  1. Which was my point if your in the air and hit by a strong KB power (one that actually sends you back not just down) all you do is float there for a few seconds tho would look much better if you did go flying back.
  2. Siphon life also recently got a damage boost did it not and that's got a pretty quick animation i recon you could get your self a nice quick ST attack chain from Shadow punch / Smite / Siphon Life pop a proc in Shadow punch and Smite (I have Mako's Bite and Touch of Death in mine) and you should end up with pretty impressive single target damage.
  3. There's also the question of do secret identities exist in the CoH verse I've always had the feeling that they don't being a hero in paragon is like being a Cop or a Firefighter or in the Army or any other job for that matter.
  4. I'm not saying they should but your reasoning for hovers higher end cost was that it was useful to Ranged ATs so i followed that true as being less useful for melee ATs so there for they shouldn't suffer the higher endurance usage.

Also while yes a scrapper dose not receive a endurance discount for its shields compared to a tank those shields are still useful while a melee AT out of Melee combat isn't useful.
  5. then surly by that logic it should have a varying end cost dependant on your AT as being out of melee is less beneficial to scrappers, tanks, Brutes, stalkers, and certain dommi builds?

Also how dose combat jumping prevent you from staying out of range if anything in some cases it should be better as your not gonna get immobilized?
  6. Spider man has used his power on the sly un costumed tho as has superman. then there's batman who's always batman even when he's Bruce wane he's still batman and constantly uses his skills. and as Raven says what about those that cant become civs most of my heroes and villains are what they all of the time on duty or not

The MESS for example is a collection of Earth, stone, random chunks of tech, all held together by pretty much force of will he could make him self look more human but he's never going to be human.

Also why would getting mugged cost you Inf? Inf be it Influence or Infamy are a representation of your standing within the community why would you loose some of that if you were mugged no one would know it was you so no loss of influence. Course you could turn hero and fail to stop the muggers i would see how that could loose you standing.

As for under cover as a civ missions they could just be mission where your able to go undercover as a civ at least then some game mechanic like the look like a midnight er charm or the freak disguise could be implemented and if it doesn't soot your character you could just ignore the content.
  7. Funny you should mention end cost just been tacking a look in mids to compare the 2 and hover has a higher end cost than CJ.

Combat jumping: end cost .07/s 1.88def -10.4imob .2mph jump speed 8ft jump height
also gives increased maneuvrability while jumping

Hover: end cost .2/s 1.88def gives, flyspeed of 5.4mph
also gives you semi KB protection

So from looking at it hover is actually worse than CJ by a it uses more end (admittidly not a lot more) and gives less benefits

taking it further slotting hover with 3 flight speed SO's gives you a speed of 19.6mph a hole 5.3 mph faster than normal run (14.3) granted you do have vertical movement and at that speed its useful for combat. How useful in combat tho I'm not sure considering a lot of combat takes place in caves and corridors where head room is limited.

So i still recon Hover deserves a small speed boost give it a base speed of about 6 or 7 mph it would still be slower than normal but would at least have some decent maneuvrability strait of the bat.
  8. Well if they were in mayhems i may make even more effort to chuck them about the place but no not really.
  9. ok maybe you would need more than coper underware. Longjohns? but in theary its sound advise
  10. If they were gonna actually let us design our online avatars wouldn't that just add to the potential for lag hardly worth it when people hardly look at the civs anyway
  11. I still feel as a stand alone power hover could do with a small speed boost when compared to combat jumping as CJ is immediately useful without need of slotting while hover requires fly speed enhancements and sprint to become effective.

But saying that its not a huge issue i just recon hover would be more useful if it at least let you move at something approaching normal walking speed strait out the box. but i certainly wouldn't want to see the devs go to the trouble of having it give different speeds dependant on your altitude.
  12. I kinda like the fact elec attacks never "miss" makes me look great when fighting clocks :d and i always kinda put it down to the electricity dose hit you but has no effect (your earthed, wearing copper underwear, are just a plain hard [censored], etc)

But yea it should probably have a animation for missing
  13. Sounds like a good idea to me i cant imagine getting at 1 is gone brake the game, and you've all ready collected the Cains and paid the inf.

