the short-span attention of new players' FPS/ADHD-addled minds (as well as a good way to demonstrate utter contempt for said new players, but I digress), and I appreciate the effort, but I honestly don't see a reason why we can't turn those abominations of graphical design off just the same. They throw a shadow, for cripe's sake!
Please let me turn them off. They're very ugly and I know who my contacts are without them.
Seriously though, I am not a big fan of the floaty-contact-thingies either... but what annoys me most is the unintuitive color scheme. -

Periods go inside the quotation marks, Agge. Tsk tsk!
(See, you can learn lots of English 'round these parts.)

Quote:This is never going to happen if the Devs are smart. The second they lay one down, everyone will create their farms within an inch of that line... and theoretically, the Devs will have not latitude to do anything. And if they do, the players will cry foul (and rightfully so).If we had a Dev step in and actually say what THEY thought was fair we would have a guideline.
Quote:Otherwise we have to guess at some vague and threatening big brother standing over us with a stick to penalize us. -
What he said.
Real life examples of this are doomed to fail... we can't do in the real world what comics can. Also, any 'evidence' you gather would be inadmissable due to it being arrived at illegally. So, the only justice that will be meted out would be that against the vigilante clandestine organization. -
Quote:Worth a shot, if nothing else.Shutting the game client down and restarting seems to be somehow connected for me to all these issues. Wondering if the "quit to desktop" route of leaving the game is at least in part a culprit. Been meaning to break habit as a test and log out to character select next time I go to quit then backing out from there and then quitting the game from the login screen instead. Just to see.

Yeah, I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't the ONLY one seeing this happen. My friend plays all of his characters with the default UI colors, so he would never notice this issue.
I will be filing a /bug when I get home... and though I am tempted to do a /petition as well to open up some dialogue, there really isn't anything a GM can do, I don't think. Seems like a code problem to me. -
Don't feel too bad, before I knew that option existed I had the same problem and was rather annoyed about it.
Now that I know it's there? I wish that they made the option more obvious... perhaps a link to "E-Mail Options" from the actual E-Mail tab. -
Thanks for putting this up! This guide was pivotal in my succesful run on Justice yesterday morning. Not only was it my first time leading, but it was also my first run of the Trial ever!! Our League had a few people on it that knew what was up, but the vast majority were running it for their first times.
The map helped a ton, also... so thanks to Tsumiju also! -
Has anyone else noticed an issue in which the UI changes back to the default colors (red for Villains, blue for Heroes and grey for Praets) everytime you log-in regardless of what you set it at when you last logged out?
This seems to have only cropped up after the most recent patch and it bugs me quite a bit since I set the color to grey on ALL of my characters. -
Quote:I have actually had the reverse experience on the servers on which I play. There have never been a shortage, for me, of ANY of the mobs for the Kill X missions on EITHER side (blue/red). In fact, they sometimes re-spawn too FAST. I think when the Devs turned down the spawn speed, they did it just about perfect.I am not sure why this wasnt fixed in beta but the spawns for the arachnos mobs with the capes in atlas park do not spawn fast enough. Same thing for the kill skulls missions. Next week when we have all these new players trying to do these quests there will not be enough mobs spawning to do this in a timely manner. You pretty much have to instance hop just to find enough mobs to kill without this taking an hour to do. Now at the same time its not a good idea to have the mobs to instantly respawn but more so have just more spawns just added to the area to make this less of an issue. Or tweak it so more of the arachnos mobs with the capes to show up and more skullz spawn points too.

Quote:While I am not sure how big of a fan I am of the new CoT look... it bothers me that there are holdouts that make the costumery look inconsistant.No. I'm glad there's still some holdouts from the old look. I hope Baron Zoria and Libri Vermis have kept their original appearance as well.
I agree with the OP: Change all of the CoT so they have a unified look. -

Don't know what you are talking about, Sapphic, ALL high-heels look absurd to me.

Those names persisted after CoV... I remember them as that and didn't start playing until around i9...
