Ick... the dude is associated with The Last Stand? I am instantly less excited. That flick killed what woulda been a good trilogy otherwise.

Quote:I think that is the gist of it... yeah. So, what you're saying is you're shutting down the servers in a year, did I read that right?
Honestly though, if I had to guess, it got started like any rumor. Someone mentioned that the Wiki is in a read-only state and upgrades and some downtime is going on and someone else hears half of it, someone else asks I wonder if it'll be around in a few years, someone else conflates the question as fact, etc... -
This, 1,000 times this!
It amazes me that you are taking a day off of work to do something you don't get paid for! Nothing says dedication than something like that! I do have to say that I really need my WikiEditing fix. I am jonesing here. -

I will be a VIP and loyal to this game until one of the following occurs:
- I am put into a situation where continuing to pay is not financially viable.
- The Devs alter their outlook on the game in such a way that it becomes clear to me that they have stopped listening and don't care about their players: just the money.

There is something about that sorta sideways smirk that gets me. Not quite sure what you are going for in the background... but its cool!

I want to add, that while I enjoy more options for powers in this game, it is unlikely that "Tech" options for the Incarnate powers are ever added due solely to the fact that once you begin down the path of the Incarnate you are NOT just Tech or Natural Origin anymore... you are at least PART Magic/Incarnate Origin too. I am not sure how I feel about that personally, but that is what is currently represented.

You play on Justice... I saw most of those names in my search last night when trying to form an ITF.

I have to ask... you can solo AV's and GM's WHAT? What can they possibly own that you can solo?
(Just so no one gets lost, this post is in re: to the errant apostrophes.) -
There are no completion badges for the FW arcs.

Ten new Incarnate power trees have been added! There are four new trees in Alpha and Interface, and one new tree in Destiny and Judgement.
Alpha- Vigor Boost: This alpha tree focuses on boosting Healing, and secondarily boosts Accuracy and Endurance Reduction. The radial branch also boosts Fear, Sleep, or Confuse effects.
- Agility Boost: This alpha tree focuses on boosting Endurance Modification, and secondarily boosts Defense and Recharge rate. The radial branch also boosts run speed, fly speed, and jump distance.
- Intuition Boost: This alpha tree focuses on boosting Hold effects, and secondarily boosts Defense Debuffs and Range. The radial branch also boosts Damage, Slow effects, and To Hit Debuffs.
- Resilient Boost: This alpha tree focuses on boosting Resistance, and secondarily boosts Immobilize effects and Taunt durations. The radial branch also buffs Intangibility and Stun effects, and To Hit buffs.
- Cognitive Interface: This interface tree adds a chance to confuse targets of your attacks for approximately 2 seconds. The core branch increases the chance to confuse targets, while the radial branch adds a chance for a minor Psionic damage over time (DoT) effect.
- Degenerative Interface: This interface tree adds a chance to debuff a target's maximum HP when you attack. The core branch increases the chance for the HP debuff to occur, while the radial branch adds a chance for a minor Toxic damage over time (DoT) effect.
- Preemptive Interface: This interface tree adds a chance for your attacks to include an additional Endurance damage over time (DoT) effect. The core branch increases the chance of Endurance drain, while the radial branch adds a chance for an additional moderate Energy damage over time (DoT) effect.
- Spectral Interface: This interface tree adds a chance to immobilize targets of your attacks for approximately 2 seconds. The core branch increases the chance to immobilize targets, while the radial branch adds a chance for an additional moderate Negative damage over time (DoT) effect.
- Vorpal Judgement: You teleport and kick all enemies you successfully hit in a cone in front of you for heavy smashing damage.
- The core branch adds a chance to inflict a lethal DoT on all targets struck. Using the radial branch version of the power grants you a defense bonus during and after the attack due to your quick movement.
- Incandescent Invocation/Epiphany: This location-targeted utility Destiny power brings Assemble the Team functionality to an entire League and combines that with a potent buff to healing received and a targeted area of effect (AoE) foe Knockback and Stun. Its use creates a small safe zone in which your group can regroup, rebuff, and get back into the fight when it would otherwise wipe.
- The core tree provides even more amplified healing on all targets. Using the radial tree provides additional utility in stealth radius, perception, and move speed boosts, or even short-term phase shift for your entire league.

