360 days for all the day job badges? erhhmm what? maybe thats abit too long

    [/ QUOTE ]

360 days? Yes, I agree with you. I'm not going to wait that long to get a badge and a small effect, devs. Perhaps if we wait that long we should get a long term goal, like, erm, free deodrant for after fighting the Vazhilok?

    (and yes, I am back)

    3 Things IMO.

1)Non-PvPing Badgers would kick off about badges being inaccessible.

2)It would potentially be possible to grind PvP badges with this by finding someone who will let you kill them over and over - see discussions regarding one of the villain badges now.

3)Elite PvPer would find ways to cheat or beat the system so that they get a ready supply of rare recipes.

So while I sort of like the idea it'd need work.

1st I'd make the board a weekly thing. Mainly because in a day period it would be easy to beat the system, while over a period of a week you would need to be good at PvP to make it work.

2nd I'd remove all but the collection badge (platinum) change the rest to titles that would only be active while you were in the position so if you were highest killer in all PC/RI you would have a title that only one person in the game could have. Which would give PvPers something to strive for... having a badge connected to how long you retain the unique title would be okay, the badge for overall killer would probably just from getting there but the zone/side killer titles would probably have to be retained for a while.

3rd Add a game play style that means you enter battle as part of a fixed team, like the 5 vs 5 Areana battles (or whatever they are) but make the team basis the SG. Then award titles for SG wins as above.

4th Add accolades that have only got PvP functions for attaining set titles. SGs would be able to earn these PvP accolades too and for them they'd get a base item to show off the prowess, base item would grant the bonus and it would apply to PvP with a much lower effect (10% of the PvP bonus) in PvE.

5th Retain the board idea, and have it semi live so you can see where you are on the board, who is in the lead. At the end of the week it would update to show the new leaders etc. Could even attach a bounty system similar to sirens Call to it where the previous weeks winners attract a better reward for being killed than normal players.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    1) Badgers who aren't a Emp or don't have the Medicine pool can't get the healing badges. Do I hear them complaining? There will always be badges you can't get.

    2) That's the way PvP was designed in ALL MMOs, it could be exploited, but I don't see it happening it much these days. It's a unstoppabole flaw in PvP.

    3) How? The only way to cheat the system was the way posted above.

    ------------------------------------------------------------

1st - As again, look above.

2st - Badges were made to be collected by multiple people. Sure, PvPers would love that - but I'm afraid I feel it'll cause too many complaints.

3rd - I'll leave that to another suggestion, this is purely about solo/team PvP only, not SG PvP.

    4th - ^

5th - I don't really understand you on that. I believe I'll put it this way: unfortunately, everyone's got to keep up on the leaderboard. But maybe when you enter a PvP zone you automatically get a little window that shows you the leaderboard so you can see where everyone's at. That would help find where you are.

    Anyway, thanks for feedback
  5. OK, had a little though about this. Reply with feedback, ie praise/criticism/signed/nosign.

Maybe we could create a new PvP leaderboard reward system. The leaderboard system would work this way: Each per day, 10 people will be on the leaderboard (if only like 5 people have done any kills in PvP zones then it will only show 5 rankings). These 10 would work in order of the kills in PvP zones. There could be 5 types of the leaderboard: Overall, Bloody Bay, Siren's Call, Warburg and Recluse's Victory. Overall would accept kills in any PvP zone. The zone specific ones, well - I'll let them speak for themselves. The top 3 will be awarded a badge and recipe (higher rank, rarer recipe). If your 3rd you get 'Bronze Fighter' badge and a Pool A recipe. If your 2nd you get 'Silver Fighter' badge and a Pool B recipe. If your 1st you get 'Gold Fighter' badge and a Pool C recipe. I hope this system will allow for more PvP rewards as currently PvP doesn't prove much rewards at the moment. I also though of more badges to use.

Platinum Fighter Badge = Get Bronze, Silver, and Gold Fighter badges.
Bronze Champion Badge = Get 3rd on the leaderboard 3 times. This counts for all types of the leaderboard.
Silver Champion Badge = Get 2nd on the leaderboard 3 times. This counts for all types of the leaderboard.
Gold Champion Badge = Get 1st on the leaderboard 3 times. This counts for all types of the leaderboard.
Bloody Bay Champion = Get 1st on the Bloody Bay leaderboard 3 times.
Siren's Call Champion = Get 1st on the Siren's Call leaderboard 3 times.
Warburg Champion = Get 1st on the Warburg leaderboard 3 times.
Recluse's Victory Champion = Get 1st on the Recluse's Victory leaderboard 3 times.
Overall Champion = Get 1st on the Overall leaderboard 3 times.

