Quote:Out of all the odd superhero things that seems to be missing from all the comic book themed MMOs, I'm surprised that nobody has a Boomerang set. It's used in both big companies across a number of characters that I imagine it should be somewhat fair game as a possible set. I could see it being a great power pool, maybe a bit attack heavy though.Natural might get something similar to Fighting or the old Fitness pool, perhaps. (before that was complementary. Gotta wonder what the newbies think of that)
Quote:Gotta wonder if they'll be Original exclusive, would be nice to have some Origin themed perks, though on the other hand I've always respected the devs' insistence on making cosmetic stuff purely cosmetic.
We'll have to see what Sorcery ends up being before we make any remotely educated guesses. -
P.Yin's an obvious shoe-in, just from how she's been thrust into the spotlight recently, but also just for her (so far) unique powerset.
I'd throw in Apex, seeing as you're bringing War Witch into the fold. At that point, I'd kind of love to see a brand new Horus come in too, and not just because I'd like to see a dearth of new Egyptian themed costume bits. Though, I really would.
I'd be tempted to gussy up Faultline in something approaching a proper superhero suit and then toss in Fusionette as his companion/sidekick. If for nothing else because I think the dour squad could use a bit more colorful/brighter characters in the mix.
While we're at it, why not throw in Foreshadow, Mirror Spirit, Rose Star and Sparkblade that featured as part of the Asian trailer? They all look pretty cool and with Foreshadow's cooler newer costume, it's a shame to let that go to waste as little as they use him now.
Though, I imagine there's plenty enough reasons not to add in Sparkblade given he's just going to fuel the "Y no have sword and gun powerset?" folks.
I'd love to add in a vote of your own character, given the way the SSA seemed to be promoting our heroes to the spotlight. Maybe a badge that labels us as a full fledged Freedom Phalanx member, as opposed to the Phalanx Reservist one that we can get through whatever means now, as a reward for the second SSA? If they're the premier hero team and our characters are saving/helping them, it seems odd that we don't at least have the option to join up with them. -
Y'know, it occurs to me that, has anybody asked if the suit itself has an underlying metallic sheen to it? As every picture we've seen of the suit has seemed to look kind of... shiny. If we color it white, will it be white? Or will it be some sort of gray-ish metalllic hue?

Quote:Who needs a correspondence course when there's a perfectly accessible Midnighters HQ just around the corner?I assume they're going with the idea that anyone regardless of origin can pick up some quick sorcery in this universe. There's probably a correspondence course.
It does make me wonder what's part of this set though. And if there are other origin specific sets to come as well. I could see a whole slew of gadget related fiddly things for a tech power pool, just way too many possible options to really nail down a specific need/want list though. Science could be a series of thrown/drank from beakers or gas grenades, so you could have a clicky resist or def buff or a super serum-type shot to resist stuns etc.
What would Mutant or Natural get though? -

Quote:See, I would have assumed that somebody did some PIGG diving to find it.Because of some of the specifics that nobody would have known to look for from the hints and teases for weeks on end about both Psi Melee and Water control.
Those hints and teases included nothing about a new Prowler Form shifting AT nor the Absorb mechanic used by Symbiotic armor etc....that is the kind of thing that comes straight from the horses mouth. -

Quote:Y'know... I could see the PPD power armor being used as a toggle on power, like Panther's stealth. Toggle it on and pop-up bar shows us all the new PPD power armor abilities. And considering it has boot jets, it could even come with a travel power.Primal starts with plain cops and has two branches 1 of which includes the PPD power armor division which unlike the Longbow idea listed earlier can't be done at all in terms of power options or costume options
I don't really care about the other branch it could be legacy chain or even longbow for all i care
Though, I could also see that leading to our characters being locked out of our usual powers while using the suit too. Which, from a certain point of view, would make sense for a portion of powerset abilities. Not all, mind you. But, I could see that being a "thing". -
Granted, I could see updating her a little bit, but not as far over the top as Diabolique is, because there's a specific reason for the changeover.
-
Shouldn't we be able to see that anyways, as Penny Yin clearly has that powerset?
Not that I doubt that we might be seeing it eventually, as a full powerset for players. Just that it makes sense that we can already find Psionic Melee things here and there because we've seen a character use those abilities. -
-
Looking at it on a freshly level 10 character, it says I have to purchase the power pool from the Paragon Market.
-
So, from the list of options from way way back, what else are we still missing?
Forcefield armor?
Were Radiation melee and armor on the list? -
Hmm, wonder if a new character can snag it if they start at 1?

