Suggestion, platinum roll, 9999 tickets:
15% chance of a random purple
85% chance of 1 gold + 1 silver + 1 bronze roll
What would this do to the market ?
[/ QUOTE ]
Do you mean 85% chance to get a random gold OR silver OR bronze? Or a 85% chance to get all three? -
[ QUOTE ]
When it cost u 3-5bill to purple out 1 toon that's getting a little ridiculous.
[/ QUOTE ]
See, I don't think this should even be possible... let alone cheap. -
[ QUOTE ]
set to 6 running with just my 2 accounts = 1 purp unbreakable constraint chance for smashing damage and the devs wonder why it cost 100-200 mill per purple.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't think they wonder at all, actually. They did indeed build this game, after all.
[ QUOTE ]
Hell for an Apocalypse set it would run u close to 1bill FOR ONE SET probably more like 800 mill. they need to do something about the purple recipes.
[/ QUOTE ]
Bwuh?? Did I miss something? Aren't the IOs you are describing in fact [u]Ultra-Rare[u]? Doesn't this mean that they should be very rare? As in, doing a few missions should not net you a full complement of them. How long does it take to get a full set of IOs as regular mission drops?

Couldn't agree with this last part more. *Ignores the inevitable "fanboi" comment.* -

Those of us that have been here for a while know that is not the case with CoX.
If you rush to level 50 in CoX, you missed the "playing" of the game.
CoX is about exploring the game environment as you progress.

I remember solo-ing my Grav/FF Troller until, IIRC somewhere in the teens b/c I didn't want to team with other folks until I was confident that I knew what the F I was doing. Consequently, I didn't really know much, because teaming was a whole 'nother ballgame.... Using KB to save your butt isn't as helpful on a team, for one.
But, it saddens me that so many folks are compelled to only reach high enough to get the "low hanging fruit" (i.e. quick levels in MA). *sigh* -

Popcorn is good though, want some?

Yes, please. -
"Nice looking" is incredibly subjective. Afterall, someone had to have thought that the original look of Sonic was nice looking. I keed... Dual blades is very cool looking in my opinion. It is not, however, flashy in the sense of bright colors and explosions. That said, I like watching the set in action, YMMV.

I built a character not all that long ago that is very distantly inspired by Gambit who is an Electric Melee/Ninjitsu Stalker. I can't say as I've seen any guides to this combo, and have not ever played either set before. My only Stalker experience is on a Dark/SR that I leveled to 50. I learned that a Stalker build is extremely tight if you want to have Stamina and a Travel power by any kind of logical level.
I guess what I am asking is, does anyone have a decent PvE leveling build? And if not, any suggestions for skippable powers and/or must haves? -

Come on, noone sees the funny in making a character for his set of anti giant monster, but a character for your mom? Cause she is a giant monster.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry dude, I detect no funny here. I think if I knew what an "anti-GM" is, it might have registered... but appending "your mom" to things has not, nor ever will be funny. -

I blame Boegs and Thirty7 for jointly sending in the petition on shard....
can i have your stuff now?
[/ QUOTE ]
Lol. I haven't petitioned anyone in a long time. Last time I did, was over some very racist remarks... nothing to do with costumes in some time now.
I just don't see how doing a rage-post about it will help anything. Not to mention that the vast majority of them I have run across, the originator was totally in the wrong. (I have yet to see any information about the character in question in this thread though). -
[ QUOTE ]
Thank you so much. Thank you for taking all the enjoyment out of one of my favorite toons now whom I enjoyed playing very much.
[/ QUOTE ]
So.... you can't still play it?

She is not a "clone" of an existing character. She is a very, very loosely based parody.
[/ QUOTE ]
Parodies are not exempt from the rules. In fact, IIRC it states specifically not to parody existing licensed characters.
[ QUOTE ]
I've no idea who did it, but I just wanted to say thank you. I'm glad you've nothing better to do with your time than ruin other people's fun.
.
Since the introduction of i14, I've seen more than my fair share of Hulk, Wolverine, Deadpool, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and various other rip-offs in Atlas asking for PL farms in the AE. I've seen my share of "colorfully named" characters like "HooFlungPoo" and "BangMe"
[/ QUOTE ]
So, this excuses you from the rules exactly how? Oh, that's right, it doesn't.
[ QUOTE ]
and I've minded my own business and let you go about doing your own thing.
[/ QUOTE ]
Because you don't report flagarntly innappropriate and unauthorized reproductions somehow means that those who do are in the wrong? Guess again.
[ QUOTE ]
From now on, I will make it personal mission in-game to locate every possible clone and report it.
[/ QUOTE ]
This makes sense.
You: "I totally disagree with this practice, but now I shall dedicate my existence to doing exactly what I just spent time rage-posting that I hated."
Me: "Hypocrite much?"
[ QUOTE ]
Thanks again for ruining my character. I really appreciate it.

