Thank you, those are so much less... eye-searing.

Quote:No, I would NOT spend Points on this because it should be free and included in an Issue Release. Period.Figured this was a question worth asking/discussing. I think its a thing that is pretty much wanted across the board, but it's becoming painfully obvious at this point that if it's not something that can't be gated behind being a VIP or cost PPs, and isn't a game balance issue, it's not going to get dev time at this point.
I guess personally, it'd depend on the price. I was pretty annoyed with the fact the Super Tailor came bundled in an add-on pack purchase, and even with the Freedom Launch, think it's still overpriced and have not purchased it yet. So the question is, would you pay? And if so, how much is the cut off point?
I'd be annoyed if pool customization came with a price tag attached, but Id honestly cough up points for it, as it's something more useful in the long run than the super tailor. My concern is it would probably wind up being segmented out into smaller portions with a bulk discount. I'd honestly probably pay 10 dollars/800 points max as a "day one purchase".

This is... absurd. The sooner a nerf can happen the better, fewer people get used to the unintended performance of a power or IO. Making the wrong results last longer just gets more people upset:
If the power is working too good, they will be mad it got nerfed because they got used to it being really good.
If it is working too poorly, folks will get madder and madder the longer it remains unfixed. -

Quote:This! THIS... so much of it. No, even more of it. Yes, yes, that's enough.Actually yes, the amount of angst this is generating is astounding. I'm not getting it at all.
No promises were broken, no release dates delayed. I'm not even getting were you or anyone else got the expectation that Staff would have released with I22. It was always going to be a weekly market item release.
Having both release in close succession in time for the 2xp is actually completely ridiculous (and both this week like the thread title suggests even more so). Why on earth would they release two buzz generating powersets right behind the launch of an issue when the buzz is still going strong? Especially since there wasn't a lack of new and reworked powersets in the issue itself. Spreading them out to release at times the momentum might be slacking is a logical thing to do.
That the sets are already finished is not a factor. There's always stuff that's already finished, and it always gets held back till the slotted release time.
Setting unrealistic expectation and then getting frothy that they aren't met when there never was any indication that they would be, is unreasonable at best. You can disappointed sure, but the reactions in this thread? Really?
Goodness, the rightness... it burns. -
I found it more difficult to find Detective Hopp in the second to last mish than finding him beforehand. Not sure if he is always located so out of the way every time.
-
Regardless of number of threads, that is super cool.

I don't think there is a reward for that arc period. Probably due to the fact that you -can- skip to the end.

The OP mentioned some issue with outdoor maps in the AE... what is he talking about?
-
My attitude on IOs also makes me considerably more wealthy when I -do- decide to IO a character... I use so little of the money I make that I always feel rich, even when all I have is somewhere in the neighborhood of 2.5-3 billion in liquid assets.

Quote:Trueness.Yes, god forbid a corporation that's out to make money tries to charge money for a product. VIPs are already getting free powers with i22. They plan from the start was to charge for Beast Mastery and Staff Fighting. They said this quite plainly, so don't act like they're pulling some kind of switch-up on us.
I have no idea why people are so up in arms about this. I am stoked for the set too... I have had a character made and waiting on Infinity for months! But I somehow never got the idea it should happen NOW or that it would or should be free to me. How did that happen, I wonder? -
-
I dunno if anyone else has this impression... but there seems to be more Lore packed into i22 then any issue in recent memory.
And.
I.
LOVE IT!!
I am almost all of the way through the DA arcs (contacts and personal stories) and it is some amazing stuff... a LOT of reveals and potential shake-ups for the future going on here. While I won't comment on the writing, because unless it is Dr. Graves bad I just don't care and fill in blanks and fix things in my own head, I really do think it moves the game in a very positive direction.
I am super excited for i23, because I have a vague feeling it will be a small issue in terms of content (think i15) but will be packed with updates and changes to things, not least of which is the removal of Statesman from the game. And if some of the dangling plot elements in i22 come to bear, I will be a very happy camper. -
I think a bigger more vicious clawed version of the creatures from [Haunt] would have been superb.
-
I suppose that could be true. But we as customers don't decide release schedules... and making up expectations, and then being mad when they aren't met is nothing but the fault of those who made them in the first place, not the developers.
-
I like how you took something I purposely didn't quote... and set it next to my statement out of context. Thanks for that.
The video was to promote the Issue release AND the series of Paragon Market releases after that release but in the same "cycle" of content that comes out pre-Issue 23. Simple as that. They have referred to this idea several times throughout different discussions.
Also, your Bruce Willis example falls flat as a comparison. Something closer to the mark would be if he were in a screen-test, and some people saw it. Then, he appeared in a trailer... and that further hyped people. All the while, the producers of the movie were talking about how Bruce's scene wouldn't appear in the first releases of the movie for some technical reason, but would be added into the movie at a slightly later date for theatres whose opening dates are later. Man, this movie analogy really doesn't fit at all... movies just don't work like games at all where new content is constantly added... as per normal. Movies are released as is, and don't get updated until a DVD release or years later.
I'd also like to comment that my overall "attitude" (if you can call it that), is not motivated solely by posts in this thread, but also those in similar threads on this topic as well as the overarching idea held by many players (not necessarily those here) that think in a very entitled way about content releases and what the Devs should be doing specifically to make them happy because "they pay for the game." -
Quote:Well, I guess in reading the thread a bit more closely do see you are right... and I have to apologize a bit.Except when you said "everyone here feel that they deserve powersets on THEIR schedule". And since no one even implied that they deserved it, simply that they were mainly excited about it and now will just have to wait, you at the very least twisted our words which is far from polite.

Quote:If this is true, this is excellent news for many people!Another potential stealth fix >> I think they fixed the lag warehouses! Like, all of them! My graphics card isn't the best, in fact it kind of sucks badly, so whenever I hit a warehouse with a big room full of shelves or equipment I'd lag -really bad- whenever I faced it. Now? Runs fine! I can actually run through the huge shelf room and fight and not see every 3 seconds.
I think I am in love with I22 <3 -
I have to agree with the OP... of all the possible things they could have made... a wolf is the least pleasing to me (well, unless it had been really ridiculous like a big goldfish).
I would even have been happier with just Dark-flavored Imps. -

Quote:They never did. Inclusion in a video does not put it in the Patch Notes. Beta is a place to test new material, conflating that testing with the release of an Issue is NOT the problem of the Developers, it is the problem of those who can't tell the difference. There was never a statement made that i22 would launch with Staff or Beast Mastery.but when the company represents something as being part of an update
Quote:I am not saying they did anything wrong in this case, but your post is a bit of a care-bear oversimplification of why some people were disappointed.
Quote:I started this thread not as a complaint (though I was obviously disappointed at the time) [...] -
Why does everyone here feel that they deserve powersets on THEIR schedule? It is up to the game developers to decide when things get released (or marketing). We will get it when we get and it will be great.
Patience, after all, is a virtue.