ALL of these badges would award a Pool recipe by type again. Bronze = Pool A, Silver = Pool B, Gold = Pool C. And if you get ALL of the badges I have listed since the start of the post =

Fighting Legend. This awards a HAMI O. Yes, you heard right - a HAMI O. It's also a badge if you didn't notice...

I think that is about it, so remember, get high on that leaderboard! Feedback plz x()

But the optional bit would save us all. But put it this way - I'm not sure many would, er, enjoy it - so what's the point of putting it in? Sure the 48 monthers+ can get their teeth stuck into it, but how many people are really going to use it? I think it'll be /unsigned for me, even with optional.

    [ QUOTE ]
    1) How are the devs going to make stories for ALL these zones. Not forgetting that they own have their own lore which fits in with the game.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Answered your own question there - expand upon that lore. Most hazards have very thin lore anyway, most of it either on badges/plaques or official website lore - they need enhancing anyway. Apart from that it just takes man-hours.

    [ QUOTE ]
    2) You can overdo these kind of zones (co-op/competitive). If they were going to be all co-op zones then that would be 11 co-op zones. We have 3 already.

    [/ QUOTE ]
You missed Eden and both Sewer zones off your list And which are you counting as 3 existing co-ops? RWZ is the only true co-op hazard zone, as it has proper mission arcs and a zone event to go with the TF, plus normal hazard-style outdoor spawns. Cimerora doesn't have proper mission content (just repeatables, the TF, and that exposition-dump masquerading as an intro-mission), and just barely has outdoor spawns, but ok I'll give you that for 2. So what are you counting as the 3rd co-op zone? Pocket D or Midnight Club? Pocket D only has missions given out on holidays and Midnight Club is just a link-zone to Cimerora - neither have outdoor spawns, TFs, zone events or normal mission arcs.

    [ QUOTE ]
    3) Continuing on from my last point, eventually, we'll feel like we've be treated like we're the same side. Effectively, we may as well be one game. That would be horrible.

    [/ QUOTE ]
From a technical perspective this is one game now (from a codebase/client perspective it always has been). From a lore/story perspective I'd only agree with you if the co-op revamps were poorly done. From a gameplay/community perspective, and as much as I prefer CoV over CoH, I still think it was a mistake for the Devs to split the already small playerbase into two separate factions - WoW can get away with it with their busier server populations, but CoH/V really can't (except maybe on Freedumb). But I don't know what your perspective for disliking co-op is as you haven't really explained.

I love lore - as I've said in another thread I have no problem with co-op providing it's against a global threat (like Marvel's Galactus) so heroes/villains are forced to cooperate for their own survival. The Rikti work for that, but I think Hamidon/The Hive should be co-op too - after all, what storyline/lore logic is there for Hamidon being able to move between The Hive and The Abyss anyway? Are we to believe he occasionally takes a wander through Eden/FF/Talos then has a nice swim 50+ miles to the Rogue Isles, then throws himself to the bottom of a deep crater? Admittedly I suppose a big lump of jelly is quite buoyant... he probably floats there on the tide...

    [/ QUOTE ]

    1) I'd suggest you start reading up on the lore of the Hazard Zones - there's a LOT of stuff to be learned, but I don't feel the devs can translate that into co-op.

    2) They're co-op zones, so they count for it. Even if we didn't count Cimerora and Pocket D (that's the one I'm talking about) there would still be masses of co-op zones. Seriously, how many want that many.

    3) The reason I don't really like co-op is because we are two games now - even if that was a mistake. Sure, we can do it once every now and again, but I don't want to be greeted by hordes of co-op zones. I just don't like co-op because, to be honest, there isn't enough reason involved. Sure, Rikti invade world, we're all doomed, but I bet we could do it all on our own. Actually, we pretty much can if you get up some good ATs. I believe there isn't enough good reason for it - Rikti, for example, we can already beat well enough on our own. What would make them so harder in an invasion? Sure, more quantity, but effectively, quantity doesn't win over power.

