  1. agreed its as if some one forgot to include its other bit i can only assume they couldn't think of something so heres some suggestions

    "Gladiator armour" going with a cimoria theme how about some Gladiator armour should be pretty easy to achieve using some of the roman pieces that don't unlock when from the ITF things like "Daedlus helmet" and the shoulder/arm guard Worn by the Minotaurs. or some pieces inspired by what HULK wears in planet hulk

  2. weirdly Union seems to get active again about 3 or 4am and over the last couple of weeks I've had some great teams in the wee small hours of the morning (holidays are great).

    but yes i agree having access to a wider variety of time zones is a must if there gonna do a full on CoH2 but its something i would like to see introduced regardless.
  3. Yep its definetly going to be a Launch pad of soem description i remember the leak also if you hand around and talk to the workmen they some times mention it.

    As to the server set up they could do something really interesting and have each server different and either have them working as parallel realities (gold old comic book stable there) or as different continents with some means of easily moving between them.

Well they could easily link bloody bay and sirens call by turning the archnos flyer's / longbow choppers into i kind of PVP ferry/train system allowing you to travel from pvp zone to pvp zone without the need to enter another zone (in fact they could [censored] it to the black helicopter line as it seems some what underused.

    RV is marginally more difficult to justify using game lore as its reached by a special portal either in Atlas Park or Grandsvill but the chopper lines could be expanded to these to zones pretty easily.

While i tend to object to the idea of a lvl increase as i tend to view a character that hits 50 as finished (less so now that we have inventions and stuff) if those extra 10 or 20 lvls brought something solid to the game i wouldn't complain but it would have to be more than just new mission content or being able to take some of those powers missed on the road to 50.

    Course with the wide net of source material they can draw from it should be pretty easy to give the players more maybe take the heroes to space some kind of galatic disaster or something and allow players characters to gain new and unusual "cosmic" powers.

    Updater bugged?

    Had a similar problem last week and figuring it was a network issue at first however it turns out that doing a rollback on XP buggers the updater if there's been a patch after the point you roll it back to. I assume that the roll back partially rolls the installation of the game back as well but not all the way back so it gets a bit confused and just sits there.

    Luckily i could copy my installation from my other PC and then it worked fine but I'm sure there must be some way of forcing the updater to run Bridger once mentioned it and it involved deleting check sum files but i cant remember exactly and would hate for you to bugger your installation on my half remembered instructions.

  9. Now a large expansion sounds like a excellent idea and is something i would happily pay full price for (£30 or whatever it is for a PC game these days) while i would be less keen to start afresh on what would be effectively a new game.

  11. Respec trials seem like a good means to pic up merits did the 3rd villain respec last night in about 40mins with a 4 man team (brute, MM, 2 x stalkers) it went pretty much without a hitch and resulted in some nice merits at the end.

    On a related note dose any one know if there's a compiled list of how many merits you get for mission arc's?

    I'll answer this question with a question...

    When NC released Lineage 2, did they allow character transfer from Lineage 1? The answer to that might provide a clue to the answer to the same question in a possible CoH2.

    No idea however there is some kind of weird grandfathering thing for guildwars2 where your achievements in guild wars will give you something in guildwars2 but its not a strait character transfer.

    I suppose the question is how close a sequel would be to the original.

    Tho i still don't quite understand why MMOs need a sequel to my mind it seems a bit like a throw back to stand alone games.

He he sorry it was late and its a good long while since i looked into different swords so that was all from memory but i think my basic point still stands that there's nothing stopping you wielding any traditionally 2 handed weapon as a single handed weapon provided you have the strength and skill to do so.

    Thinking about ranged sets it could work perhaps giving a "device" and a power animation to each set or it could allow you to more specialise in things like range, AOE or single target etc with each having its on disadvantages for example long ranged attacks would have good damage and exigent range but long recharges and rooting times

    Now assuming that is what you said here's my reply,

    I believe original game wise it was the katana that shared its animations with BS so both were in fact single handed weapons. If were talking about real life what then its important to understand that what CoH calls a broad sword is more like a B******d Sword a true broad sword would be much larger.

    While yes there are differences in how blades like the katana and broadsword are wielded many of those differences are because of the way the sword is designed there's nothing stopping you wielding a katana single handed just as there's nothing stopping you wielding a the CoH broadsword 2 handed add to this that if you were of sufficient strength (say if you were a super hero gifted with above normal strength lvls)

    So in game how the suggested system would work is

    tier 1 attack = katan slash
    tier 2 attack = rapier dart
    tier 3 attack = broadsword gash

    so pulling these moves of would result in you first performing a 2 handed slash attack followed by a quick darting attack followed by a single handed gash attack what blade you were welding of course would be entirely dependant on what model you had chosen so it could be anything from a rusty blade to a Katana or a rapier to a Rikti energy blade.

    Now after typing all that i really would love to see it implemented even if it was just for weapon sets
  15. the argument of weather or not PvP was intended to be in CoX is pretty mute as its in and i cant see them removing it even if the do decide to do a CoH2 its still going to have PvP.

    CoH problem was that when they did implement it it was badly implemented

    when there was only heroes they gave us arenas but there was no league system or similar in place so it was left up to the players and the different groups to come up with there on leagues i believe if the arenas had come with a assortment of different leagues they would have attracted far more interest.

    when CoV came along i think they once again made a mistake at that point they should have went for a more open world PvP system IMO using a series of flags for those players who didn't want to take part or something.

    That's not entirely true sorudo going from a 7800 to a 8800 will make a difference in CoH especially villains side or at least thats what i found when i moved up from a 78 to a 88
  17. Not really the clocks and the banished don't really fight each other as neither have something the other faction want.

    You could have a lovely mystical war between banished and CoT though as there's plenty of ill will between them you could even chuck in some renegade Mu to spice things up.

  21. Ok I'm pretty sure i know the answer to this already but would the Winters gift 20% slow resist reduce the amount of slow from routed? (stone armour power)

  23. Sounds a bit like what i suggested a while back where branching powers could be used to give sets that used a mixture of weapons and fists the option to have either a weapon based attack or non weapon attack.

    You just seem to be taking it further so if I'm correct you would have something like.
    (using fire melee as a example

    Tier. Power a Power b Power c
    1 Scorch fire sword slash AOE variant

    so when picking your tier 1 power you could pick any one of these but you could only pic one so if you selected the AOE the the other 2 powers would be greyed out. its kinda like adding new power sets into existing sets.

    Probably really easy to do


    (sorry had to say it) probably take a fair bit of work to get it done for every power set in the game but then not every power would need to have multiple choices especially at first.
  24. Have to say this is a pretty bad show from Support there should have been a email informing you of a failed payment and there should have been one telling you the account was banned for reason X.

    All in all it sounds like there's been a right balls up between departments and between paypal (did you contact them by the way?)

    I think its basically the same that's why tiny characters seem to run faster than huge characters but are in fact traveling at the same speed
