Hi, i got a lvl19 dominator fire/fire, and a lvl38 grav/psi, and let me say u that dont rely on smoke.
I would go, not ever b4 the SO's, in 'hot feet', for a good slow control power. I wouldnt rely neither in the inmob (fire cages), coz its an aggro magnet, and u just cant afford all that aggro. Instead try to go to the medicine pool, readjusting the powers, coz the medicine would help u very much in the game.
All the other things are good, never tested this combo, enjoy the game.

Yeah, the utility of this power like stealth is a bit 'tedious', coz u need to waste end continously, and u always need to spend time activating it each 20-30 secs...
No, i dont think this power is usefull actually, with the -def it has, and the stealth power...
I had it (b4 respec) in my fire/fire just coz i though the same as u, and I finally respeced it out coz I just sometimes forgive it, and there wasnt any diference between use it or forgive it...
The only thing I would like of this power is the way u can pull only 1 enemy, although i think we have much more powers to make AoE control, not only blind them a bit...

I dont think its a problem... the problem (so far i see) is that u should rely ONLY in acc, rech, redend in the TO's enhancements range...
As a common rule (take it like a general tip) think about give 3 Acc TO's (until lvl12), then 2 Acc DO's (until lvl22), and then 1 Acc S0's, each one in his range.
Besides, if u gonna PvP much u should spare 2 Acc SO's in most of ur powers if u want to hit, but that is another game...
BTW, dont fight mobs +2 never, untill u get the SO's, or u will spend too much time (if not faceplanting sometimes) and u will loose a lot XP per sec.

Acc debuff?? Not sure, but i think it doesnt have -acc debuff...
It makes dmg, and fear for 7 secs (unslotted), but no -acc AFAIK.

OMG, plz dont go for smoke... In the prima guide of updates from I7, it says:
"3,75% def decrease for critters only for 20 secs"
That cant help much... This with 3 DEF SO's, + 3 DEF combat jumping = 11-12%, for only 20 secs, and a waste of 4 slots...

pretty much agree with Idris, listen him. I feel i have the same issues/improvements that he has stated.
My build in lvl19 (cant remember enhances, im at work) is char, flares, incinerate, fire breath, fire blast, flashfire and fiery embrace. Got fitness and leaping pools.
I supose this build should be very similar to his build, since Adris is saying almost the same problems i have faced with this toon.
I just disagree with Adris bout 'Hasten'. Sure this power is pretty usefull, but i feel this power isnt so much necesary as others toon i got, just because the main attack chain (fire blast, char, incinerate in auto, flares) recharges really fast, and Im never being 'stopped'. I would go for medicine pool and im thinkin in the last PP im gonna grab (maybe concealment for PvPing with the sniper power), but this gonna be lates 20's.
Im not sure if this dominator could make a decent ammount of dmg with those AoE powers. Not much sure, maybe when the imps come to play, but not b4...
BTW, captain, if u have though ur build, and u agree with all ur powers/slots, Im with u, its ur toon, its ur game, u play it as u want, u sure will enjoy it. Its a good idea, but i think its gonna be a hard way till u complete ur chain (almost lvl30?). Think bout make that way easier picking fire blast, adding slots earlier, ...

