If it didn't have SOMETHING, it'd be lame. Just "pop" and there you are. With the animation, at least you've got something to look at and judge your timing with, since it IS a clicky power.
If they made one animation for each of the Origins, *and you could choose among them* ... maybe. But not if it was enforced per-origin, and certainly it's not an emote-possible power so choosing on the fly (like flight, pardon the pun) is extremely unlikely.
[/ QUOTE ]
Good idea. When someone picks teleport, we could get 6 powers added: [Teleport.Mutant], [Teleport.Magic], [Teleport.Science], [Teleport.Technology], [Teleport.Natural] and [Teleport]. Then, we could choose which one we put in our tray and which animation is used... much the same way that the Veteran [Sprint] variants are done currently. -
There are several character who have appeared (sometimes multiple places) that, to my knowledge have no names. One such place is in this image (unknown characters are circled).
If they have in fact been named, who are Heroes #1 through 4? -
Good call on posting in Manticore's thread... I hadn't thought of that.
-
So, I was trying to find a picture of various villains that I could use as a desktop at work, and found this image (which I modified to make the question easier).
Which brings up the question: just who are those other heroes in the picture (#1 through #4)? I wonder if they were all ever even named? -
I cried a little when I read the Ancestral Recall part. I have always wanted one of those.

Comming?
Meh, I am less than excited. I like the colors as they are... And if other players' costumes are any indication, PC will be an eye-sore.

I bet you're hte kind of person that gets a "Buy One, Get One Free" deal and says, "What? I only get one?"
[/ QUOTE ]
But wouldn't I get two? -
It is kinda funny how much of that has been (or will shortly be) put in the game. Especially when one considers that most forumits dismissed the whole thing out of hand as reckless pipe-dream material.

Not sure exactly how this bug is reproduced, but oftentimes, when I'm on my Arachnos Soldier, if I change costumes while my gun is drawn, the muzzle flashes and various VFX that should be at the barrel of the gun shift to the right of my character. Sometimes changing costumes again or drawing my Bane mace will get the VFX back to the right spot.
[/ QUOTE ]
This bug does not persist after a change in zone either. According to teammate feedback, this error is not seen by other players (at least not in my experience). -
Most likely the same color they have always been. Only sets I could imagine changing would be Force Fields, and possibly Energy Melee (assuming I ever make one).

The pocket D map isnt like any other city map though.
I'd understand the viewpoint about pandering if you had picked almost any other example.
Most newbies would open the map (in middle of screen maybe not knowing how to move it), click on the green dot for kings row/cap and follow the direction marker which points the wrong way.
So it aint a case of just knowing where the map button is, and what the Green dots mean on it. But knowing you need to ignore the direction it tells you to go.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is exactly what tripped me up the first time I got into Pocket D. I had figured out to use the map, and had selected where I wanted to end up, but couldn't for the life of me figure out how to get to that magic green dot. Now, I wonder how I ever could have been confused, but at that time? Heck, remembering what my powers did was a pain sometimes. -
I think the system is in place because it borrowed from the TF code...
Also, do we really NEED another thread about this? There is, after all, an official thread for these types of conversations. -
[ QUOTE ]
Umm yeah, they should lock in all the employees and cancel all other projects until this is done.
Sharker wake up please.
I appreciate the volunteer effort but we should not have to rely on it.
It is time for this 4+ million dollar per year company to provide this service for their customers.
[/ QUOTE ]
Why?
Why should they provide this service when the community has already done the work for them? Because you demand it (and that is exactly what you are doing)? Come on! If you are so worried about it, volunteer your own time to help out the people (person) working on Mids now.
At any rate, when I read the OP I thought for sure this was a thread about an offline Costume Creator. I was dissapointed to find it was a thread temper-tantruming for a feature that doesn't deserve Dev time. -
Well, there are a bunch of things to know.
If you look at the list of servers, the ones at the bottom are of the highest population, and the one at the top is the last one that you used.
<ul type="square"> [*] Freedom -- Unquenstianbly the server with the highest population. It is often described as "FreeDumb." Lots of everything here, everything from PvP and Farms to RP and BadgeHunters. [*]Virtue -- The second most populated server. Has a rather large RP population. Lots of everything else too.[*]Infinity -- My home server. Approximately the third largest, though that is very arguable. Little bit of everything and pretty durn active. Used to have a very active PvP aspect and Redside presence as well... not sure the status on that now.[*]Justice -- About as populated as Infinity, a very active playerbase as well, high forum presence and community sense. Bunch o' Aussie players here as well. [*]Champion -- [*]Guardian -- Crazy server that loves its cookies, somewhat low population but still fairly active. Red-side is a veritable ghost town a lot of the time.[*]Triumph -- [*]Victory -- Only thing I know is that a fairly active GLBT population seems to reside here.[*]Liberty -- [*] Pinnacle --[*] Protector --[/list][Please fill in the spots I have left blank, I don't know much about those servers at all.] -