Eh, they were just side characters to my main heroes. Sometimes writers kill off side characters to spur main characters to strive to do better.
Yes, there's definitely some points throughout the SSAs where we kind of get stuck on the Narrativium Railroad. But, I can't see most of my hero characters just throwing up their hands in disgust and walking away from a situation this world threatening just because a handful of other heroes died. I know they aren't terribly pleased with events.
Now, my villains? I think they fall into the "How can I take advantage of this?" or the "How dare they try to destroy my home?" school of thought. Anybody that I have that are either too dumb or too powerful to consider the magnitude of events for everybody else would just laugh or scoff at the idea of helping save the world and summarily ignore the SSA to begin with. -
Quote:Also, the Lore pets are really really late game material. Like how the Ancillary/Patron pools are on the far end of a characters' lifespan. Much as I like playing my handful of 50ed out characters with Incarnate abilities, I spend a larger portion of time playing characters that aren't "finished". So, I can see wanting it as a power pool power. The Lore pets are, y'know, tied to the Lore and not available to most of the player base anyway. Likewise tha Arachnos patron pets require a particular concept in order to work.
But as I mentioned upthread, I think I'd probably rather see more recipes like the Backup Radio, like Dog whistle to summon a combat pet than a full power pool. Takes one less power pick and recipes tend to become abundant over time, and the bits are easy enough to get to invent one. -
I think I may be a bit Tech/Science heavy with a good number of Natural characters.
I have been considering swapping to making only Mutant characters because the SO enhancements actually tell you what they do, instead of having to fumble through colors and right clicking to remind myself which non-helpful name does what. -
I could see them adding more Pet recipes like the backup radio. Maybe Dog Whistle?

So? The more the merrier. Plus, the Carnies have their DeVore arcs, which while not world takeover is more than the Freakshow seem to have. Also, don't most of the Freakshow cut out around 40s?

Quote:I wouldn't mind some focus on mutants. But what unified mutant 'theme' would be entertaining in this game? The whole 'discrimination' angle does not work...Quote:Something I think isn't covered as much as a central plot point in the game are mutations. Groups like Crey and Longbow provide science and natural based NPCs and stories. Groups like Malta and IDF provide technology. Groups like Tsoo and Circle of Thorns provide magic. And... the outcasts provide mutations? Unless I am mistaken, mutant storylines aren't heavily covered in the game, and don't have many plot points beyond "Yeah, they exist". IMO, there should be more things done with them. Like, make a story arc about the difference between a mutant and a superhero getting powers is how kids get those powers, and how there could be a big one based on that. Maybe it is that old rehashed "think of our kids safety!" thing from X-men that turns into a big political war. Maybe it is a neo-cult that is harvesting and brainwashing kids to be the progenitors of future mankind (I call dibs on that one). Maybe it is a big story about how someone who earned their powers is a normal person with more tools whereas a mutant isn't classified as a "person" at all. Just do something...
Maybe add in a handful of Supatrolls/trolls(hmm, maybe give them Titan weapons and street justice ala new Knives, as well as super strength) to round out their Boss(20-35) and Lt(35-50) numbers, while not dropping mutant Lts and bosses, just mix them in. Not sure how you'd visually upgrade Supatrolls to fit the spandex aesthetic. Torn pants, no shirts? Singlets?
Just make them villains with smaller picture goals, even if they only took up space in the mad-libs newspapers/radios with a smattering of mobs appearing here and there in the 20+zones, as well as a few tips so that you can sorta track a smaller semi-storyline ala Frostfire, Maybe have them going head to head, ala Council-5th Column street fights, with the other enemy groups. -
Rubber bullets. Honest. *boy scout salute*
