  1. I'm looking do the first respec fairly shortly with Sonara (Lv27 Kin/Elec Defender) and I need some enterprising young heroes to help me out. Sidekicks welcome (numbers permitting). I'm fairly open as to times - any weekday evening after 5pm or most of the weekends (Although this weekend I'm not going to be around as much as usual).

    So, anyone interested?
  2. Through no fault of my own I ended up with both Super Speed and Superjump on my Warshade, which helped take the sting out of TP (Not that it's bad, it's just a lot of effort to use ).

    I was forced to take Super Speed after then rendered Nebulous Form useless with the timed toggle [censored] so that I could stack it with Shadow Cloak for Invisibility (and I already had Hasten).

    I had to take SJ to get Acrobatics and I needed 3 powers for my last 3 choices that didn't need any slots (I didn't have any left anywhere) so the CJ/SJ/Acro seemed the obvious choice

    I know, my point was that you really don't need stamina once you've got Transference, so there's no need to take it unless you really can't find any other power to take in its place.

  6. Seriously, the difference is phenomenal - I've gone from running of end in any protracted fight to not running out once - and I haven't even slotted Transference for End Mod yet.

    Swift is handy to have on top of Siphon Speed and Hurdle is equally handy to add onto Inertial Reduction, but neither are required.

    Here's my build for a sort of comparison (I've got the Elec secondary, but the primary should be fairly similar). Ignore the slotted as it's designed for post-transference - hence the lack of endurance reduction enhancements in the powers.

    Pool-wise I've taken Swift & Hurdle along with Assault, Tactics and Vengeance. Some may question the usefulness of Vengeance but I needed a power for that slot and I figure that sooner or later it's all going to hit the fan and someone will die - so you might as well use that to buff the hell out of the rest of the team.

    I went with the Psychic APP on the advice of Wilf as Mass Hypnosis will allow you to Fulcrum Shift/Siphon Power/Siphon Speed without generating aggro and Mind Over Body is a very good RES power and I can stack Dominate with Tesla Cage to hold bosses.

  7. You don't need Stamina if you take transference at as soon as you can (Lv26).

    Why do i pick
    -Siphon speed
    Because it increases your movement speed and recharge speed by 25% as well as reducing the speed of the target by 25%. You can also double stack it for a 50% buff/debuff (Triple stackable with Hasten for 75%)

    -Hasten
    IMO it's optional for a Kinetics build, but you can never have powers up and running fast enough.

    -Super speed
    There's no real need for any travel power with Kinetics, as long as you're happy with Superjump / Superspeed that need refreshing once a minute (not as bad as it sounds)

    -Reduce inertia
    Not only is it a free superjump (No pre-reqs) but it allows you to grant Superjump to other people - superspeeders and low levels will love you for it.

    Combat Jumping's DEF is minimal - it'll save you from about 2.5 hits out of every hundred up to 4/100 with 3 SOs. Statistically it's barely noticable, unless you've already got other DEF powers (Super Reflexes, Force Field Stone Armour or Ice Armour).
  8. That said, Transfusion is the single best AoE heal in the game - it's not far off Empathy's single target heal (Heal Other) for damage mitigation - and Transference (Properly slotted) will completely refill the end bars of everyone in range.

    If you read my post again, you'll see that I said "Until I7...Defence is inferior to Resistance as soon as you start facing mobs +2 or more to you"

    Right now, defence doesn't scale at all and the ToHit bonuses applied to higher level and rank mobs scale up worryingly fast. Since they started nerfing DEF values into the ground with I4, facing anything a couple of levels or more above you becomes a rather risky affair - especially if they're hard-hitting.
  10. Until I7, where the unique combination of lack of forethought and fudge will make Defence effectively identical to Resistance, Defence is inferior to Resistance as soon as you start facing mobs +2 or more to you.

    That said, it has its advantages - if you're not getting hit, you're not being hit by any secondary effects (Stuns/Holds/Debuffs/End Drain/Slows) etc. However, since I5 and ED effectively made it so that you can't cap your defence against anything meaningful any more, you're going to get it anyway, so that advantage has been greatly reduced.

    The other downside is that you have no recourse against auto-hit powers like caltrops or CoT auras. Hooray.

    Only if you have the spare slots. Well, actually, if you're making a more team-oriented character, you can always sacrifice damage enhancements for taunt enhancements, but that will hurt your soloing ability.

    just a quick question for ice melee blappers, the lvl 38 power "frozen aura" is it a hold or is it a sleep because the sites i been on to find out say it is a sleep and wil be wakened if attacked so surely isnt this a pointless tanker power?

    ice melee blappers with frozen aura let me know would ya cos i might make an invul/ice cos its good for AV's but if frozen aura is a sleep power it wont be as good.

  20. You can get The GIMP for Windows as well - never liked its interface though.

    Best thing I ever did was go to University and do a computer engineering degree - the number of discount software deals was fantastic. I got pretty much all the Microsoft Software I'll ever need plus all manner of other apps for next to nothing; and it was actually all legal software too

    Two thoughts:

    a) The main function is to take precicely enough %age aggro for the team. Enough that you and team will live. This %age alters according to team (scrappers? skwishies? other tanks), and the support you get from defenders / trollers.

    b) Ini certain situations, such as rad/dark debuffs, or with lots of AoE, it becomes more impertitive to cluster the targets tightly together.

    So tank tactics need to be flexible IMO.

    Well according to the Statesman School of Tanking, the main function is to engage whichever group of minions are least likely to hurt you while the rest of the team deal with the other mobs, then pop a few respites and go have a sit down.

    According to the Spad School of Tanking (Open during I3, now closed for renovations) the main function is to hold the entirety of the aggro for the team. Scrappers and Blasters are then free to engage without danger while defenders and controllers can concentrate on healing, buffs, debuffs and locking down the enemy. Should any mob attempt to escape, a quick taunt should bring them back in line - otherwise Char does wonders if they're determined to scarper. In the event that it all goes pear-shaped, the tanker goes down with the ship, so to speak, in the hope that the rest of the team can get away.

    Of course this can be insanely hard in I6 if your team are a bunch of muppets and still challenging if your team is only average. Put together a good or even excellent team, and you'll have no problems with the above.
