I'd like to see what they could do with Kiva.
Though, I think Blade or Den-o would be easier for them to do. -

Quote:Or make some fancy hand motions and add them across the board to the various assault, control and blasting sets.Sounds like you just got off a FMA kick. I don't really see this working in game. They might as well just make a Magic Casting powerset with hand sigils and swirly bolts.
Actually, now that I think about it, doesn't Ninjitsu for Stalkers have at least one fancy hand jive thing? -

Just noticed the lowbie CoT male minions have a v-shape thing that continues down the hood to around just below the ribcage, while the female hoods end pretty much as the ones that we got with the bundle.
The big hats have the same sort of v-shaped thing that continues down. And as mentioned before, still no female Lt/boss types. -

People calling to do the Abandoned Sewer Trials should change to saying "Abandoned Sewer Trial". If and when they even do them. Which, as has been noted, is a rare occurrence anyways.
New Down from Below/Sewer trial takes precedence, due to the rarity of calls for the old abandoned sewer trials. -

Honestly, that's how every server seems, when there's people around and actively talking on a channel.

Quote:That's the thing, you're "pretty sure".So, uh, has any face actually been removed and not just renamed? I remember the old CoH Face 1 and I'm pretty sure it's still around, just bumped up in the list. I don't get the fixation with "Face 1" specifically.
The thing is, I'm not entirely sure either that the old CoH Face 1 is gone. If it is "gone", it's likely only "gone" in the sense that it appears that they tinted a number of faces adding a little more shading or tint to the coloration like they did with all the faces that came with City of Villains.
My fixation, such that it is, is that when I load up the costume creator to make a character, I have to look at that smug sneery smirk face, instead of a neutral one.
Honestly? Partly, it's a matter of personal preference. If I'm intent on rolling a new character, which I am wont to do as I'm a big altaholic, I'm constantly met with Villain Face 1. The other part of it is, that I had heard a handful of folks in my regular chat channel saying that faces were missing way back when they merged the two sets. I'm inclined to believe them, in that there there are a number of faces that seem to be slightly darker.
It's subtle, it's pervasive, but without a shot for shot comparison, I can't point out which ones have gotten the makeover. -
Quote:That's the other end of the problem. So what I'm not seeing is what faces were supposed to have been changed from being "heroic" to "villainous". They are the same faces and have been since City of Villains was released, or shortly afterwards.
You can't see what faces are missing, because they are missing. In some cases, it's a really subtle shift in tint or shading, that orange/tan that shows through on the lighter colors. Since City of Villains was released, or shortly afterwards. Thing is, during the late stage of Open Beta I saw that they had access to all the faces and all the masks.
Then, there was a patch saying that they "fixed" the redundant pieces.
There's no real mystery or malice here. Just file replacement. -
Quote:That's the thing, in a number of cases, it is just a subtle, very slight red/tan/orange tint difference. Most of the faces made the changeover, as far as I can tell, but in some cases, it's kind of obvious, specifically Face 1.I can say with near certainty that it has. That's the face that I used on my Blaster ever since CoH Beta, and I have had to change it since then. Even the new one in Supernatural doesn't quite look right any more.
To me, however, it's not a huge deal, since I just look for the best face I can, whether it is a slightly, barely noticeable, difference, or a completely new face. I still have some characters whose correct face doesn't even exist in the creator, and I have to go with whatever I can stand.
That being said, I barely notice the difference on some faces, and don't consider the majority of the faces to be any darker or any more villainous than their original counterparts. -
Quote:It's actually pretty easy to answer.Looking at I1 screenshots of my main alongside screenshots from last week... I'm not seeing what you're seeing so I can only assume one of us is missing something drastic.
Why would the first face available in City of Heroes, Face 1, be a slightly sneering, smirking face? Sure, some heroes are smirk happy jerks. But, the reason is because that's Face 1 from City of Villains.
When City of Villains came out, the character creators were separate. At some point, they rolled the two character creators together.
And that's where the problems began. All the Faces 1 through whatever on both sides were named the same. The masks on the City of Heroes side were labeled Mask 1 through whatever, but City of Villains side they were all given Names like Demise and Ruin etc. But when they gave us access across the board to all the faces and all the masks, they just cut down one side and filled it in with the other. It wasn't much of a problem, a good number of the faces were still there, but things like Face 1 being the most obvious and big red pointer for what was wrong with the merge is kind of staring you in the face.
Face 1 was no longer a completely neutral heroic face, it is now, and has been for awhile, a sneery smirky git face. -

Quote:Rigel Kent has the right of it in this case. The point is not that there aren't neutral faces, the problem is that there were a bunch of faces that were summarily replaced when City of Villains got rolled in wholesale.I most vehemently concur with Scythus. I've had no trouble finding "non-scowly" faces for my...non...scowly...guys.
Problem is, they used the same sets of numbers face 1 through whatever. Rather than giving them a separate designation, what we ended up with now is just the CoV faces and only a handful of the original set of City of Heroes faces remade in the CoV slightly darker mold. In some cases, it's a subtle shift, in others it's fairly noticeable, the most obvious one being Face 1 City of Heroes style and Face 1 that currently shows up has the big smirk on his face.
And to top it off, for a short while the original faces were available during the later stage of Open Beta for Freedom. To pretty much no fanfare.
But then, a patch note came down claiming to "fix" the supposed "redundant" pieces. Problem is, they weren't redundant, they were the original faces. As a result, the hero faces fell back into the ether and now we're left with that terrible smirking face as Face 1. Again.
I hate that smug face. -

Quote:So much this, I really hope that there's an Enforcer piece to go along with the front armor. I'm not sure what it'd be, but it seems like the bits that branch off from the chest piece should be connected to something or at least line up with another bit. It just seems incomplete.I would be happy if the many chest pieces had corresponding back pieces.
Though, now that we've seen the celestial armor, the chest armor actually has a front and front and back version. So, maybe there won't be an enforcer back piece. -

Quote:It's like a shield charging foot stomp. So, short teleport hop plus a foot stomp, then if you have foot stomp on the character already?Spring Attack is the greatest power in the game?!?!?
This pool power is better than Foot Stomp?
Awesome!!
That's right, double foot stomp.
And yes, Charleston Chews are awesome. -
Maybe they could add the pumpkin to the list of things propelled?

Nice, I like it a lot. Though, I kind of wish we had the option of the the skirt minus the side skirts.
