Where in that definition was the word "all" used, exactly?
  2. Okay... now that I have played the Traps set, I have come up with a failing in the current scheme of icons in CoH...

There are two very different ways that a Location-based (Summon or AoE) power is handled. One of which summons the object/pet at the exact spot you are standing... and another brings the targetting reticle and allows the player to "place" the location of the summon.

I propose that the icon make this difference in funcionality apparent.

    Therefore, include:
and to show when a power summons a reticle...

    and use:
and when no reticle is created.

Of course, this would be kind of a lot of work for you, changing everything from [Triage Beacon] to [Rain of Fire] but, to me, it would be worth it.

Edit: Speaking of [Triage Beacon] shouldn't it have the teammates-only ring as well as the AoE and Placeable Summon rings?

Yes, it kinda does. Saying you are better than someone, and more moral than them, even if true, kinda diminishes your point, doesn't it?

Also, that is a juvenile interpretation of an anarachist. Anarchy has more to do with disrupting organized society... not disregarding all "rules" just because they are "rules."
  4. I have to ask, regarding this:

Yeah, when I copied it and tossed it in Word, it read just fine. Odd that it didn't in the browser. Dang work computers.

That's not what I said. I didn't say "I never got interrupted, while trying to AS." I said that I (me) never had an issue with it. AKA, I never felt it was a problem.

Also, I guess you skipped over the part where I immeadiately gave an exception after saying "never." Seriously, though, I suppose I should spell out what I meant: I have never had such an issue with ASing a target that I have grown frustrated enough to switch to a different character, or make a plee for change on the forums. And, for the record, I was talking about large teams, as that was the focus of the discussion, wasn't it?

(Also, I don't think "incredulous" means what you think it does, or at least isn't the part of speach you think it is.)

I guess you skipped over the part...(which "usually" means set IO's)...I'm certain an SR has a much easier time capping defense without set IO's than any of the resist sets. And you admit yourself that you wouldn't play a resist based armor set on a Stalker...so how's that increased damage output working out for them?
Ummm, by much easier, you must mean "still impossible." Unless you know a way to run [Elude] perma without IOs. SRs get very good defensive numbers with just SOs, but they don't hit 45% without some serious outside-the-Secondary influences. In fact, I am not sure it is possible (someone with Mids, please check on that).

With regard to the not playing of a Resistance Based Armor Stalker? Well, it has a lot more to do with their lowish HP, and not much at all to do with whether or not I can pull off an AS or not. For a Defense character, the magnitude of the hit is irrelevent if it doesn't hit. For a Resistance character? The magnatude is ALWAYS relevant. That difference right there keeps me away from them. It is also why I don't like playing Blasters all that much (not much protection). Unfortunately, in this game, Defence will almost always trump Resistance, it's just how it is. I don't see that changing for Stalkers (or anything else) in the nearish future.

The easy fix is to remove the interuptabilty of AS in PvE. It still has a long cast time and rooting animation to balance out the high damage value. The only thing this change would do is allow Stalkers (read ALL Stalkers not just the capped out defense based armors) the OPTION of using AS/Placate in a large melee environment.
Though it may not be the best fix. Or a needed fix. Also, it is odd that you keep making it seem like the only Stalker that can use AS is one sitting at 45% Defense. This is hyperbole, plain and simple.

Also, how do you know if it is an "easy" fix (insert Standard Code Rant here). Lastly, allow me to be as literal in the interpretation of your post as you were of mine. Does the button for AS on a Resistance Stalker disappear when it enters combat? No? Are you sure? Yes. Then all Stalkers do have the option to use AS, now don't they?
  14. I shall refer you to the link in my sig. They have helped many a person in search of costume assistance! Good luck.

I have played an SR Stalker to 50, and never had an issue with ASing except when faced with KoA (Caltrops) or sometimes enemies that use burn patches. And to me, those are acceptable, albeit annoying, exceptions. I don't use set IOs. All he has are SOs and Common IOs. So, I see your anecdotal evidence, and disprove it with my own anecdotal evidence.

Also, I am currently leveling a Nin Stalker, and have not had any problems with him either.

And as for being invited to SFs? I have found many teams glad to have me, if not for my combat ability (haha) than for Stealth. It is nice to have on many SFs.

What I can agree with you on is that there are issues with a Stalker running Resist based Armors. Simply put, I will not play one. After this current stalker hits 50, I will likely give up on Stalker-ing until another good Defense set comes along for them.

  18. Very nice looks, mousedroid and Mortal_Prey!!

I can't say I have ever seen a Longbow Crabspider before.

And mouse? I think your costumes are pretty much spot on!
  19. Two-fold, I would guess:

    1) The Well of the Furies is magical in nature.

    2) We may not be getting an Incarnate Origin in the near future (or ever) and so they don't want to even have to deal with the "hey look, Tyrant is an Incarnate too... maybe we will get that in GR."

And it is also a failing in the service industry. Sometimes your customer is a moron and expects too much. Sometimes, IMO, it is okay to tell them they are an idiot, and there is no way in heck that you, or anyone else, is going to accomodate them.

I know of TONS of examples from the restaurant industry in which a manager was forced to give-in to some ridiculous situation due to not upsetting the customer. Well, as far as I see it, some customers are okay to lose... especially if it costs you almost as much to keep them happy as they bring in to the business.

I recall the lady who upon being asked what she wanted to drink stated she only wanted a water. And a couple of lemons. The server, thinking she meant a couple slices, brought her that. No, what she wanted, was literally a few lemons so that she could use the complimentary sugar to make herself a glass of lemonade: for free, using products intended as free items going along with expensive bar drinks and the occassional soda drinker (who is paying huge markup on that soda).

The sad part? The manager was forced to not charge her, because there is no "button" for lemons, they are given away for free, afterall. But me, I would say that for all intents and purposes she was abusing the system and thusly should get charged for a glass of lemonade. But that's me.

Ahem. Sorry for the tangent, but talk of "customer service" the service industry and references to "the customer is always right" kinda get me peaved.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled thread, already in progress.

While this is a good point, I would think he means that on his magical "Adults Only" Server, the rules would be such that you could have "bad words" in your name and the Mods would not generic... because it is allowed, regardless of if there is a petition or not.

I can't imagine I ever will. I don't use "naughty" concepts in my names, and I don't do character plagiarism... so... I can't see how I will get smacked with one.
