Since I heard that both Power Customization and Electric Armor for Scrappers was coming for Issue 16, I have been waiting with baited breath to create a Scrapper that is Spines/Elec with one of the new Spines Customizations and the ability to use non-red Electric Armor. *pant pant*
At any rate, I want a really good name! He will be replacing my lvl 19 Spines/Fire who is stalled out due to a crappy costume and an even crappier name. I just don't care about him as much as I do the characters that I have invested the time it takes to get a rocking name.
My idea for this new Spines/ElecA dude is either a robot character who can fire metal from his body (laced in poisonous coolant) and is constantly discharging electricity due to a malfunction in his wiring... OR some other concept that might be intriguing.
So, anyone have a good name or interesting character bio, or both?
I just don't think my original idea (Scattershock) is quite good enough. -
No one has mentioned the Televison? He has some very good dialog, and is truely fun to read, at least IMO... though it might be best to try it solo, there is a LOT to read.
-
So far I have gotten one level on one character.
I have been waaaay too busy in RL to really play much lately. And when I did play, no one was anywhere but AP, and if I wanted to run farms, I could do that any day of the week. Heck, there was not even one person running an ITF when I logged on, that is sad. -
Isn't half the point of a respec the ability to change your power selections? Therefore you wouldn't necessarily have the same powers as you did pre-respec and therefore could not simply mirror your old tray (Where the heck did "hotbar" come from? Is that some type of buffet?
And skills for that matter... they are powers.
). Hence, the current system.

Whats with the slashed 7s? Don't you know you could get by so much easier if you didn't write your ones with a loop? A one is an l with a / at the top, not an l with a u at the top. Duh
And don't get my started with Zs.
(Having gone to a high school were a sixth of the graduating class were foreign exchange students, I mock "the others" without any intention of actual harm. After all, without the Brits how would we ever have had Doctor Who?)
<-- Crosses his Z's (pronounced zees) and 7s... and lowercase Qs for that matter. -
Quote:Hmmmm, I don't think they "owe" anyone anything. It would be nice, but anyone who expects an apology does not deserve to get one.somebody goofed on 2X exp weekend of all weekends to goof and cause major server lag and long load times plus mapservers and drops
my example
reg time to do --- today time to do
load 1 min 5 min
load mission map or other 15 sec 5-6 min or get dropped
no lag at all
lag to the point it took 12 min to get to the far island in nerva
so can we get a fix and a reset of double exp weekend?
Also, though it certainly sucks to miss out on all that lovely DblXP time in AE (/sarcasm) it clearly states in the EULA that outages and other things will occur, and that they are not responsible for loss of play time as a result. -

Passive powers have never appeared in your tray (Day Job accolades are no exception). And yes, you do need to collect charges for them in order for the passive power to keep applying its effect... However, instead of a number of charges, they grant an amount of time, IIRC.

Also, for whoever happens to read this, Marcone and I recently bought a house, and have a lot of things that need doing for it. As a result, our free time is next to zero and will remain so for the foreseeable future. I really hate to say it, but there is a slight chance that we will have to bow out of this group.
I hope it doesn't come to that though. -

Normally it tells you in the description if it can be used on other allies, excluding yourself or if it can be used on self.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well how do you cast it on yourself if it's usable on yourself? I can't figure out how to target myself in the first place.
[/ QUOTE ]
You can never target yourself. -
The biggest key to who a buff is useable on is the Power Icon itself*. If the outter gray ring is broken into 4 parts, than it is a targeted buff, and is not useable on the caster. If there is no ring, it is a self-only buff. If the ring is broken into 8 pieces, that designates it as a team-oriented buff. If it has a full ring, it is a buff that impacts an area around and including the caster. If it has a full ring AND four sections, it is an ally or enemy targeted area of effect and may help the caster if he/she is within the radius. If it has a full ring and 8 segments, it is an area of effect that only impacts the team.
Was that convoluted enough?
* Note: The icons are not ALWAYS consistent, but they are a good clue more often than not. -
Well, I would think that a Bane might fit that... but honestly, any of the VEATs will roxxor. A soft-capped Widow is your friend, as I hear tell. Personally, I have a Huntsman that I am absolutely loving to death.
Also, get a team of VEATs and watch the invulnerable players wreak havoc on unsuspecting NPCs.... it is bliss. -

If double xp doesnt apply to AE, 90% of the player won't know where to go! lol The only thing they know is atlas park & Cap. hehe

Good?
It'll be a chance for all the PLers and farmers who use newbs to pad to finally team with the evil they have wrought and experience the pure unadulterated suckitude of clueless players struggling to even use a train, much less understand LoS, pulling, herding, tanking, not AoE Immobing over KD areas, etc, ad nauseum.
(Just so you know... There might be a bit of humor in that there.) -

Per usual, the 5-Digit Post Count Patrol sweeps in and shoots down an idea without acctually addressing the idea. I'm starting to understand how one achieves such numbers...

