Good point on the 5th there, Space. Not sure that the Council (Italy-based fascism) would be quite so strict.
I think I would have to disagree on the CoT and Nemesis conclusions though. There are in fact many female deities in the mythos behind CoH, thus it makes sense that there may be female spirits.
As for the Nemesis, it doesn't seem to me that he has much of an issue with women... after all they are used as Automatons. Likewise, his plans are so far reaching and "brilliant" that I would think he would see how beneficial being an equal opportunity employer might be. -

Is Snaptooth not available at all? Can't say I have ever looked for him.

So, that title oughta get people in here.
Have you ever stopped to wonder why there aren't more females in the various villain groups? It seems odd to me that there are a scant smattering of them throughout a few groups and then a group or two that are ALL female. What gives? I suggest adding in a bit more diversity!
Some of the groups that are sans the fairer sex completely, or nearly so (and an idea on what to do about it):
Fifth Column/Council: The 5th and Council already have a TON of different units on offer, so adding yet another wouldn't really make sense. Instead, I propose simply mixing in some female models with the existing male ones.
Circle of Thorns: There is but one female entity: the Succubus. Perhaps adding some more feminine ghosts with less obnoxious powers (i.e. ones that don't floor your chance to hit).
Nemesis: Here I propose adding in an entirely female mounted division of the Nemesis army. The oft requested steam-powered pony could be used as their mount, and kill two birds with one, errr, pony, as it were.
The Family: Though the mob (no pun intended) is pretty much dominated by men, it seems unlikely that there wouldn't even be a single "employee" who happens to be a girl.
So, what do you think? Is this ridiculous? Do you have your own suggestions? -
Quote:This forum can be a rather rude place, I think it is best to have a "trial by fire" entrance to get used to being belittled (even if unjustified). I know MY first idea here was. This may be the most pointless thread any of you have ever read. But I started this new thread to apologize. Apologize for my 'misuse' of colors in the font. I am not going to lie, I am VERY new to this. Before I just played the game for fun, then I discovered this forum site. It intrigued me to know that I could post so many things on here, for instance...the AE thread. But I obvisiously didn't know is how critical everyone is on here. I don't mean how critical people are with the thread titles or the idea of it, I mean how critical people are of color fonts and how i use my grammer, yadda yadda yadda...But since everyone here has been so kind as to point out my faults, let me point one out to you, when you know someone is newer on here, instead of being so mean about things, just give them a heads up and tell them politely, instead of, well, basically starting an arguement! I really don't expect any responses, and if I get a few, kool beans. I just wanted to tell everyone that happens to read this, that I am sorry for the colors of the font and my 'attitude'. Hopefully, in the future, I will get better at this!!
However, I don't remember if I yelled at you or not... if I did I do apologize. I wish that people would be more polite, but I stand by what I said above as well (mostly because I know lots of people will NOT be polite). -

Quote:Everytime that I see a player on one of my teams get the little orange rings (well, they could be any color now) I always say something like "YES!! A sonic!!" Because I so rarely see the 'set used, and it really does help quite a bit. Especially when I played my Grav/FF... it made us all practically untouchable between the Def and Res.Sure I may be a little self-serving, but when I play my lowbie empath on virtue, I say things like how were the clear minds and did anyone not get their share of fortitude. Because, I know there IS a lot more than heal.
Funny thing was, too, one of the recent teammates said, did you notice the foes just seemed to melt? I thought, yep, it's called HOWL.
I also have a recently adapted policy of thanking the forcefielders, ice shields, sonic ringers and thermal shielders profusely. They make a lot of difference. -