  11. You have pointed it out, GR, but I want to explain it in full. I don't think in the Summer where they're going on holidays many players want to be going to Leipzig. E3 was on a while ago, and many people were more intrested in that as it once agained brought out a lot of new stuff. And since CoX players don't have much things to grind their teeth into, and I don't really want to play Aion, I guess not many will attend.

OK, you've explained it before, but I just want to clarify your reasons in full. Because there will be a shout of "It is of intrest to us!". Well, the videos are.

I loved video 1 the most, it was ROFLtastic. Everyone has to watch these vids
  12. Hmmm, the interview wasn't that intresting. I believe if the guy spent some more time on it, then he would be able to explain it better a little bit more. All he's really talked about is Cimerora itself, the first arc and the "dark entity" Romulus.

  14. [ QUOTE ]
    2) I'd like to see all Hazard Zones on CoH-side turned into either co-op zones, or into competitive PvE zones i.e. heroes and villains both doing PvE, but competing against each other to complete first (with the end of mission bonus going to the victors), with the number of mission victories each side earns in a certain period affecting the zone in some way (opening up contacts/rewards for the side that is winning).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh, yes. Turn all of them...

    Dark Astoria
    Perez Park
    Striga Isle
    The Hollows
The Hollows Tunnels (yes, it's a Hazard Zone)
    All 4 Shadow Shard zones

...into co-op or competitive zones! Seriously, there's a few problems with this:

    1) How are the devs going to make stories for ALL these zones. Not forgetting that they own have their own lore which fits in with the game.

    2) You can overdo these kind of zones (co-op/competitive). If they were going to be all co-op zones then that would be 11 co-op zones. We have 3 already. 11 + 3 = 14. 14. Wouldn't that be overdoing it? Even if they were a mix I would still disagree, I believe competitive is alright but I don't want to see much more time on co-op zones atm. Full competitive zones? 11, still overdoing it.

    3) Continuing on from my last point, eventually, we'll feel like we've be treated like we're the same side. Effectively, we may as well be one game. That would be horrible.

Sorry, I just don't agree with this. Rant back or keep sayin' what you wanna change.

Ginger Rice (Sorry, I just had to make it that name, go Rice Girls!!! Oh and Heri Halliwell rocks too )

    Zone: Sewer Network
    Level Range: 10-15
    Missions: 5

If not contact: Hi there...I'm Ginger Rice...I don't really know you, so...what do you need from me? Oh, that...nothing? OK, erm...bye...

Introduction: Hello there, <hero name>...my real name is Angela Wilson, but everyone calls me Ginger Rice...I don't know why. OK, I'm a little shaky, but...handle me. You might not have guessed, but I'm a...er...superhero. Yes. I'm a superhero. Well, not a very good one...OK, I think we should start now.

    1. Arrest Ginger Rice's stalkers

Some weird guys in military costumes have been following me...I don't suppose...you, could...er...arrest them? Don't hurt them too much...don't kill them...I wouldn't want that to happen...just...put them in their place. OK? Here's the location...I'll leave it all to you...

(yes ofc the military guys are council)

    Objectives:
    Defeat Archon Murson

    Mission Complete!

    2. Defeat all Council in area

OK, thanks for that...now, they're Council? Oh, I forgot...I haven't got very far past Hellions...they're not usually in the sewers, are they? I don't think so...well, you need to investigate their appearance here...I've detected an area where there's lots of Council...defeat them, and get some information...OK?

    Objectives:
    Find information

    Mission Complete!

    3. Stop Council assault on Vazhilok

So...they're coming for weapons? What kinds of weapons? Hmm...I don't understand...wait, it says the Vazhilok didn't give them their weapons...so they're going to assault them...stop their assault, this may be more than that...OK...again?

    Objectives:
    Defeat Archon Worase
    Defeat Murcion
    Find more information

    Mission Complete!

    4. Find the Council's side of the deal

So, the Council were trading something back...a fair deal, they say...but what are they trading?...it doesn't say...look, I've found another location of Council...you need to get there, and find out what they were giving...

    Objectives:
Find the Council's side of the deal

    Mission Complete!

    5. Find the Toxic Hands

So the Council were trading a thing they call Toxic Hands...a potion which allows the user to have literally toxic hands...look, we need to get those toxic hands...I detect the Vazhilok won't be a problem....but those guys...they put lots of copies on hand...look here...the real Toxic Hands puts you in full control and anyone who even gets close to the hands is poisoned...but the copies are less effective, and only activate when someone touches the hand...scary. Look, you need to get there...time is running out...they're probably using it for notorious plans...go...now...oh, wait...there might be some generals in there...watch out!