well having the latest and greatest tech usually makes life a little easier, i mean where would we be without the wheel, electricity, running water, or nacho cheese dispensers?
so sure you could live without it, but if you have the means to live with it i'd say go for it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Those are rather outside, extreme examples (except maybe the cheese dispenser), especially when compared to a regular old cell phone and a new touch-screen-full-QWERTY-I-can-make-toast cell phone. Neither of which is esential to most people, and the second one that only makes very non-esential functions easier (like texting).
-
Sorry I got the rules committee knocking on the door, dude. I was mostly joking when I mentioned the "breech." Mostly because you are a prolific suggestor... I deliberately misspelled rules too so that it would appear less serious.
Wow, gots us some serious ones round these parts, a'yuh. -
[ QUOTE ]
They were males pretending to be females. Not the other way around. I really doubt too many females pretend to be males while RPing, but since I'm not a RPer, I could be way off base in my assumption.
My guess is there are A LOT of guys running around pretending to be female. Those are the people I wonder about.
If you're wearing those shoes, then I feel really sorry for you. If you dont, good for you and enjoy your RP. mmmkay?
I don't get the entire "RP" thing anyways. You're playing a video game...and its not exactly text based. So I guess I'm missing the part where RP can be "fun".
[/ QUOTE ]
So, a bit homophobic? Perhaps ascribing to unnecessarily rigid gender role stereotypes? Wow, take a look around, it takes all kinds. -
[ QUOTE ]
Heck, my cell phone barely has features people were getting eight years ago and is itself four years old.
.
So what? I don't define myself (or my friends) by the toys I/they own and the features they do or don't have. I buy tools that have the functions I need, not toys that have the features I want (or have been induced to want). (And am capable of distinguishing between needs and wants, much to the frustration of Madison Avenue.)
[/ QUOTE ]
This.
Having the latest and greatest tech accomplishes what? Bragging rights? I have always been of the mind that those folks should go toot their horn in private (hehe, double entendre, FTW). -
Great freaking idea!
Just please don't put me in the closet... I've already come out of it once! -
I think Doc is referring to the rampant PLing Farms that are still going on via the AE in Cap.
Hoenstly though, why the rush to 50? Enjoy the ride... after all, there is only one zone where being 50 even matters for PvP (as far as I know, and that isn't very far).
To answer the original question: any villain can level quickly if you invest the time into it and team often. I mean, all characters (at the same level) gain XP at the same rate when on the same team. Really, you should be asking to join an active VG so that you can maximize your teaming potential.
However, I would say that a Brute may be your best bet. They are great additions to any team and can hold their own solo as well. TFs love to have a brute or two, and most any build would do you just fine. That said, any Set with lots of AoE will assure that enemies get "tagged" so that when they die you get some XP (again, this point is moot if you are teamed). -
Nifty. CoH love via osmosis, or something, eh?
Oh, and:

If there had been any more color or smileys in the OP, I think I would have exploded. Also, a minor nitpick: I thought it was against the forum rools (hehe) to do a topic like this or to "lobby" for a particular change.
Regardless: I like more options! So, bring on the NO! -
Hmmm, I suppose at the softcap one wouldn't need any of the extra survival tools, huh? I don't think I will be using too many IOs, if any at all, but thanks for the input nonetheless.
