Integration!! This would be what... the third time now that I have combined entries to "fix" this type of thing... Most have been my own bad timing. See to it that this does not happen again. Lolz
Edit: Forgot to put that this is #83. Why do I just not use that as the linky? -
I have many funny thoughts about Vila myself. Ever since he appeared in "Home Improvement" back in the day.
Ahem, back on topic: That "ball" must have awesome hang time, otherwise it woulda been my point fo sho. AKA, post a volley my friends... it is okay, no one will laugh at you... well, they might, but that's the point! -
Did you "LOL" at Bob Vila? Or the fact that I got "beet" to the punch again?
(Oh, and thanks. I'm glad you liked it. I can never be sure if one of my changes is funny, because by the time I am done messing with the image, whatever joke there was is totally gone.) -
-
Crap... I can't believe it happened again. Somebody beat me to it. Grrrr!
Oh well, I shall try to integrate... -
As if wieners weren't quite innuendo-y enough...

I have used MSPaint and Photoshop for my entries. My PS is a ridiculously old version that, I'm sure, does not have all the nifty doo-dads that some folks use. *Shrug* It works for me.
Regarding Paint: I use it to post entries when I am at work as I don't have access to my home PC. -
Nice! Ya gotta know that the devs make rip-off characters and see how long it takes to get petitioned. It would be a good thing to run a betting pool on.
-
Nice job on the edit by the way. A little cheaty as you didn't use the whole image... but the coolness kills the violation, imo.
I feel so deprived as I have been playing CoH at home, and thus can only Paint Edit most of my submissions as I am doing them at work. -

I had a rather strange combinations of things occur when I tryed to log-in... Even after I had logged in for a few minutes just hours before.
I tried logging in on my main computer, which I had used earlier to successfully patch up and play i13, and got the "Connecting....#Exty-Trillion." After messing around with random things (I had assumed it was an issue with my comp.) I tried again and again. Eventually it "fixed" some CoH files, and then gave me "Downloading Manifest ... 0MB/0MB @0MB/sec." It was frozen there for some time.
Meanwhile, I was able to log in without issue on my boyfriend's PC which is on the same router as my main computer. This made me assume that it was DEFINATELY my main computer's problem. But judging by the posts, it would seem that I simply got lucky and was able to log in, and that the other comp. simply was not so lucky.
I hope that I can play when I get home from work (and judging from recent posts, I should be able to). I have a base to re-design, a Hero to make, a Villain to make, as well as lots of time spent respecing and getting my Day Jobs going.
With what little time I did spend on Live with i13, looks good. However, the base editor seems rather... borked. Wall objects won't place, and I can't seem to move any rooms (regardless of how I try). -
Looks like my edit, adding 51, got beet (see above). I think I can edit mine to include his change...
Volley 52. -
I love this thread... really I do. Just a bit more, in fact, than the Psychoti-pwnage of the Rude Tells thread. I'd add, but again, I am relegated to Paint.
Okay, so I stuck with my "theme" Volley 51*
*Edit: Link changed, as my edit got beet to the punch below. -
Number 38 *Unnnh* Right back at ya!
Okay, I think I need to take a break. I feel like I am monopolizing the match a bit. -

OK. Now that I am home, my muse is gone. But I have Photoshop. So I made THIS.
Volley 28.
(Ha, I replied to myself. Hope the above submission isn't "cheating," I did use the previous image after all.) -
Added an apostrophe, because it was bugging me.

This is the greatest thread in the history of ever.
Someone needs to make a movie of this thing's evolution when it's all done.

I'm pretty sure that was part of the plan of the OP. -
So enamored was I by this thread, that I couldn't wait to get home to use Photoshop. I decided to trudge through Paint at work. Not as fantatic as I coulda made it.
*Unnh* <-- What? People make all kinds of strange noises while playing tennis.

If Firethorn is like me, he probably used a pic of himself since models (especially guys) are kind of hard to come by unless people really know you. Getting them to pose is even harder. I've made pictures similar in style so if I had to guess I would say that it truely is a real dude.

It is a "real dude" who has had Sunstorm painted onto him. Take a look at the [Source] on the bottom of the DeviantArt page containing the original image.
Edited to include the link. -
Snippet, and emphasis is mine:

Don't accuse me of drama because I had the guts to come in here and dissent and tell the truth.

So it takes "guts" now to post text on a message board? Perhaps I should look that up. I would suggest a look at 2b.
I think the term you were looking for is "internuts."
Also, simply supporting a change that moves a system closer to a logical one is not being a "fanboi." Merits are an attempt to bring parity to the TFs in this game. Their original intention as multi-session group events was rarely realized (aka used). As a direct result people played them straight through, so only the short one are run regularily.
This game, and TFs, are a means of entertainment based on comic book lore and comic style action. At the risk of sounding like I am telling you how to play: the intention of the game is not to collect intangible luxury items (IOs).
So, what this boils down to is, the reality that the content (TFs) are to provide story and background as well as provide a reward as a congratulations for completing it. Unfortunately the amount of "virtual work" required to run a KHTF, an ITF, a Doc Q TF, and the others are not the same. Yet, they have been providing the same reward. I wonder which ones will get run more often? Post-i13, a metric will have been established by which we can finally view TFs as rewarding based on "virtual effort."
TL;DR Version:
You are wrong, and I agree with That1GuyUKnow. -
Wow, that is a pretty decent idea. I could curse him for bringing logic to the internets but, alas, I shall not.

Maybe you love sludge and drudge and gaming to be a painful slow and steady but I for one LOVED doing fast Katie's and Edens and Caps even when I got nothing for them. And hitting the lotto with them was fantastic.

It was one of the funnest things I have ever done in any online game. I am saddened that the glum conservative "grind it out... make them pay" mentality of gamer has won the day.
[/ QUOTE ]
Right... So, perhaps I am missing something here... recieving intanglible rewards that are, essentially, a luxury item is more entertaining to you than actually, I don't know, playing the game?
The game is a game! It is its own reward. If people need to earn some mystical intangible in-game object to have fun, then (IMO), you are doing something seriously wrong.
It is this exact type of conclusion that has caused me to (almost) ignore the doom sayers. I started playing this game because it looked fun to make superheroes, and interact with others who like comic lore. Even if every IO in the game were to be deleted tomorrow, I would still turn on the game and play. Fun (to me) is not nor will it ever be a direct function of what I "earn" in the pretendy fun-time game. This point of view is tantamount to only playing Monopoly so that you can hold the pieces of cardboard, and owing nothing to the personal interaction and pure fun of playing a somewhat silly make-believe game.
(Call me a "Yes Man" or a "Dev Lover" if you want... but I am not here for invisible prizes... just invisible fun from a game.)