Wow! I have seen your posts, Henri, all over the place, but it wasn't until I saw your avatar change and a post somewhere else with the full image that I found out you had artistic talent (outside of costuming that is).
I am blown away by some of the pieces in here!
Ummm... are you by chance in need of images of characters... for ummm... reference? (Hint hint.) Especially those with a story all their own so you can test yourself on interpretting that into a drawing as has been happening lately? -
Gotta throw my log on the fire for the idea that "powersets shouldn't be AT-exclusive."
Also, I am not that stoked about any of the specific ideas posted here. Scythes (no matter what other media might say) are a very impractical weapon and not one that really fits Stalkers any better than does the idea of a giant Sword/Weapon does.
I guess I just don't understand why three very similar new sets should be made... when it looks like Stalkers might eventually get TW anyway, and when Staff Fighting is already going to be in the game soon enough. And besides the fact that ENTIRELY too many melee sets have been made recently... and since ATs that use melee already have the most possible combinations, that seems truly silly to me. There are many other ATs that need new powersets first. Melee has had its time, give it a rest until 2 or 3 Dominator sets have been created! -
First, could you, by chance, be a little more vague in this suggestion? I honestly have no idea what half those things would mean. SG Incarnates? What would that even be?
Quote:But also this.er... okay.... you already have more stuff open up as you get more prestige, because you earn it, so I can't say I'm quite sure where you're going there. Honestly, I'd rather any SG "stuff" they add be open, not requiring an "SG level" or anything.
As far as "SG Incarnates," "SG IOs" and the like - honestly, I'd rather not punish people who aren't part of an SG or are part of smaller SGs. -
Hmmm, you said there wasn't a cool screenshots thread? Granted, it HAS been decidedly inactive for some time now.

Quote:I have played all of these sets at least a bit... and now that I think I understand the roles in a Fantasy game abit better...Dual Pistol (Blaster, Corruptor, Defender-2)
Electric Control (Dominators)
Kinetic Melee (Brute, Scrapper, Stalker, Tank-2)
Electric Control:
I played an Elec/Psi Dominator... and I love him! Electirc Control gives you an excellent collection of powers that, as control sets go, are pretty unique. A placeable sleep AoE, a chaining knockdown power, etc. And then with Psionic Assault, you have a good mix of powers that put you in melee as well as at range. All and all, this sounds a bit like a Bard without any buffing powers... but if you want those, you could dip into the Leadership pool for some pretty decent AoE team buffs.
Dual Pistols:
I have had two different characters that used DP, and only one of them still survives. My first was a Sonic/DP Defender... and I found that I just didn't like how Sonic played as a Defender... not sure precisely what I didn't like, but the combo didn't work for me. And IIRC, there were quite a few endurance issues too.
The next one I played was a DP/Kinetics Corruptor. Now, HIM I liked a lot. He loves to be in melee where all of the various Kinetic buffs have the most impact, and since his concept as a character is so zany, it doesn't really matter to him if he dies a bit (not that I have too many issues there). Kinetics is a great set in general: heals, +Rech, +End powers and one of the best +Dmg powers there is!
That might just cover your Ranger angle, though it would definitely lack a Pet of any kind.
Kinetic Melee
This is the one set I have the least experience with, and since my character was a KM/Fire Brute, he doesn't really apply to your paradigms very well at all.
However, I have been told that KM does play really well as a Stalker since one of the powers auto-recharages the +ToHit, +Dmg power in the set, which is fantastic on a Stalker. As far as secondary, I would say go Ninjitsu, but you said in the OP you already have one of those. A pretty good alternative would be Super Reflexes.
If I understand correctly, this would seem to be the Monk/Rogue role pretty well. KM is very Tai-Chi in appearance, and SR is pretty much Rogue-like all by itself, together you would have a stealthy, hand-to-hand melee fighter. -
Quote:Hmmm, so this sounds to me like it would be a Blaster? They have range in their primary and some melee in their secondary and access to power pools for the rest?Rangers are generally a mix of melee (often dual-wielding) and bows. Sometimes they have a single powerful pet (lions and tigers and bears, oh my!). They tend to have a protector-of-the-wilderness theme and access to some light healing/buff/debuff spells and good movement speeds.
Quote:Bards are a little of everything. They generally have a bit of melee power, some spells (often focusing on illusion and crowd control), good buffs, and questionable defenses. )
Quote:Monks are your basic agile martial artist type.
Quote:Rogues are generally stalker-esque: agile, stealthy melee fighters that can be in big trouble if they don't fight on their terms. They also tend to have some utility such as disarming traps or unlocking loot chests or dungeon doors.
Man, if that is all the variability that a Fantasy game gives you, I could never imagine playing one. CoH has such diversity it isn't even funny!! -
Quote:This, in its entirety! Its definitely a Parity thing.
Currently both Heroes & Villains have access to APPs (without needing to switch sides).
Only Villains have access to PPPs without having to switch sides.
Making Hero PPPs available brings balance to both sides (imho it should have been done at the same time the APPs were opened up to Villains).
If the pools are different enough you will still have people switching sides for concept reasons.
Also Having Co-Op Patron Pools available to both sides is awesomesauce.
Kirsten, you hit a Homerun with this idea, Congrats. -

Someone posted a pretty good idea not that long ago revolving around different significant Organizations having "patron" pools, like: Vanguard, the Midnight Club, Legacy Chain, Longbow, etc.
The idea was that certain ones would be hero, and others (like VG and Midnighters) would be for both sides. I think it is a better alternative to using specific characters for hero patrons simply because there are not JUST four main significant heroes... there are far more. So creating a suite of pools that would give 4 to heroes only, and a bunch to everyone seemed like a good one to me.
Lemme see if I can find the relevant post.