Ok, my opinion bout ur build... Here it comes...
Im not sure, but if this isnt a respec u should think bout take FE at lvl16 and stamina at lvl20. Well, lets start:
1) dont waste the 2nd slot in flares, it isnt good for build domination. It has an activation time higher than 2,5secs. Not a good fast attack for dom building, believe me. I use it to fill the gaps in my chain, just coz its better than stay stopped waiting to the other powers recharge... I dont like this power, and i think u will agree with me soon.
2) Erm... (IMHO) ur build is bored. U have just flares (not a real attack), incinerate and fire breath as attacks. Ey, make room for ur fire blast and enjoy the game! U will notice that fire breath is an endurance eater power, and long rech in a battle. Its like a situational power, and then u just have 1 power (incinerate) to kill enemies. U will spend much time (and end) in killing enemies, so try to balance more ur toon, picking in 'fire blast', probably the best attack u gonna have till u get 'blaze' (and its a long way to lvl38).
3) Im not a fun of inmobs, no i dont like them, but the ones i really dont ever choose would be the AoE aggro-magnet Inmobiliztion powers. If u want an inmob, choose ur ST inmob, but not that one... Yeah, i kno FC are good for ur imps... I kno its like a 2nd hold with flashfire. Listen, u arent a fire/ corr (or blaster). U cant hold 5 enemies for 20 secs JUST COZ u cant kill more than 1(maybe 2) of them before they come back from the hold, and the other 3 (or 4) gonna make u some hurt (maybe faceplant?). Since u dont have very much AoE dmg neither, u dont gonna burn much of them at the same time, so I dont feel its a good idea. This could change when u get ur pets, but not always, since remember that the AoE inmob is an aggro-magnet for u, not for ur pets...
4) I havnt tested much combustion, but i wouldnt bother much with it, since i think stamina 3-slotted is enough. I wouldnt waste a power selection in that power, but thats up to u.
5) If u are thinkin in PvP, just test the sniper power, for 2 reasons: domination + fiery embrace + blazing bolt = huge ammount of dmg from the distance. Also, its hoped that ur imps attack ur target, pursuing him. I rolled a dom in the RV test server event, and got many more rep in less just with that tactic(like 20 rep soloing in 1 hour, thats cool).
6) IMO, u should think bout drop any powers mentioned b4 and grab ur 4th PP. Maybe invis for PvP, or tactics more for teamers, or maybe TP for the usefull TP foe/recall friend powers, or the nice 'Hasten'. If i could take 5 PP i would do it, no doubt.
Well, bout the enhcns, i dont usually spare 2 intsredx in aid self. I dont think its usefull. Fire breath should take a rech instead of range (not the same with blaze, i would agree with u in range there). Dont waste 4 dmg in imps.
And finally, i would say that u should spare ur dmg enhances in ur dmgs much more time before, more in the beginning... But again, its ur time, not mine. If u wanna spend 1 min by enemy, ok, its up to u.

Hi there
Here talking a guy who likes dominators, got 1 almost deceased at lvl38 grav/psi (gotta test a bit now in i7) and a lvl19 fire/fire, more like my main toon actually.
IMHO, dominators are easier (sometimes) than corrs to solo, at least the ones i have done, mainly beacause the corrs i think are more 'team friendly' (for ppl, and for their sets) than doms. In fact, I think the corrs develop their real power in teams, not the same (necessary) with the doms.
Why i feel they are easier? Well, u need to learn to play as dominator, but I usually have managed some missions without being hit, just becouse the mitigation in the doms is to avoid the dmg. In the corrs side, the way to survive is to minimize the dmg (not nullify it, see the difference) and maybe take some heals.
The problem with the doms is this: 1 error = faceplant. When u are higher u could solve this error, and maybe manage it taking hits, but if u play correctly, u just dont be hit (and that is awesome).
DefUser was a bit lack of dmg, and sincerely i have got many times problems, but when i grabb my pet, it was just relentless solo paper mishs as fast as i could...
Then i decided to play a fire/fire. She is lvl19 and its all much easier, it has much dmg (FE + DOMINATION is much more dmg than much other powers i have), and I think this gonna be much more easier when i take my little 3 imps...
U want an advice bout playing solo? go fire/fire and u will not regret it. Play it wisely and turn ur dominator in a killing machine. Play it poorly and be prepared to make a thread in this forums saying doms are gimped...

