  1. I like the concept and figure from the fire powers available it would be a good set to mold to the same style as thugs i.e. initially ranged henchmen with flares etc. a thermal type support for the second tier and the final big pet is the melee character who is basically a fire/fire tnaker with certian powers omitted for balance.
  2. The issues not really whether they have a healing power though, it's that calling them a 'healer' in the sense of 'wE N33d a H3AL0RZ!!1! lol' isn't the point of any powerset in CoV and so it's not really fair to refer to them as such.

So I would disagree that there are healers in either CoH or CoV because even if healing is one of the things they do, it's certainly not what they are if you get my meaning.
  3. Fire/Devices Blaster, Ringed a mob with trip mines with cloaking device and then cast RoF on them causing them to disperse outwards stright in to the mines, funny stuff.
  4. [ QUOTE ]
Just out of interest, why do people think there's more to the hive than just Hamidon?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think it's just due to the illogical crappiness of defeating Hamidon and the otherwise pointless features of the Hive. It's mysterious sure but going with the instinct that there must be something more to it because you really want there to be is a little nicer than the more sensible idea that the zone is lazily put together or is an unfinished trial.
  5. Just about any Mod is against the EULA, although I can't imagine them hunting you down for this sort of thing don't blame me if NCSoft Spec ops rappel through your skylight and push your head into the floor.
  6. I know a lot of people have been having fun trying out temporary PvP characters in Recluse's Victory on the test server and figured it would be a good idea to share some of our experiences.

Personally I've had fun with an Archery/Devices Blaster with targetting drone and three slotted range in every attack. I was blasting away from a very safe distance with my cloaking device and have to say it was a suprisingly good PvP character when it wasn't up against spine stalkers. I also briefly made a kin/elec defender with endmods slotted everywhere just to try and drain all the end out of some villains which was also kinda cool. I most enjoyed raining arrows from high above and taking down one stalker who made a really kickass dismount after I sniped him out of the sky but I was having trouble making a dent in the Masterminds using bodyguard mode. Also I appreciate the fact that the elec brutes teleporting attack has a thunderbolt coming right out of the sky, from up where I was it looked like there was a red thunderstorm approaching due to how many people were using it.

So yeah, Recluse's victory cool, elec brutes everywhere and Masterminds hard as nails.
  7. With SR you'd have serious endurance problems. Might work well running elude or conserve power but it would suck getting there.
  8. I vote Trick Arrow. It's in my opinion the best debuff primary, since that's all it really has. Good -res from disruption and acid arrows with good crowd control in oil slick and glue arrow. Net and ice arrows are sometimes useful for soloing to isolate an enemy but those first four I listed are where it's at. Being archery secondary is great because you can feel the love for blazing arrow.
  9. They're great teamed with a damage dealer. Glue Arrow is a good slow and oil slick is pretty burntacular. Also, don't underestimate entangling arrow to stop foes flying away. A quick glue arrow ---> Disruption(?) Arrow ---> Acid Arrow is a pretty sizeable resistance debuff for taking down better defended enemies. Ice Arrow's not that great until it's slotted with SO's when it'll make for a better way of holding types with no mez protection.

What they don't offer, however, is any buffs so don't expect them to be thinking about keeping you alive because they're pretty much only about the fastest way to make the enemy dead.

Edit: I've just been in Siren's tonight actually and I've managed to top someone's list for most annoying powerset so that's something.

Ah Ethics, it always boils down to this subject.

Is it the action itself that is wrong, or is it the outcome of the action which is wrong?

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's the action itself. I would not blame someone for an unexpextedly poor outcome if their action itself was just.

Speaking of ethics, moral relativism sucks because it negates your ability to consider yourself right which to me makes your actions arbitrary.

    war mace

    [ QUOTE ]
I like the idea of the mace but I'm not keen on the model.

Generalissimo_2 I'm surprised to see that you soloed for 75 percent of the time. I soloed a lot when i first played the game but try to avoid it now. Is your approach common?

    Doc

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'd say it's pretty common based on some peoples violent anti-teaming searchbox messages but a lot of the time it's nice to solo just for one mission then log off.

I'd also like to use this reply to further push my theory that all of Doc's questions are forwarded in such a way that there would appear to be some of book/article/report to evil overlord being written using the responses.

    Finally, Maces rule!
  12. Go man go! Fulcrum shifted inferno for the overkill! This is going to be my next character as well.
  13. I wouldn't challenge the Chives logic (e.g defeating math). Someone's liable to get beaten by Prince at basketball and then asked if they would like some waffles.
  14. Trick Arrow rules! Chives talks them down because he knows that net arrow is the secret weakness of the spines/regen scrapper. Now watch in awe as I procede to obscure your view of the battlefield with 'pointless posion gas arrow!!!!'
  15. Time your force bolts so the bolt will hit them just as they are reaching their feet again, hit them too early and they just get straight back up, which sucks.
  16. This TF thread is wayyy long. Like one of those text based adventure games where you do tihng like 'get ye key' and 'touch thine cocsyx.'
  17. I've created a fire/kin who I consider to act like a blaster with a self buffing secondary, sure you get buffed as well if you happen to be in the vicinity but that's not the point really.
  18. Eight of me, contorlled by a hive mind because individually they'd just start arguing with each other and score -8.
  19. What do people think to Dark/Energy Aura since we're on the subject. I like the idea of a -acc effect primary with a defense based secondary but is Energy Aura any good?
  20. -Take Focused Senses and Practiced Brawler earlier, they're pretty much more important than everything you've put before them.

-Fighting pool isn't my bag, tough is arguable but weave is pretty much pointless.

-While you may consider respeccing out thunder kick for CAK eventually, it will seve you well for now since you are unlikely to take many attacks after thunder, storm and crane until the mid twenties.

Because I'm too lazy to give real advice I'm just going to post my build below in case it helps with slotting.

  21. Angry Healing Clown seems to get teams very easily, although he's built for that express purpose with equally ridulous teaming messages about how much of a healer he is.

    3vP is coming!

This looks very interesting but I don't think I'd be able to make it to the first week.
  23. It's not very easy switching out of invis to attack, the people who stand still long enough to let this happen to them probably wouldn't be able to see the stalker anyway.
  24. I pretty much run conserve power and elude alternately when I can to stop me running out of end, slotting endreds in about half the attacks as well so I don't have problems if I'm not running optimally. I slot two accuracy in everything and run hasten and no focused accuracy though so the advice my be relevant. I've been cosnidering respeccing into this in I7 if it helps:
