I never understood the idea of an "open" letter on the forums... aren't ALL posts open? How do you post a "closed" letter here?
-
Gotta agree there! I really wish all non-repeatables would just be taken out of the store for you once they are purchased... period.

Quote:And that, is why you did it in the first place... much like Bill's example above with models and such. But I did enjoy building it, the first time, and I loved the reaction I got from my friends when they saw the finished product and checked it out.
For me, I play this game to get away from work, and chores, and daily tasks... so if something is unfun, I don't do it here. My argument isn't that NO work can be fun, just that work in a video game, is sorta contradictory to the goal. -

I like Legacy Chain, Vanguard, Midnight Club, Wyvern, and maybe PPD for Patron options... as far as Hero Corp? They don't DO anything, or so it seems. And Longbow is utterly too present as it is, and would not really be able to offer exciting powers we don't already have... most of them use guns.

Quote:I think it is clear that that is a special case. It is essentially like poetic inversion when being used in a slogan or the like.Perhaps the best known split infinitive is from the opening credits of Star Trek. "To boldly go where no man has gone before" should, according to outdated rules, be "to go boldly where no man has gone before." The first version definitely appeals more to me.
In other cases? Well, I am sure not going to point out to someone in in-game chat that they have split an infinitive, or have a dangling preposition. But I will likely notice, especially that last one. I have grown to love the word "which," it allows me to fix so many sentences that are befouled by "that" and end in a "with" or "to." -
Quote:Actually, a very similar issue is what got Power Customization (in part) held up in the past... figuring out how to get continuing effects that play on an enemy character (i.e. the actual graphics that appear on an enemy when a power effects them) to be colored properly. Obviously, that got squared away. As such, not sure just how hard or easy this would be (standard code rant, blah blah blah). It's probably because Interface abilities are procs rather than standard powers... and furthermore they don't actually proc an effect on the target, they grant the target a self damage / self debuff power that then triggers. So the target is actually the one doing the effect, not you... it might take code changes to get custom color info passed along to the power that actually creates the effect.
However, I really don't think those types of effects SHOULD be changeable. I mean, they all have a consistant look because they all come from the same source... like Kheldian powers. -

I will NEVER use that abbreviation... I just hate it for some reason. I will, however, say "yer" to replace both "you're" and "your." I am unsure as to why I like that one, maybe because it is pronounced the same. To me, "ur" should be pronounced as "ür."
Quote:ull find alot of teh time in game/genral chat etc ill use txtspeak like ur n tht lack of , . etc its not cos im lzy but more fact im typing as im doin smthg else ingame etc -
You can't "dye" any of the powers in this game... as they are not garments.
-
I don't believe that is 100% accurate. IIRC, for any Crafting Badge with an odd number of crafts required, half need to be of each level, and the one that is left-over can be of EITHER level. So, in your example, 6 must be level 15 and 6 must be level 20, the 13th craft can be of 15 or 20. The thing is, crafting an additional item of the lower level is cheaper, and so most tables and such include the extra one on that side to simplify.

Yeppers, now we just need two more suggestion to round out the Pool.
Wyvern and Legacy Chain? Longbow?
And who would be the contacts for the missions associated with these pools? Ideally, they should be high profile heroes to mirror the Villain ones.
Also, there is a slight issue with using Vanguard as a Hero Patron Pool: Vanguarad is a co-op group and as such, should allow Villains to earn those powers as well. -

Today is oct1st my billing cycle is the first of each month yet no 400points and no reward token...why?
How about: "My billing cycle for each month begins on the 1st. Since it is now October 1st, I thought that I would recieve my allottment of 400 Paragon Points today as well as my Reward Token. I did not. Should I have recieved them today, or is something else going on? If I should have, can they be awarded to me?"
I will, however, freely admit that Paragon Studios has done a poor job in explaining to us how this system is supposed to work so that we know when it is broken and when it is working as intended. -
Quote:No thank you, I will take my own advice and not do things in-game I wouldn't enjoy.Try building a Castle from scratch. Damn thing took 3005 items to build and had three levels, so YES it was a lot of work, but it was a damn fine accomplishment when it was finished. Actually instead of calling it work, I prefer to think of it as a labor of love.
See how that works?
Quote:My only regret is that I lost it during a base crash and had to rebuild the whole base from scratch. Least I still have the Pictures. -
Quote:Well, I guess I missed that bit. Of course, once folks get to ranting and arguments about just how sarcasm is or isn't noticed... I tend to move from reading posts, to skimming.Yeah huh.
(I disagree with the clumsy bit, though. I rather like the way the tailor and the store tie together.)
Also, I really think the Tailor option is BETTER than the store. You can just browse for all the great big orange lock symbols and only look at the pieces you don't have. Very obvious, rather efficient, and fast. -
Before I switched to my newer computer, I got these errors a fair bit. It is DEFINITELY an issue with the amount of memory availble to the game, and NOT an issue with the Piggs themselves.
Unfortunately, I think the only solution is to buy more memory, or log out frequently to clear stuff out as /unloadgfx never seemed to work for me to lessen the issue. -
Yeah, this is about the place where I fail to be able to connect to your logic. This is a game. To me, if ANYTHING in it can be described as "work" and/or "hard work" then you are most assuredly doing something wrong. So, unsurprisingly, I don't really understand the issue. I have a few characters who are IO-ed... but it was done over a long period of time, and didn't require me to do any "work." It required some patience, and a bit of research, but I find that learning about the game is fun... so I didn't mind. Even marketing is vaguely entertaining.
So, I guess what I am trying to say, is that if you find something in this game unfun... don't do it! Much like the idea not to touch something that hurts. -

I see no one has mentioned the fact that if you go to the Character Creator instead of the store, you can see ALL of the costume pieces, life-size and ON a character, and rotate, and re-color all day long. And then, you can buy them right there too!
Or, if you look through and find you like them all, go back to the store and buy the bundle...
Problem SOLVED! -
Quote:Clarify that with support and see what happens.so that means on Oct. 1 i should be getting 400 points and a reward token and I didn't!
If you ask me, this whole VIP Points thing was explained poorly to us, because there are a TON of questions about this process. -
You have to complete the Patron Arc, to unlock Patron Power Pools, same as all Villains have to. It has been unfair from the start that Heroes get their Epics so easily.

Holy WOW... they were always big, but NEVER GM size big!
