*immature giggle* Interesting choice of words there.
*ahem* At any rate, that sounds entertaining... I am a lurker of that particular channel but rarely say much of anythin on account of not really knowing anyone on it except for the person from the forums who invited me in the first place. Perhaps I could convince my BF to play a bit that evening with me? -
Does healing the reactor with the temp. power during a Terra Volta Respec Trial count toward the badge?

Quote:I realized that as I tried to come up with a list. Mostly I was posting to just give a little hint at a "devil's advocate"-type response. However, one can also point out that if you really looked at it, some of the current boards could be consolidated. All of these have proper places already...in order of your suggestions:
- supergroup recruiting forum
- RP forum
- general city-life forum/comics forum
- player questions/general city-life forum
- suggestions forum

Quote:Thanks for that. I guess I was most taken aback by the comment because I don't see you as the type of person who usually "goes off" about things like that. And if you do, it usually takes quite a bit to do so. And, actually, I think I recall the poster you were thinking of. Definitely was a nuisance and posting A LOT about the same "issue."My apologies, Thirty-Seven. I have confused you with someone else who kept publicly asking about the validity of the third-party overlay aids. Sorry to snap at you like that.
Quote:However, to the point in question: If it leaks to Open Beta or Live, then, it's now public info. And if the information can be gained in the game on Live or Open Beta with the bracket hyperlink (e.g., [Shadowy Presence]), then it's public info and no one's getting in trouble for repeating or reposting it. -
Quote:Unfortunately, the problem arises when different interpretations of the act come into play. You may look at it as "kindness" because it offers a buff, and buffs improve your stats, and bigger numbers are good. However, others look at it as tantamount to "griefing" due to their stats being impacted at all. They like the challenge or want to test a build in a give situation, and adjusting variables outside their control is an annoyance. In a similar way, some have issues with the visual, and still others suffer from performance issues that make the Fool buff almost as big of a hinderance as Speed Boost.Eesh, complaining about drive-by buffing/healing is really obnoxious - someone does a random act of kindness and everyone immediately latches onto to some incredibly minor detail to ***** about. Admittedly the fool thing can be very slightly annoying in very certain circumstances, but what can you do? There's a million possible bad things that could happen, you just learn to deal with them.
Therefore, either give ALL buffs the ability to be cancelled by the player, or leave it as it is now and give NONE of them that ability. Changing just [Mystic Fortune] is stupid, IMO. -
Quote:You misinterpreted my intention (and also quoted me before I edited the post to adjust the phrasing a bit). I wasn't attempting to chastize anyone for anything, merely pointing out the technicality of the rules... and thereby strengthening my reasoning for abstaining from further comment. Besides, if I really had that much of a problem with it, would I have posted that comment at all?You need to really lay off playing EULA cop because you can't seem to abide the grey areas that exist in any legal system. If you think someone broke the EULA, then report it and walk away from it. Stop trying to create public trials out of it.
Furthermore, I don't recall the last time I pulled the EULA out to create a "public trial." You imply that it is a frequent occurrence on my part. -
Quote:By that same logic, the picture, level and location of that character are irrelevant also? Perhaps, instead of the name (since you can get that in-game too) there should just be an arbitrary number assigned to each character. That way, the Character select list would look like this:It's unnecessary, since you can just log in to see what powersets the character has.

Origin related issues?
But seriously, that would be a good place to recruit for SGs with a given origin theme... also a place to RP within a given type perhaps, perhaps a philosophical discussion about what differentiates Sci, Tech and Nat origins, perhaps which of the origins is the most cost effective in terms of plentiful Enhancer drops/location of stores, suggestions for making origins mean a bit more in game? -
Yes, I have seen both sets... but can't say or post anything about either without sanction from the moderators (in fact, the one who put the info on [Shadowy Presence] up on the site that was linked to could be in trouble... technically).
-
And IMO, that is ridiculous and serves to back up the flow of actual bugs! Now the people who have to sort through those things have to deal with a bunch of reports for something that they not only know about, and did intentionally, but ISN'T a bug!

As mature as the rest of your argument seems to be, it bothers me that you would use the word "retarded" in such a way. If you mean "stupid" say that, don't use a legitimate diagnosis for those who are developmentally disabled as a synonym for idiotic. Just as one shouldn't say "gay" in that same way, for that same reason. It perpetuates negative stereotypes.

For clarity, this is referring to the point at which the player's avatar enters Cimerora. One gets trapped beneath the crystal and can only get out with a lot of jumping and moving around. It is a giant PITA. Also, conventional methods to fix it (/stuck) are ineffective.

