You are now informed. Be prepared.
That converts to the 21st of February, 2013 for those who can't do math.

Rush must be one of those folks who argues that February doesn't exist on account of the extra R that people forget, or that it isn't long enough to be a real month (like Pluto isn't large enough to be a real planet), and so ascribe to the 59-day January approach.

I dont have any experience with it because my buddy had a 50 Ranter but deleted cause it sucked. Maybe if you had Mids we could see your build and give some advice. Really though, the nerd-rant power set sucks, maybe you should just delete your account and reroll a Thought-out/Informed rant?
    Win.
  3. My point was that your logic on [Burn] is faulty. You are saying that SC is just right, and so Burn should do more damage. I am saying that SC does too much damage considering it is not in an offensive set, and therefore there is no reason to buff Burn.

I have seen un-IOed Fire Tanks do just fine, and have no complaints with the leveling I have done with Fire Aura (though I admit that it wasn't very much). I think your issue is not in the set itself, but in your expectations. AKA, operator error.

Also, you draw a comparison between Regen and Fire with regard to taking the Alpha. How is this comparison valid? When is it the job of a Scrapper to take the Alpha?

Finally, the thing that bugs me the most about your tl;dr-inspiring post is that it comes off like a mean-spirited rant founded on entitlement. If you really want to affect change in this set that you apparently dislike, then try removing all opinion and conjecture from your post. Perhaps then it will at least feign persuasive ability.

    I only got this far...

Shield Charge, IMO is the power that needs to be fixed. It does far too much damage when one considers its placement in a Defensive Set.

Also, I don't think "irrelevant" means what you think it does, or you need to figure out double negatives. It might also behoove you to avoid throwing in terms like "bulls---" (or its euphemistic abbrevation) into what should be a convincing argument.

Doing the math based on guesstimates of the numbers... yes, yes I do mean that. Darn math .

    Quote:
PS. the giant column isn't causing a distortion per se, it's just making the scale harder to interpret if you are trying to compare the other numbers.
Well, that seems to be a bit of semantics to me. Don't distortions obscure things? And aren't we trying to see where we sit now, versus the past?

Also, I didn't mean to imply that TonyV was trying to mislead anyone. Just that if our aim is to see "now," it would seem to me that CoV would get in the way of that.

You will never see a Defender turned down for a Corruptor, or a VEAT turned down to get another Controller, etc. A lot of leaders I regularly run with answer "what should I bring?" with "whatever you like".

People who are extremely picky about ATs (We need a tank! We need a kin! blah blah) tend to be poor players, the complete opposite of min-maxing speedrunners. Therefore, likeliest change: incompetents
Hmmmm, while I agree with you... I took Alpha to mean that the "best" combination for a min-max/speedrun would change, due primarily to different options becoming available... not that they would necessarily become more discerning. I could be wrong.

    [Edit]
Nevermind that. I did some amateur Paint editing to take out the first part of the graph. Then, I made the scale go from 4000 to 8000. The following graph plays up the irregularities, and makes the image a bit less "average."

Also, I added a red horizontal line to compare where we are "now" to past sales. As was stated, '07 was lower, but almost negligibly so.

If we assume for a moment that this data roughly reflects subscriptions (dubious at best) then the real issue is found entirely in the last 4 bars. It seems like a good 15-20% loss. That would, indeed, contribute to the feelings that abound on the forums.

  8. I don't play on your server of choice, I have never teamed with you... and you prolly don't have a clue who I am.

With that said, your consistent forum presence will be missed greatly, not only by me (and prolly PK) but by many others as well.

After that it's a trade off based on how convenient the location is versus how often I play them. For the characters I play frequently I tend to focus on the day jobs that are easily found in a lot of zones or are easy to get to (commuter, monitor duty, the ouroborus one etc.). For characters that I rarely play I focus on getting the ones in inconvenient locations (mortician, Cimerorian, dimensional explorer etc.).
    This, this entirely.