Quote:If you take a look at other Power Pools, you will find that they are not composed entirely of powers that are unique to a single powerset. I hope something like this never happens (much as I hope that we never get a "Pistols Power Pool" as some have suggested). So I've been thinking that it would be awesome to have a Shields power pool. We already have fighting for if your character needs a little melee boost and medicine for the healing boost but not a pure defensive set. I'll be honest the real reason why I would is for aesthetics. There are so many cool looking elemental shields. Wouldn't it be nice to have an electric shield to match your electric armor or a dark shield too match your dark armor? I think it would be a very popular set for these reasons and could help balance out certain sets. It could look something like this:
Shield Deflection (6) Toggle: Self +DEF(Melee), +Res(Lethal, Smashing)
Shield Agility (6) Toggle: Self +DEF(Ranged), +Res(Defense Debuff)
Shield Cover (14) Toggle: Self +Def(AoE), +Res(Fire, Cold, Energy)
Shield Team (20) Toggle: PBAoE, Team (but not self) +DEF(All)
Anyway. Lots of people probably want a cool shield but not an entire power set, we're not all Captain American
Sincerely yours,
Blue Hue

P.S. I'm sorry if this is in the wrong spot. I'm a new player and first time poster to the forums. -
Quote:I really feel sorry for new players. There'll be some new stuff, but all the content from the previous events will also be around - not every player has seen it all
It seems every year they add more stuff... it's gotten to the point that unless you play a ton during the time of the event it will likely take more than that one year to achieve all of the different badges and such. My main redside badger is still in need of Ghosts and a few other things from last year... we shall see what exactly got added. -
I have never really thought about what my main would be like as an evil version... much less what to name him. But, considering his backstory it would be really easy. Instead of him reacting to being bullied when younger in the way that he did (and becoming a champion of the powerless and bullied) he would simply become an oppressor to all those who could hurt others. Sorta like an overzealous protector. Then, I am sure he would get drunk on power and become what he hated.
On another note, I do have a character from Praetoria... my Huntsman [Agent Vermilion]. He is the Praetorian version of Viridian. Except he is now here on Primal Earth pretending to be evil so that he can report back to Longbow. It was an idea cooked up by Tina MacIntyre and Maria Jenkins when they found the Praetorian Viridian and Shadow Spider (Shadow Spider [aka Agent Tyrian] is played by my significant other). It would be odd if he went rogue... as then there would be two evil Viridians on Primal Earth... both of whom would be working for Arachnos. -
Quote:True enough, but I wasn't judging by the oldness of the band/song itself, but from my perception of how old most people are who LIKE that band. So, stating that you like old songs doesn't much change how I would go about guessing how old you are.Yeah, judging someone's age by their taste in music is not all that accurate, as Peter and the Wolf by Prokofiev is my all-time favorite piece of music, and that's quite a bit older than I am.
Am I frequently wrong? You bet I am. But, the way in which you think I am doing it, isn't how I was going about it. -

Quote:I turned my rep off the moment that I noticed it. It seemed like it would be ridiculous, and full of comments who think their opinion is waaaay more important than it is. And I was right. That's actually why I keep reputation hidden - it's not realistic. And mine is positive, mind you, so I'm not hiding from bad rep. In fact, I was kind of surprise it wasn't negative, given how confrontational I can be.
More importantly, though, I enjoy reading the comments that come with itSure, sometimes they bug me, but at the very basis of it, they are a control mechanism which gives me feedback for my actions, and anything is easier to do when you get feedback from it.
To confirm this, I have been negative repped for the content of my signature image (not even that it was bad, just that they didn't like it) and also with no comment at all (just a hyphen). I have been positive repped for no reason, and also with naught but a smiley face. The system is arbitrary, and the only reason I pay attention at all, is it reminds me where I have posted and sometimes (albeit rarely) the comments are actually entertaining. -

I don't quite know what to say to that.

Quote:So very right!I can't believe we're actually arguing on whether or not proper writing is optional.
English is not my primary language. But even I believe that correct use of grammar, spelling, and format plays a primary role in communication. I don't even think there should be a discussion on this.
If you wanna communicate like a 12-year-old girl texting on her pink cell phone, go right ahead. But don't expect people to have any desire in reading what you have to say, interacting with you, or consider you intelligent. -