    Objectives:
    Find 10 copies
    Find the real Toxic Hands
Defeat 3 Generals (All EB - General Tori, General Antonio, and General Serde

    --Cutscene--

General Tori: Hah! This was too easy! We keep our Toxic Hands but get their weapons! Too easy! The Vazhilok are fools!
General Antonio: Don't get your hopes up. Apparently, the weapons are deactivated.
General Serde: What!? What a way to ruin our day!
General Tori: It's about to get worse...the heroes are here.
General Serde: They all must die! Let us make that our primary objective
    General Antonio: Yes!

    Mission Complete!

Ending: Wow, you seem to have cleared my shakiness. Now, I can speak without a pause. Your actions have helped me overcome that burden. I can speak normal now. But your actions have done more than that. They have saved Paragon from a disasterous situation. If it wasn't for you, we would be in very big trouble. Thank you, and I hope to see you again. Oh, and, take the blueprints for the Toxic Hands. I found it somewhere around your discoveries...it may bring you back to this. Goodbye.

    Souvenir: Toxic Hands Blueprints
Souvenir Story: While you look at the blueprints for the Toxic Hands, you wonder how bad it could've been. You couldn've been there, and we would have a very bad future. But you were there, and you saved Paragon. It's a little story you like to call...

    A Council In A Huff

It all started when Ginger Rice wanted you to arrest some stalkers following her. Soon, you discovered that these stalkers were the Council!

Ginger Rice informed you to an area full of Council. You went there and gained some info on the situation at hand. You also cleared some Council from the area.

Next, you found that the Council had not been given weapons by the Vazhilok. (If you did not do Maria McCruchon's arc) You did not know the detail of this. (if you did do Maria McCruchon's arc) You knew that Maria McCruchon may have something to do with it. (back to normal) You went to the area to find some Council and Vazhilok. You defeated them, and gained some information. But it was not over yet.

You had learned that the Council had not given the Vazhilok their fair share of the deal. Ginger Rice sent you to a location which she thought may show you what the Council's part of the deal was. You found that it was the Toxic Hands, a dangerous tool that, when used, could poison anybody in range of the user.

It was time for this to come to an end. You also learned that they were making copies of these Toxic Hands. This would be bad if the Council got away with it. You hurried to a location with both the real Toxic Hands and copies of it which were a bit less effective. You didn't find just that - 3 generals were waiting for you. You dealt with them, got the copies, got the real thing, and left. Your act was so powerful it ruled over Ginger Rice's shyness. You saved Paragon from disaster. (If not done Maria McCruchon's arc) You only leave this as another memory you will trease in your heroic life. (If done Maria McCruchon's arc) Strangely, you see a connection with this and what Maria McCruchon sent you to do. Could it be the samme thing? Or is it all just a misunderstanding? It is not know, but for now, a memory is left in your mind for this story.

That's it. No, Ginger Rice is not crushing on you, otherwise female toons would be a bit disturbed.

OK, I think that's all the contacts we pretty much need, level 15-20 you don't really visit the Sewer Network. Feedback...once again!!!
  21. Nerf every powerset to death and make all my toons so overpowered they can one-shot Hami.

Other than that, put the mission creator on as soon as possible. Put a AV/EB creator in there as well!

Also, not forgetting the most important one, remove PvP. (I'm joking, you know, right? )
  22. I was wondering, would anyone like to start up some kind of open RP on Defiant like GG on Union? Defiant is my favourite server and since I do like RP but I can't bother myself to log on every 9pm to Union, would anyone like to have, like a RP meet up spot, like GG?

We could start small, how about a Saturday at 7pm each week and then if it gets popular maybe we'll consider daily. Although I will be able to attend this Saturday I won't be able to attend the next 2 Saturdays since I'm on holiday then.

    So, what do you think?
  23. OK. I have almost the full set of this slotted on PA on my Ill troller. I was wondering, would the damage on the, er, well - Damage one - be decent for PA? Or should I drop it? Because I can't really see the effect on combat, 38.6 damage doesn't seem that big to me. Would it make a big difference to the damage of PA or I am just buying another useless cheap Enahnce?

I don't see a problem with him taking it - sure, Medicine, isn't the best pool in the world, but it can work if you want to be a semi-Emp. Even if he is a Scrapper.
