Quote:I thought Crey's Folly didn't go toxic waste dump until the Rikti explodinated it?Crey definitely has powerful legal, and possibly media control. There's a whole zone gone toxic wasteland thanks to Crey and folks knew the truth enough to call it Crey's Folly. Despite this, Crey still exists and is even considered "friendly" by most? Definitely information control.

Quote:Pretty sure the post to which you were replying was heavily tongue in cheek. Could be that I read it incorrectly.Except that lore wise, they are magic

Quote:Of course that is possible. However, I wish that people (not specifically the OP) would stop trying to do things that the game doesn't make easy, concept-wise, and then complain about it.Because theres no way a 18th century wild west hero could be ripped through a portal in time to end up in a modern day setting... Or a normal human have extensive realistic military training in a superhero setting..../rolleyes
Is it so hard to look at what is available, and THEN create a character concept? This is exactly the reason that I didn't really use Power Customization much yet, most ALL of my characters had been created in such a way as to utilize the powers AS THEY WERE.
--------
This game should allow me to create a Forensic Accountant. Let's name him Jerry. Jerry has no superpowers, and is a pacifist. He wins against supervillains by testifying in court regarding their illegal business deals, and failure to pay federal taxes. Why am I not allowed to make him in this game, there should be a Pacifism primary, and an Accounting secondary so that I can create this character. It is ridiculous that this game can't make exactly what I want, genre be damned. -
My most common is mutant, followed closely by natural and tech. Magic is by far my least frequently used. And I have a hard time coming up with concepts I like that are purely science-y and NOT technological.

Woot, vindicated AND quoted by a redname! Do I get a cookie now?

One question I have been pondering: Can a given character STAY a Rogue/Vigilante and NEVER complete the transformation into a Hero/Villain?

I would hope that any even passingly non-moronic GM would laugh at such a petition, and perhaps pass action against the petioner, and NOT the petionee.

I think they mean from a strictly numbers perspective. It does the most resisted damage type, and overall isn't a stand-out among the cute little initialisms that get flashed around (mainly on the Scrapper boards).

Quote:While I am personally all for this idea, I have to take a stab at this here challenge.I dare someone to come up with a negative to this one that has more weight then "But I want the devs to work on myyyyy idea!"
Ummmm...
Hmmm, maybe... Well, the best I can come up with is that it will ruin the advantage of the ever-vigilant to be there first and solo GMs, and get to be the team leader... Or, possibly, that it will be technically infeasible.
Really, though, I don't think there is a real negative response. -
Quote:Of course, now you can just use the handy-dandy [Save] and [Load] options available on any tailor screen. Way easier. But, I've been there done that as well before it was an option.I've remade plenty of toons over the past 5 years. If I really like a look, and not sure if I'd remember every detail on a redo, I take the toon to costume shop, go through every click and wirte them down. Most pieces have two bubbles to fill with color, so I use a simple column/row set for colors on all the parts. For example, (7,2)(6,5), means I look at color chart, count over to the 7th Column, then go down to Row 2, and that is Bright Red for my first color. Over to 6th Column, and down to Row 5 for my second color which is Bright Yellow. Then I click the sliders, and draw similar slider charts for the face and body details (if I had adjusted them originally).
I have deleted and re-rolled characters as high as 22. I think I dumped a 30 once, but I could just totally be making that one up... -
Quote:I don't want new zones... We have enough zones.I can not help it. When people even hint that they would rather people go to IP AGAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN for the 90 bajillionth time to travel across that zone 45 gragillion more times it makes me want to vomit.
We need New zones with New stuff to do. Period. I would be happy if some world event happeneds and IP got sucked into a black hole... and then could suck Boomtown into that same hole... and maybe half of the Shard...
I want all the zones we have to be as well done as we are expecting the new content in GR to be. Period. Best of both worlds, IMO. -
Quote:Right, sounds legit to me.Personally, if you are willing to give it up, because you're a good person and not using it for 'x' amount of time, or whatever, it doesn't become your name any more. It becomes mine to do with as I please. In which, if I chose to post the name on the Virtue Name Watch and trade it off to another, there should not be any complaints for said original owner. Right?