So yes it should be available from the point you purchase it.
  14. Yup but just because DMC has air hike its hardly magical infact Air hike is just like difrent version of of CJ/SJ as they both increase your jump hight and alow you to change direction mid jump.

  15. Huh whats double jump got to do with magical?

    a quick idea

    Natural Travel Power: Free Running

    [/ QUOTE ]
Interesting idea, but I'm not clear what it adds to the game compared to the existing Fitness and Leaping pools.

The existing passive power Fitness/Hurdle gives you superhuman jumping ability (jump height of 3.3 metres! the world record for the high jump is 2.45) even before you start slotting it. Similarly, the existing passive power Fitness/Swift in combination with Inherent/Sprint gives you superhuman running ability. (Swift + Sprint is faster than an Olympic 100m runner and you can sustain it for a lot more than 100 metres.)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Honestly not a lot its really just another take on the current fitness pool
  17. You probably could go staminaless but it would take a lot of work of course when you got high anuff in lvl to take conserve power and energy drain it would become a peice of cake.

you'd be looking at slotting all your attacks for MAX (probably 3 or 4 end reds eatch) endurance reduction as well as probably 2 end red in each sheild up till atleast 29 where you could have energy drain slotted.

after 29 you could swap out some of those end reducers in attacks for more acc or recharge

Personally i would go for or the hammer attacks 4endred/2acc pre 29 and 2endred/2acc/2recharge after 29 you could also probably quite safely drop stone fists at this point if you had taken it.

Heres a build i half considered going for on a stone/energy (i went for stone/fire in the end)

Its not a great build and has a lot of powers stuck in just because there was nothing else to take what i was really looking at was the fact that fault could be combined with aid self as fault has a recharge of 10 seconds and aid self has a recharge of 10.9 with 2 recharge IOs (10seconds if 3 recharge IOs) so you could trigger fault then use aid self in relative safely even mid combat
  18. a quick idea

    Natural Travel Power: Free Running

    1. Quick footed: you are naturally quick footed and can move slightly faster than normal and avoid some attacks: Passive +Defence +Runspeed
    2. Leap: after gathering your strength you are able to jump greater distances for a short period of time: click +Jumpspeed +jumphight
    3. Sure footed: you have a excellent sense of balance making you more difficult to knock down: click Knockback protection 2pts (can be slotted for more)
    4.

Not sure about a 4th power i was thinking some form of endurance discount power any suggestions?
  19. Like Ravenswing says the powers don't make much sense there also more tech themed than natural.
  20. Yup i know for a fact BT throttle the ports as it took me a age to download i12 (i think) however after after several phone calls lots of complaining and much pointing out that i was paying for there top package so that i could make full use of broadband without fear of going over my usage limit. Every time they assured me they didn't employ port throttling but strangely my speed drastically improved.

Out of curiosity what ports dose CoH use and is there a nice simple way to check weather there being throttled (other than looking at the update speed and going that's not right)
  21. Not sure it means anything or not but if you look in your CoH folder there's a cyder folder and is it not cyder that's being used to make it work on macs

If that's the case i would assume that it wont actually matter what version of the game you get its going to work.
  22. On Villains i tended to work my way up the beach towards the Cap ferry normally by the time i would get there i would be 8/9 so i would then move to cap and hunt in the arena district till i hit 10 then move on to papers.

But a set of tunnels in the same vein as the sewers would be nice

Could have a network of tunnels and sewers running beneath the isles i would be tempted tho to make it a proper hole new zone with mobs going all the way from 1 to 50 with a few contacts scattered about near entrances maybe a zone story arc exploring the various rivalries between the factions that live and use the tunnels there could also be 1 or 2 news paper like contacts that give repeatable missions things along the lines of

"faction X has got out of control go take them out"

"recent cave in has revealed the entrance to a hidden lab"

actually may go right this up as a suggestion.
  23. They would all either involve power customisation (unlikely) implementation of branching power sets (just as unlikely) or them doing hole new power sets with different animations (extremely unlikely)
  24. Um Lets see

-no full disconects but plenty of Map Servers
    -I'm with BT
-I'm in Armadale (Edinburgh ish area) i think i connect thru the Gyle