Ive heard that should be the best set combination for a pvp corrupter, think u need to build it correctly...
IMO, i don like much /rad, but its just an opinion... I would go better for a /kin, /thermal or /dark, but thats just my opinion...

imo, i have seen that error in many builds i have seen playing...
The way to play as dominator is nullify the enemy, and kick him rite in his nose, then jump back, and lift another enemy while u are targeting another one and that go on...
In my mind, we would be better dominators if we would have 3 arms, with 3 hands, or maybe more fingers in our 2 hands
Yeah, u will need ur melee powers, u just have to 'defuse' the enemies b4

Well, IMO, for PvP purposes maybe i should get /fire, for the Fiery Embrace bonus. It just double ur dmg for 20 secs, and that is a nice bonus for a long time... /ngr has a bonus power more defensive, makin ur controls longers, but finally, ur enemy will stand there, and u need to kill him, not to nullify him (well, both things, but u dont need to make longer the nullify time, imo)
Also, if u roll a fire/fire (actually, i have my hottie in lvl16), and u press the FE, ur monkeys will be affected with that bonus (or that is what i have heard) if u summon them after the FE was pressed, so ull be a hard hitter, outdmging some other ATs and almost all dominators...
I dont have much PvP experience, but i feel that power is GOLD for PvP, having the chance of double ur dmg (and remember that aim/BU only last 10secs). The problem with FE is that it dont add ACC, so u will need to slot ur powers wisely... And for the fact of DoT, all the powers do really nice dmg, and add 3 ticks of DoT for the burn effect, so much better.
In mind/ set, i have heard that Telekinesis is awesome in PvP, but I havnt tested this set...

I accept ur thoughts, Under_Control, but i disagree with ur opinion... In fact, i think wormhole is required for gravity set, for his lack of soft control, and this power will give it to the set.
Yeah, sure that u rnt goin to use it in bigs group, neither ur sleeps, and neither ur melee attacks, coz there must be some better meleers in the team than u, and u still pick up them and slot them, just for when u dont play in big teams...
Its just my opinion, but i feel this power is really worth to be slotted before than much others

Hi m8,
Here a grav/psi dominator. My own experience about this 2 powers are:
* WORMHOLE: IMHO, the very best power in the gravity set (this, and of course, ur sing). In PvE, I use it as opener out of the line of sight. Wormhole them to a wall and they will apear all grouped, knocked and disoriented!!! i just feel this power is a bit cheap, coz it gives u 3 form of soft control in 1 power: TP foe (really uses in PvE and PvP), knockback (yeah, fire/ primary set has a power dedicated to do this) and disorient (others sets also offer this, but like b4, only that)...
The way to slot it? Well, this power its just as ur use: u can use it like a soft control power (6 slot it: 2ACC, 2DISDUR, 2RECH), u can use it like a puller (2ACC, 2RECH), or just u have a PvP purpose on it, so with 2ACC should be enough. I have it 6-slotted and i luv it... U can test it without much enhances on it, and could spare some more on it if u feel it would need some love
* SINGULARITY: well, i feel this pet is here to help me and to complement me. If it does a thing, i should go for his complement. I would recommend to 6slot this ball of doom, and go for 3DMG, 3HOLDDUR in PvE, or change 1DMG for an ACC if u go in PvP. I wouldnt bore much on it with RECHS, since the singularity is hard to die, and neither i would choose another enhcs. In fact, I have it 6slotted this way, and i love it too
This 2 powers are a must in gravity set, and u must learn to use it... Just one more thing, i have teamed a lot with some friends and they agree with me that they luv wormhole, and actually, when i team, they wait to me open with wormhole and enjoy the trick

In my opinion, i would go for plant/fire, and I argue this choose:
* Plant/ is the only set made for Dominators, and has a really nice mitigation power called "Seeds of Confusion", wich could help you much soloing. That power added to the rest of the set could make it more soloable.
* /fire coz its the more dmg dealer set. Yep, with Fiery Embrace, you could outdamage many other ATs, and by far, some of us. If u got it properly slotted u could use it like half time (hasten + 3 rech), doing ur life much easier. Also, if u gonna face a boss, u could just wait it become ready, coz its recharge is only time, not the same as domination.
Im lvlin a fire/fire (yeah, for the way FE + fire imps makes me feel), and I have tested the power of FE, and yeah... its awesome

maybe it has no sense to be only dominators, since dominators are just 1 of 5 diferent ATs, each one with their strength.
If u do a base raid against a VG with all the same AT u are loosin great team-working stuff, i think...