No one shot down anything. Fleeting pointed out a fact. He just did it far more pointedly and succinctly than what is usually considered polite.
Back on topic: I like this idea. /signed -
An aside:
[ QUOTE ]
anti-social
[/ QUOTE ]
Anti-social is not the term you are looking for here, it is asocial.
Antisocial refers to a diagnosable mental disorder that is classified on the DSM IV-TR as a Personality Disorder. Basically, it equates to a sociopath or an up-and-coming homicidal maniac (okay, not really, but it gives a very stark and memorable picture).
Asocial, is far more innocuous and simply means not wanting to be around people, or prefering solitude.
Sorry to tangent, but it is a pet-peeve of mine and I hope to educate there are a lot of people that have no idea there is a difference. -
[ QUOTE ]
Seriously, why is this such an argument with people ?
[/ QUOTE ]
I think I can tackle this one...
Part of it is a bizarre need to be right, and part of it is a bizarre need to inform you of their knowledge, and part of it is the fact that they ARE right in this case.
I don't think any of the arguers above will refute the fact that some defenders seem to solo painfully, and others can solo, well, admirably... and that using those same sets on a controller can enable the soloing of AVs and GMs. Where the issue comes in is that you are trying to make a Defender do something that a Defender is not meant to do. Defenders are designed as force multipliers, NOT as forces in and of themselves... if they become both, it shoots other ATs in the foot.
Do I personally totally agree with this? No. I think there is a small latitude of improvement that can be eeked out for Defenders and still keep them in acceptable levels. Just as I believe, to a point that Mr. Butane's insane Tank rants have an ounce of truth to them... just not as much as he claims. -

so far.

That right there is the operative phrase. It is perhaps the easiest thing in the universe to go around a spam filter.
Other, better, suggestions have been made.
Also, whether it is against the forum rules or not, do you really WANT to advertise for a site that you don't like? It seems antithetical to your stated purpose. -
[ QUOTE ]
As long as my work server doesn't block the new forums I don't care where the forums are..old or new.
[/ QUOTE ]
My issue exactly. It blocks some things, but not others. It allows the wiki through the Titan Network, but blocks the other one... as long as the new forums are free and clear, I am a happy camper!! -
*Dad, Mom and kids are flying to their vacation spot*
Dad: Stop [Taunting] your sister! I will turn us around, and go back home. Don't make me fly back there and [Detention Field] you two!! -
Dang it, Billy, you know better than to hug your father with your Spines out!!

No, seriously, I get it -- you want to sell me influence.
You've got a business and somehow no one has implemented an in-game spam filter based on your host name... which is in every single message. You've gotten clever enough to make it cost effective to create and send spam from dozens of fly-by-night in-game names. (Someone please tell me that trial accounts can't do that.) You are truly a captain of your industry.
Yet, there's only so much my global ignore list can take.
How about we meet somewhere in the middle? How about you only send a maximum of one e-mail per month to any given character name + server name combination? Surely there's not so much name turnover that you'd miss any of us.
I'll send cookies?
sigh.

So... You enjoy disregarding forum rules, do you?
I think the Dev team could create a bridge made out of the printouts of the complaints they have recieved regarding RMT that would make car travel to the moon possible. So, tell me again why they need to be reminded here? Do you think they forgot?? -

I want to keep this friendly, but as expected, someone ALWAYS has to start the poking jibes.
[/ QUOTE ]It's a jibe to let you know that your opinion is empty? I'm telling you why you're not making headway, why nobody is taking you seriously - because you're working from a foregone and erronous postulate.

You dont know me, or my gaming experience, so dont insult me if you are able to prove a valid point.
[/ QUOTE ]'You're stupid' is an insult. 'You don't know what you're talking about' is an observation. And you don't know what you're talking about.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not to side one way or the other, but that "observation" is only an observation so long as it is accurate, after that point, it truly is an insult. And, obviously, Biospark does not believe that it is an observation. Therefore...