Quote:...which is a poor example. One of those was done exclusively for Stalkers, who, I assume, got Ninja Blade instead of Katana as it sounded a bit more villainous, and had that Nin(ja Blade)/Nin(jitsu) thing going for it. I would assume, that if the Stalkers were to be created for the first time tomorrow... that the Devs would simply port Katana whole cloth.I think it's suitably different enough to warrant it's own set. Think of the differences between Katana and Ninja Blade.
... You realize that the 3 VEAT versions count as one power right? Because you can't take more than one at a time, and they are all exactly the same power that are only in three "different" sets due to how VEATs operate (and to limit re-draw), not because they wanted three different sets to have WAWG. -
Quote:Notice that one of those you won't have until 40+, three are the same power, and another one won't be available until after 35. I think I see a lot of downtime pre-35, and spamming [Provoke] over and over again (while certainly not stupid) doesn't feel like one is doing much. Maybe that's just me.Force bolt, provoke, repulsion bomb, provoke, patron immob, and provoke. You should have plenty to do
Totally agreed there. -

Take a page out of the design book of the buildings in inFamous for an example of exactly how cool that could look!

Translating:
Quote:I am posting this in response to an idea brought up in another thread. I thought of a few interesting ideas.
- A power that lets you transform into an animal (completely) with various attacks. (being made possible via booster pack(s))
- An Animal Trainer powerset for MMs. (Summon various animals to attack your opponents.)
- A Beast power AT might work, IMO. (Transform into one or more animals each with their own slottable attacks. In a similar way as the various Kheldian forms work. Making most other clicky and toggled powers temporarily unavailable of coarse)
Quote:Ah, that's right the animal models themselves. Though that does bring up an interesting issue. CoH/V is almost completely bereft of ordinary animal models. We have just a few birds and flies. I'm not even sure if you can count the shoulder cat (Costume piece) [Editor's Note: that last translation took a LONG time for me to determine. I did not have a clue what a "solder cat peace" was.] And it would probably require a lot of different animals not just the basic 6 but more if you want to make animals part of the MM powerset. Falcons, Snakes, etc. [Editor's Note: Was also very confused why there was a SnakeSpit.exe file listed here] Even more if you wanted to choose what animals you commanded. Tier 2 could have Lions with more attack [EN: than what?]. Tigers with better stealth [EN: Since we don't yet have tigers in-game, I wonder what their stealth will be better than]. More still if you included the option for mythical animals! Even more if you added alternate versions of them, for instance: custom colors, zombie, cyborg, alien, skeleton or robot.
That's why I mentioned the Booster pack. A new power could be rolled out that is a single basic [Animal Summon] power. Something to use on a trial or basis for future attempts. -
Maybe playing an MM with FF has converted me to the "dark side," but I don't get this statement. I simply don't have enough powers to be using things outside of my personal attacks when things are recharging or NOT needing to be bubbled.
-
It seems to me, that this should be a suggestion for an Animation Customization option for TA, and not it's own set. It isn't different enough, IMO, to warrant its own set.

I don't know how to express my distaste with this suggestion in a productive way... so I will let other posters do the rude for me. That is all.

Quote:A few notes about Servers and sizes thereof.I'd recommend picking one of the servers with a higher population, such as Freedom, Virtue, or Infinity(?). Anyone know if there is a server that's particularly beginner friendly?
Firstly, Infinity is no longer in the top 3 as far as I can tell. Lately the top 5 servers in population have been a lot more fluid, but Freedom and Virtue are still solidly at the top. Justice has waned slightly too, but it is clearly bigger than Infinity (at least as far as I can tell).
Secondly, about a "newb friendly" server? I don't think there is one specifically. However, if your attitude is right it could be any server there is (except probably Freedumb). As long as the OP is as friendly and nice in-game as we have seen here, he/she shouldn't have a single problem. Asking questions as opposed to demanding info will get you far. In fact, I just gfriended a new player in-game, being careful to add appropriate stars and the note: "New, but very willing to learn, fun, and asks all the right questions." To me, it is all about how you ask and what you ask that matters. Say, for instance, you don't really know what to do as a Corruptor. Asking, "can you suggest some good powers I should take as a Corruptor?" is far better than saying: "Tell me how the h*** ya make dis s*** work!!?!"
To the OP:
IMO, server size seems to be inversely proportional to nice players, and directly proportional to jerks and morons. The best bet, as far as I would ever recommend to a new player, is to start on a server that is more middle of the road... and then one can adjust to a bigger server or smaller server as desired. Sooooo, hit up Justice, Infinity or maybe Champion? -
I must be the only weird one who uses: */Elec and */En to refer to those sets. It completely takes the ambiguity out of the system. *shrug*