I mostly agree. However, I will be bringing a few Heroes redside. A Warshade, possibly my PB... The Dual Pistols character I make... My main will become a vigilante for badging...

I only plan to move one or two villains, possibly only my villain badger (but he will only go rogue, not full hero).

Taking this out of context, will lead me to disagree. Some people are better than others. No, we are not all equal.

It's a Teen rated game, yes and it's not appropriate when there may be younger players or RPers around but in private who is it hurting? I think perhaps even the gms and mods may agree with me on that term, if it's kept private then it's not a big deal.
Whether it is public or private is irrelevant. This is a Teen rated game, yes, but more importantly, this is not a public arena where our "rights" are held... It is a private venue owned completely by Paragon Studios. They, and not us, get to decide what is and isn't allowed. In so saying, we as players do not have the right to say whatever we want, regardless of "consent" status, or any other factor. They make the rules, period. So, this particular point is moot.

And here, apparently, is where the hypocrisy comes in, eh? You are asking people not to judge one another, but then you imply that those who disagree with you are prudes? Nice.

Again, my thing is that I don't understand the high and mighty attitude in relations to this. Why cause a lot of drama insulting and berating someone for something they're doing in private?
Perhaps the issue comes down to age. If most of the players of this game are 20+ (which you claim, but I have no actual idea about) then most folks did not grow up accustomed to full internet dating, much less pretendy sex. I know I still get weird looks from my peers that I met my BF online. And I am only 27. So, it may just be an age gap issue.

However, to interject just a touch of my own opinion on this issue, for once, I do have to agree with the above poster who said it is just weird for folks to be pretending to be opposite genders + or - 20 years of their true age, and in some cases differing orientations, and then making pretendy sex with superheroes in a pocket dimensional nightclub... I swear, that that was so NOT the developers' intended purpose for this game.

  17. Odd, I transferred all of my villains to Justice... that was like 10 or so characters.

He said that "content" varies by he who consumes it. And you go on to define content in your own way. I think that Power Customization is a wealth of content... why? Because it increased the number of character concepts I can realize in this game, which for me, is the only real "content" I need.

Do I like doing new missions with new ATs on new maps versus new enemies? You bet I do, but what I really like about this game is the literally millions of ways I can make an image of a character in my head come to life. And as long as I play this game, I will be able to do that.
  19. The only idea I can come up with is to rotate the Base Entrance... but it would be nearly impossible to determine which way you rotated it, and where it is currently pointing.

So, try that. But I think the real answer might be "no."

    Sonic / Devices

Travel is very much up to the individual player. A lot of people consider Super Jump to be the best because of the defense pre-req, Combat Jumping, and also it gets you to Acrobatics, which is useful if you don't have the cash for a -KB IO. I really like all of the travel powers, but to me, Super Speed is the bottom of the pile, really, as it has no vertical mobility. Teleport is by far the fastest travel power in the game, but it takes a bit of practice to get used to and is sort of an endurance hog before you throw an End Redux in it. Also, TONS of people dip into Speed if only to grab Hasten, so you made a good pick with that one.

However, there's really no need to pick up a second travel power. At least, most folks don't. However another pool you may want is Fitness (for Stamina).

Oh, one more thing, bookmark this site, love this site: http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Main_Page

It puts practically every bit of information about this game at your fingertips.

  22. I know this doesn't necessarily help you, but I think she looks pretty good as is. The "appendages" really resemble the fungus itself, and the zombie look goes along with her being taken over, at least in part, by the fungus herself.

What you may want to do, though, is give her a tattered robe or trench instead of the motorcycle jacket. Outside of that, I think she pretty much embodies (heh, pun) the concept you seem to be going for VERY well.

I guess I don't really get this constant cry for more content. I am as anxious as the next guy to see GR come out... like yesterday even, but I still have tons of things to do in this game that I haven't done. You can't tell me that you have totally finished everything you could possibly want to do already? At the very least, I am sure there is a character you have thought about making, but have not... well, bucko, now is the time to do so.
