Quote:The difference is, the guide you propose will most likely educate someone about something they might not have done otherwise. The present conversation involves asking people to noticeably shift their online social behavior.Let's pretend for a minute that we're talking about the least-used powerset combo in the game. I have no idea what this combo is, so let's just call it X melee/Y armor. Or if you prefer, X support/Y blast. Or whatever.
What difference does writing a guide about X melee/Y armor, that a small percentage of the player base will read, and a presumably much smaller percentage will actually take to heart, and create a character because of it?
Same difference.
The difference being, one asks them to play the game, the other asks them to BE different in that game. Which do you think is more likely? -

It seems as if GG has a lot of information about a place she has yet to visit, and yet morally opposes.... I think, there is a disconnect there, someplace.
-
I have to agree that that type of behavior is in bad taste, and violates the rules that we players agree upon every time we log in... However, what difference does writing a guide that a small percentage of the player base will read, and a presumably much smaller percentage will actually take to heart, and change their in-game attitude over?

Quote:Actually, I would have made that same comment... were it not made already, that is."srs bsns. Also, "could of" doesn't mean anything. It's could *have*."
Are you freaking serious?
If you are going to post a "guide" it should be professional in appearance, and at least somewhat serious in tone. Yours is one, but not quite the other.
Also, might I inquire as to what prompted this "guide" in the first place? Anyone who disagrees with you and doesn't care, will continue to not care, IMO, and those who agree... well, they are already following your "guide" to the letter anyway. -
So... how is this NOT a compare-contrast thread when the first thing you do after stating as much is to COMPARE and CONTRAST?

A screen cap would probably help. That way perhaps your problem could be diagnosed via the visual, else, post a HijackThis and a CoH Helper log file (least I think those are the right names).

Honestly?
I think it would be stupid to give Blasters melee weapons that they couldn't use in melee. A wand or something like that would be perfectly cool.
As far as I am concerned the Devs opened this door when they introduced alternate animations for powers in i16. -
It seems to me that if they make it a primary for controllers, there is almost no way that the could make a secondary that wouldn't just be ridiculous amounts of control... In other words, I don't think trollers will get Dark Miasma, ever.

Quote:Not to mention how sexy all of Cole's loyal followers are...There's an old saying, "If ain't broke, don't fix it." I see no problems with Emperor Cole's regime. Why should I trade security and comfort for the resistance's failures and chaos. I'm more than willing to do my part in maintaining order in Praetoria.
Maelstrom seems tasty!

"Force Ball"
At any rate, at the time Willpower and Dual Blades were a part of the survey, one of the options was a Force Field defense set... obviously it didn't win. IIRC, it wasn't even in the top 5. -
To Darkness3221:
Very nice of you there, jerk.
He can't be bothered to make his character to your standards... and you apparently can't be bothered to even approximate proper English. I would call that about even. And I have to laugh at the incredible hubris of refering to yourself as a "MIDs Genius."
BTW, excellent Forum PvP there.
To the OP:
I do have to laugh that you actually said "Purp me, baby" as if that will really spur on someone to waster there time creating a build for you, when you have all the tools available to do it yourself. -

If you are serious, that is some serious LOLing that I should be doing right about now.

Tengentially: Wouldn't it also behoove you to go for +HP as a secondary way to increase your Regen?

Secure our way of life, sisters and brothers.

Happy to be of asisstance to those who are loyal to Praetoria's savior.