Ok, sorry, i didnt give my opinion on this build. Im gonna say what i think for a PvP build:
* POWER SELECTION: I wouldnt pick up psy scream, long animation time, 70's dmg fully slotted aprox, and cone power... The fact its a cone power makes it an end eater power, it will sux ur end really fast. Also, i think u should have enough with psi dart, mind probe, subdue and psy shockwave, but that is just my opinion and what works for me. Instead of PS, i would go for Drain psyche, or maybe Super Speed coz ive heard that speed in PvP = stay more time alive. Also y have tested phase shift and, although it has saved my A$$ many times, im gonna respec it, cos i have died much more times doin the loooong animation move... Its a "oh, s#it" button, but its looong animaion makes it a bit un-playable (but this is, again, IMHO)...
Also, I havnt tested it, but i have heard MANY goodnes about TK in pvp.. the repel inherent & holds... i just think this power stop all meleers toons u gonna fight. U can easily shoot the enemy psi dart meanwhile u fill ur dom bar, and u have ur TK on. Then, godmode on, and just kill him... I think its a really good power, but im not gonna bother, if u dont like it, hell with it
Finally, im not with pick control AoE powers with -ACC inherent, coz u are goin to miss them in pvp almost always, but again, thats ur way.
* SLOTS SELECTION: since ur secondary assault gives u a really nice bonus, i would spare 1-2 slots to psi dart (ACC and maybe an ENDRDX). Also, 2 RECH in Grant Invisibility is a bit overkill, maybe u should take out that slot, and i would use ENDRDX in GI, since it has a 3secs rech (again, i have tested this power). Also, i think u need 6-slot ur dmg chain, so 6 slots to psy shockwave is a must.
Of course, im just givin out my opinion, dont be rude with meIts a good build, but i think u could make it nastier for pvp...

Spirit tree isnt moveable, so i dont think it would work in pvp for us the dominators...
I just can imagine a dominator staying near the tree for the regen meanwhile a hero is punching him...
In the other way, im not sure the mini-regen dominator gonna work... i just need to test it out... -

hmm, i see u like the mini-regen dom idea. Just i think that if u are gonna be this way, u should get health 3 slotted and the medicine pool, but this isnt still tested...

BTW, i have been thinkin in my build... so, i said: "Ey, lets try to get that semi-regen dom with DP, and lets try to avoid dmg rising up the resistance, grabbing 'tough'."
But with the same cost, instead of getting fighting pool, i could grab medicine pool and it would be less slotable, while getting a power like a "resistance against all" that it isnt a toggle. Yeah, that is aid self. 3 slot it and i still would have 1 free slot, for endrdx in psi dart, or another place...

/agree with kitty, maybe the /ngr assault is the less beneficiated with the +8 bonus, coz their powers are mainly melee, and the must-able power (power bolt lvl1) is a really long animation (round 2 secs).
But they have, in the other way, another benefit: melee dmg has been increased to 75% ( US forums source ).
So, /ngr will be slower than the others sets building domination, but in the melee boost, they will be the most beneficiated...

Okay, so now u see my possible look for pvp. Could i know ur thoughts over it? I have to go to test server, and see how it works, but right now, over the paper, it seems very pvpable.
Noticeable things:
*Psi dart slotted for 2 accs, for fast dom building.
*Tough slotted = 12% resistance S/L. That + 3 slots in health + DP heals slotted shoud make me more survible, without that much interrupt time stopped. Maybe i should go for Medicine pool, and then i would take out 2 slots from health to aid self.
* No AoE hold. Only Wormhole, since i consider this is the best gravity power.
* Dim Shift in grabb in lvl35, i think its the more situable power, and i should be able to live without it in SC's.

I remember a thread in the US forums where told that fire/ice has aprox. the same DPS output, and surprisingly, after them, there was thorns, energy and psi (in that order)...

Maybe it isnt a good test, but its a test. BTW, i have been thinkin in this combo:
Fiery embrace + Blazing bolt(properly slotted) = 26,3 BI (hero builder).
Not sure if this could be a 1-shot combo, but this + flares should belol
