  1. Now that several enemy groups have risen into the ranks of Incarnatehood, I think it would be sweet if some (or all of them) could be offered up as additional Lore Pet Trees, namely:

    Banished Pantheon
    :
    • Specifically: Ravagers/Defilers, Banespawns, Totems and various Masks
    Tsoo:
    • Specifically: Sorcerers, Ancestor Spirits and some of their 'unique' bosses
    Circle of Thorns

    Knives of Vengeance

    Malta Group

Anyone have any other enemy groups that they'd like to see as Lore Pets? Or suggestions to refine the ones above... or, somehow, opposition to the above idea?

That example doesn't come close to what is going on here. Physical items you actually own can't compare to digital objects owned by a game company that... basically... you are renting.

Let me illustrate why. I have alts. Alts all over the place. I am not alone in this. When I go to play my Emp/Rad defender with procs in his attacks and all of a sudden those attacks aren't doing much of anything because the procs aren't firing that is going to be a problem. I won't be able to play that toon. When I go to play my Crab Spider that has the Achiles chance of proc slotted three times and my attacks are no longer working in a way I recognize, its going to be a problem for me.
Wait, wait WAIT! You are saying that because your Procs might Proc a little less often that the character in question becomes unplayable? This idea does not make a lick of sense to me. Not even a bit.

I guess I might look at Procs differently than folks in this thread. To me, they are a bonus: cool when they go off, whatever when they don't... the power its in still does what it's supposed to. The Proc isn't part of the power... it's a gift to me. The power is the important thing.

Yeah, that's a horrendously bad idea. If the items actually were only available to long-time players I would be more in favor of those folks who want exclusivity... but anyone with a bunch of disposable income and a subscription can bypass the time part of it. As long as that is the case, no one has the right to claim that the T9 VIP pieces have anything to do with loyalty or long-time dedication.

I, for one, have been very loyal to this game... just not long enough to get to that Tier quite yet (and when I do, Celestial will be long gone). I just hope that the New Method is no more onerous than the one T9 Vets have used to get sets... and doesn't cost me any more money than my Subscription (not touching my Points) like it did for T9 Vets.

I very much enjoyed this flick! So glad that I decided to see it in the theatres.
  5. So, what I hear you saying, Sam, is that you don't like adapting to changing situations... Because while you say it isn't adapting, it looks like you just don't like moving and so can't seem to call it what it is.

I do have to agree though that the Durray battle in Sutter took this idea to an absurd extreme by combining ridiculous numbers of Air Strikes with obnoxious amounts of teleportations.

  7. I move as much as I can... limited by what makes sense. In other words, there are times when moving around is a detrimant... I don't do it then. I love things like the pink patches in MoM: it forces you to move around and adapt.

In fact, I move a ton even when not in combat. I dont understand how folks can just stand around and talk, I have to be doing something in-game... which is why I like to form iTrials in DA.... there are things to kill there.

Recharge buffs will become a penalty as soon as you go down this road. We will have to built to a specific "cap" of recharge rate for any given build, very carefully not exceeding the optimum value for our attack chains. Speed Boosting a character who is already at their optimum attack chain will decrease their performance. Performance in a League will be HUGELY impacted when you can get tagged with multiple SBs, Chronishifts, Accelerate Metabolisms, et cetera.
I have to disagree. The amount of Recharge a build can get at this point is insane. I think it is fabluous that there will be (or could be) a balance point at which more recharge isn't good.

Likewise, I think that some +Def sets ought to be nerfed as well, but that is a seperate conversation.

This was my take on the OP as well...

And I was also put off by the outright declaration that the poster doesn't intend to work within the 'rules' of posting and still wants us to care about his/her thoughts. If you can't work within the system, the system won't work with you.
  10. Way to cross post dude: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=288516 One thread is probably enough for any idea.

As for actual feedback? If the image you posted is any indication of the graphics you intend to have paired with this set, I am most definitely on board with this idea. The powers need much better names, and a more unified theme to be successful, but the idea certainly has merit.

It is also clear that this set SCREAMS to have a pet in it. I really like the idea Arcana had of a pet that tosses around +End but is stationary a la Spectral Terror.

I will just pretend this makes any sense at all.
  12. I think a good deal of male Psychics in Praetoria are outright killed off, and those that aren't are cast aside to become members of the Awakened. It seems that Mother Mayhem prefers female psychics... -probably- because she is female and thus would find their bodies more comfortable should she need to reside in one for awhile.
  13. I create stories with MA fairly often for use in our RP Teams. But besides creating those, playing my friends' stories and the like, I almost never touch it.

I think it is mainly due to the difficulty of teaming with people while trying to enjoy a story I know nothing about going into. This is the same reason I solo content in the regular game so that I can read it first before I team to play it.

As for rewards? I don't really care what they are, as long as I am having fun.

  15. I don't know that you could make armor out of that place, Sam.

Personally, I don't see it is fair that just because I didn't blow hundreds of dollars on points to move up the tree or subscribe like 3 years earlier I will have to spend money on these items that other VIPs didn't have to. This sounded so much less entitled in my head...
  17. We are talking about yummy hotdogs here, you keep your gross 'slaw' discussion to... well... elsewhere!
  18. Gotta say I agree with this proposal.

It would mean that I woulda progressed a little slower on the Standard Tiers... but I would have Celestial by now, which would be awesome. I just wouldn't be almost done with T8 at this point.

Looks like a crotch laser to me. *Shrug*
  22. Am I the only person who isn't excited about this set at all? And is actually a little miffed that by the time I qualify for T9 VIP the only set I want pieces from (Celestial) will likely be pushed out by a set I don't really want at all (Mecha)?

Sure, you can make their venom invisible to you... but it does nothing to change the attitudes of the folks you are playing with. It's the people who are willing to talk like that that I don't want to team with. I don't really care if I can see it or not.

Are you suggesting that the people suddenly aren't bigoted, or homophobic, or imbecilic just because I can't see the chat anymore?
  24. Maybe someone can explain this to me. I keep seeing people saying things like "not top tier" and "mediocre" when talking about Staff Fighting. And I totally understand that Staff is not the best set ever, and I am not saying it should be considered among this "top tier." My question is: How can every set made end up in the Top Tier and then be complained about if it isn't?

If every set made from here on out was as good as or better than what we already have, then wouldn't (from a numbers perspective) it be completely pointless to continue to play older sets? By virtue of balance isn't it far better that the Devs shoot for mediocre and middle-of-the-road for every set they make to help avoid outliers?

That is precisely what I meant! Thanks for rephrasing it so well for me. Somehow, he completely missed the point.