Quote:If you were going for Anti-Matter, then you are spot on. I only suggested Perplex because it has a tech-y line sorta thing going on.(Not sure about the pattern, though. I mean, he's dressed as Anti-Matter, not Posi, and last time I saw him A-M's texture was just the grey-to-blue Blend. Mind you, I haven't seen him in a while, maybe they've updated him like they did Posi?)
Also, many NPCs are freakishly tall compared to your average 6-foot tall hero. -

Quote:If It makes you feel better, I did the same.Is it bad that I'm so prepared to expect people to only be negative about the devs or the game that when someone says nice job I assume it's meant sarcastically...?
And though I think the new event is fun... I kinda wish that the idea had been saved for some other Event, and repurposed. Halloween is getting a bit bloated with content. -
Quote:You had me listening until the last paragraph. "Because some other MMO does it" is a ridiculous reason to institute something in this game.I'd like to be able to transfer influence, IOs, etc, between characters. I know there are 'tricks' you can do but they aren't always easy, let alone always successful. Theres trading but I don't trust many people, even in my supergroup
.
Other MMOGs offer a wide variety of ways to transfer between characters, from mail to shared banks, etc. Can we get something on CoH already?
Also, as has been mentioned, somehow, CoH has survived sans said feature for 5 years now.
Thirdly, a quibble about your thread title. Don't use "we." You don't speak for all of us, as, obviously, some of the forum goers are bound to disagree with you. Also, "need" is a tad hyperbolic. A better title, would have been "I want an easy way to transfer... blah blah." -
Only way to be closer, is to be a bit taller and use the Perplex pattern in neon.
Weird that they asked you to change your name though. I had no idea that happened. -
Quote:First question: They are part of the PPD faction and are seen far more commonly redside. Like the Pirate costume.Okay, so in the early trick-or-treating, I've already gotten a few costumes, all of which I recognize from various NPC groups (most of them bad guys), but....
Where on Earth (or Paragon City) do you find NPCs actually wearing the PPD Hardsuit costume? (And why don't we have some of the same pieces sans Police logo as costume options in creation? I especially like the armored legs...)
Second question: I have no idea, but DO WANT! -
It is an annoying event to complete properly.
Gratz. -
Doubt if they are broken, per se. With that said, it is fairly common for the Rewards to not award... for some reason.
File a /petition NOT a bug report, and it should get taken care of in short order... assuming you didn't go inactive for a period of time, and thus messing with the date on which your Reward appears.
Also, just what aside from the team name bug has i16 messed up? -
There is, of course, this:
Quote:Now, Darrin saying this may be a bit telling. Perhaps he IS Kuuralath, the Scavenger. It would make sense, he does seem to be obsessed with scavenging for magical devices/objects.The first time with me, Darrin Wade, is always memorable.
I've seen things that would make a normal man curl up into the fetal position and rip his eyes out. I've walked on the backs of giants and drunk from the rivers of Avalon.
The simple man you see before you is only a single facet of my being.
This would also make sense as to why he is a part of a Rularuu Cult. Perhaps his ultimate desire is to "scavenge" all the artifacts (i.e. aspects) of Rularuu, and therefore be able to finish the puzzle, as it were.
Also, I don't think anyone has mentioned this particular write-up on the wiki:
Quote:Ruladak the Strong: The leader of the Brutes is a most fearsome tyrant. Ruladak's robe is decorated with gems torn from the Brutes that have displeased him. The removal of the gem results in the Brute's immediate death and eternal dishonor, a fact that troubles Ruladak not in the slightest. Can be found in the Task Force: The Legend of Ruladak.
Chularn the Slave Lord: Chularn is an extremely cruel and twisted soul. The slaves that run his Factory Cubes look upon him with great awe and terror, and his barbarism has become legendary throughout the Shadow Shard. The Wisps he commands fare little better than these human slaves, and they have learned to obey Chularn without question. They watch over the Natterling scavengers and select the choicest items to improve the operation of the Factory Cubes.
Kuularth the Scavenger: Kuularth makes his nest in The Repository that feeds parts to the Factory Cubes. His Natterlings roam the Shadow Shard collecting anything and everything that could be useful. They are always accompanied by a Wisp, who Kuularth refers to as 'consultants.' The Wisps' master, Chularn, prefers to call them 'supervisors.'
Aloore the Watcher: Aloore is Rularuu's most trusted Field General. He guards The Palace and uses his Sentries to keep watch over the entire Shadow Shard. Of all Rularuu's fragments, Aloore is most similar to Rularuu himself. This makes him skilled and useful, but also dangerous, because Rularuu is not built for servitude.
Uuralur the Mirror: Uuralur presides over The Garden of Memories. The beings that reside there are reflections of the worlds that Rularuu has consumed, though it is unclear whether he created them out of remorse or amusement. Uuralur has organized many of these reflections into a guard force that patrols the area and keeps the remaining reflections in check.
Lanaru the Mad: The demented consciousness of Lanaru the Mad is so twisted by rage that it has wrenched itself free of Rularuu. His psychic instability has manifested as a permanent storm that surrounds his castle and himself. Can be found in the Task Force The Saga of Lanaru.
Faathim the Kind: Faathim the Kind's sole purpose in life is to protect the innocents of the Shadow Shard. He has worked hard to maintain his independence from Rularuu, despite his imprisonment in the Chantry. He has limited means of rebellion, but he uses his mighty healing powers to assist champions of good when he can. Can be found in the Task Force The Saga of Faathim, and is the contact for the Task Force The Saga of Lanaru.
