Well, there are these, coming in the not too distant future:
Aside from those, I really do agree that we could use some more classic pieces. However, I really don't like the attitude of some of the folks who seem to want these the most. They seem wholly dismissive of CoV players as well as anyone who really really likes the direction recent costume packs have been going. Personally, I don't have any issue at all creating characters that I feel are evocative of comic book characters... then again, I am a child of the 90s (grew up on characters like Cable) and love to play redside. -
Quote:Just so long as the detail is in the Hair section and the same Detail area as Horns or some such so that we can have them sticking through regular hair, and I am happy. I can think of at least one character who might sport that look.Personally I'm loving the look of the set as a whole. My main problem with it is less that there's another mohawk, and more that "Eww eww eww! Nails through head! Eww!!!!"

Me thinks this looks amazing!

Gotta go with Techbot here regarding villain content. I love me some redside!

Quote:I don't see those responses as contradictory at all. Adding gimmicks to old sets is not the same as doing periodic balance passes to assure that everything is working well. Darth, it seems, is looking for a regular review pass on all power sets, not a periodic addition of completely new mechanics. Of course, I could be the one misconstruing things... but I don't think so.While I agree with you here Darth....remember a few months back when I made a thread suggesting simple (simple ideas) to make older sets updated and flashy, compared to new ones? And WHAT was your response?
"Oh, I dont want them to touch the sets I like, I dont want to play anything with gimmicks."
And then you post the above? Which is it, you what every set looked at and tweaked..or you want nothing 'old' touched at all? And yes..I KNOW you said you dont like gimmicks..I understand some people dont, but everything I suggested, and most of the ideas in THIS thread, would involve no change at all in playstyle..or a change for the better. -

This thread is just another in the long line of threads with unhelpful thread titles! Why would you use an open statement that could literally refer to anything as the thread title?
I mean, really? It ends with a freaking colon!? -

If our only choices are the ones in the OP? I say we keep what we have in-game already.

When did this become a meme?
Or perhaps a better question, what -isn't- a meme these days? -
Quote:Ahh yes, I see I had my abstract personified forces/things crossed. That's Eternity. Although every major aspect of reality has a personification as well, so Eternity is the body of the universe, but must often counsel with the other forces to come to a consensus on universal matters.

This thread is a very entertaining read, so far. I may not know all of the characters, but its definitely fun to think about.
I was very amused by the mention of god (or God)... but instantly wondered how long it would take before someone took his religion too seriously and got offended... I see I didn't need to wait long.
I think I need to toss a vote at one of the forces like Eternity or the Beyonder... doesn't the Universe itself have a personification in the Marvelverse? -
Sevenpenny, I hate to say this so bluntly, but it is obvious you have no understanding of "mental illness." The scenarios you present (planning vs. mental illness) are not mutually exclusive.

Textual errors don't change what it is. It isn't "invented" so it can't be an Invention.

Quote:While true, that's not what I meant. That is an artifact of the way the game stores data server-side... nothing to do with an in-game concept.Barring "divine intervention" of sorts, every player character in this game is effectively immortal. They will "live" as long as their universe.
Unfortunately, the post below yours hits a bit closer with the medi-porter.
What I was thinking was more of a zero recharge self-rez... or something like that, which doesn't exist... for good reason. -

Johnny Storm can take a hell of a lot more damage than a Blaster can. Sue Storm's power set would be more of a Stalker with Force Fields... and Poison Ivy? She has done things like ensnare an entire city, that is beyond the scope of any Controller I know.
Quote:Scrappers and Brutes both emulate Wolverine and the Hulk reasonably well.
Face it Johnny, NO character in comics is properly analogous to in-game ATs. It just isn't possible because in comics powers and power levels change to fit the needs of a story, in a game that simply can't happen... it would be unbalancing (hint hint). -

Quote:You may notice from my join date that I've been playing this game for 5 years (not as long as many) but I would think that would be long enough that were I going to get sick of that content, it woulda happened already.some of us have been playing since 2006 or sooner and are tired of the same low level contacts that we've done countless times.
Just saying. -
Quote:I know this isn't what you said, but firstly... because the threads themselves are an exceedingly common occurrence, and to see the same type of post every week a power set or SSA isn't released seems... trite and pointless to me. So, from that point alone, at least my patience is wearing a bit for this type of thread. How is it "being entitled" to simply comment on a vary rare occurrence?
To answer your actual question, no matter what a person's motivation for the post, stating that you aren't pleased with the selections this week (especially if specific comments are made about what -should- be on the market) it comes off sounding like: -I- didn't get -exactly- what I wanted, why does Paragon Studios suck at doing what -I- want them to!?
Do you see how that might sound like entitlement?
Also, it isn't rare for there to be a week in which an SSA or power set isn't released. In fact, it prolly happens twice a month, or more.