Well... until we see pictures or a name, I will assume it was a well earned generic. I will gladly recant if it was not. -

about the holes in our brains, its the riktis.

This works better as rikti haiku.
Graves deeper: don't dig.
Soon enough: we all will die.
Brains: Holes. Rikti: Win.

I am pissed! I have had the name Marvel Maiden for years now. I created her on my old account back in 2002! And I get on yesterday to play her and I see that she was Generic. I received an email saying that she resembled a hero from the Marvel Universe! ARE YOU SERIOUS! WHO?
What do you the community think? Am I overreacting? I want to go as far a petition. Because I think it is Horse Dong!
Marvel Maiden 1
Marvel Maiden 2

Anytime I see a post in which someone is mad that their character got genericed, I feel the urge to point and laugh and tell them just how stupid they were for expecting it [u]not[u] to get generic-ed.
After reading your post, and looking at the few supplied pics, I totally agree with you. Though I will not argue that the character name/concept is fantastic and original, it is certainly not in violation of any rule as far as I can tell.
Contest it, simple as that. -

Can we see the costume? That always helps me with a name.
-
I can't begin to comment on this question because of two things.
1) I wasn't around before the Market was implemented in this game.
2) I have no idea what the game would be like at this point if IOs and the Market were never put into it. For all I know, there wouldn't be a game to play at all.
But, with that said, if the Market suddenly disappeared, I can't imagine I would miss it. -

An altoholic is a creature who is slave to their inspiration.
No, not the skittle kind of Inspirations, I mean they are a slave to their own creativity and sense of "oooh.. now THAT would be cool!"
An altoholic is not content to run a single character from start to finish simply because at some point during the advancement process they start thinking "Hey, wouldn't it be cool if I ran a mutant plumber with a magically powered pipe wrench? Oh! And a manhole cover for a shield!"
It's not that they don't love the other characters they created; it's that the act of creation itself holds more alure to them than the feeling of accomplishment getting a character to 50th level. If anything, altism is a form of gamer's polygamy. We altoholics just can't bring ourselves to a monogamous relationship with a single character.

Repaint? Not yet, but it's on the Training Room as a part of Issue 15, so soon.

Seriously?
I haven't had the time to get onto test this time around, maybe I need to go download the current patch and check things out.
[/ QUOTE ]
Srsly. Though it is a touch limited... being able to rename the in-game mobs is cool enough for me though! -
[ QUOTE ]
Keep me out of it. I was trying to be constructive, and give some support to some poor kid that just wanted to talk about an idea for a computer game that was getting all ganged up on.
Would it kill you to be positive for once? If you had just ignored this thread, or posted your objections ONCE it would have died from disinterest; as you've noted, very few people came in with any support.
Just let this thread die.
[/ QUOTE ]
But that method wouldn't result in 14 pages of mindless arguments about a concept that shouldn't hit this game.
But seriously... why should people be positive about an idea they don't like?
Person: "Okay, we are substituting tree sap for soap today.... enjoy!"
Objector: "Umm, no... that wouldn't work. What a stupid idea!"
P: "It isn't stupid... let me prepare a list of how it would work." *makes a list*
O: *is silent*
*Tree sap becomes the new soap, much to the chagrin of the objector*
You see, only stating your opinion once, and then letting it go means your hands will end up very sticky.... wait, that sounds bad. -

That last part would seal the deal for you... without the disclaimer they would definately think it was a trap. -

It is highly likely that Agent Vermillion will switch sides at some point... though he is in a pact, so I don't know how that will work exactly.
He is the Praetorian version of Agent Viridian and was asked to play double agent for Longbow via Maria Jenkins and Tina Macintyre at Portal Corp. As you can see, it appears as if Going Rogue will be a natural fit for Vermillion! -
What's with all the numbers talk? The guy clearly stated that the concept he has requires Elec/SR, and that he likes Electric Melee... the question was if SR is a good set for Stalkers. It clearly is a good set, and has awesome synergy with the dynamic of a Stalker's play. There, that's it... case closed!
