  1. Can we have a list of all these never seen features that appear in SFs please?

    I imagine that's why there's going to be things like Dev's choice and what not to weed out the gash missions and keep the exilent ones

    as to your claim that the player made missions wont be near the quality of the developers developed SF that's quite a claim when the details of MA are largely unknown i also think your seriously underestimating the creativity of the player base

    On another point what would you like these new TFs to cover TFs villain side tend to delve deeper into the back story of the game tying up unanswered questions and what not I'm hard pushed at the moment to think of any massively gaping holes in the CoV back story that aren't already covered.

  3. I think you may very well be a lost cause then Londoner there is basically no difference between a TF and Mission Arc other than the fact your not locked into a mission arc normally.

    Yes TFs have some special things like Romy and his buffing nictus but dose that really add loads of replay ability?

    As to MA doing nothing for you how can you say that and complain about replay-ability MA gives the potential for unlimited missions and im sure there's going to be some real gems amongst them
  4. Ok I'm getting confused now so ill start again

    while villains lack the number of TF that heroes have they gain far better mission arks especially in the later lvls so if its a TF like experience your after just gather your team go to oraborus (sp) and do a full ark of missions every one will receive rewards and you'll be doing a series of missions in much the same way as you do a series of missions in a TF

    I would suggest.

    Any of the von Grun mission arcs there great fun there's a few temp powers to be had and you get to fight the woodsman.

    Vindication from Abyss a short arc but you take on the Vindicators

    Ancient History / snake fest. another fun set of missions where you can once again face the snakes

    and I'm sure there's other gems in there as well so there's no shortage of linked missions to do villains side

    As to MA and what it'll bring I'm sure well see some great well crafted missions and some could provided a real challenges depending what features make the finale cut.

    All that's not to say some more villian TFs wouldn't be appreciated but i wouldn't say they were desperately needed to fill leveling gaps.

We got 9 TFs less content to not do and thus the reason vill TFs take 60% less time is because we got nowt else to do and know them like the back of our hands as we lack 9 others to mix it up!

    I wonder if the lack of dev support in adding new SFs has a lot to do with the fact that fewer people play villains? It's just not worth their while.

    But certainly there should be a SF for every level range in the game IMO.

    I doubt it i recon well get at least 1 joint TF/SF for the coming storm maybe even a villain and a hero version.

    Also a quick question to those that wont more SFs villain side. Why? is it purely because heroes have more? or is it down to merits?

    If its down to merits whats wrong with OB get a team together then go do one of the mission arcs villains have some very good story arcs in the 40-50 range and if done as a Ora TF all members get merritts.
  8. A new box would be nice and i belive that when the mac client came out there was somthing mentioned about all future releases of the game would come with both PC and Mac version so there are perhaps plans in the works to have some kind of re-release.

    As to who's stocking what where i was some what surprised to notice that my local game had no copies of WoW or its expansions they did however have a lone copy of GvE in the bargain section. game station just had the one copy of WoW and a copy of burning crusade both in a very tatty looking boxes (when will they learn cardboard cases are bad) but no CoH. but my personal favorite go's to HMV who still have a copy of the CoV special edition tho at 44.99 i cant see it shifting fast.

    So even the Uber game that is WoW is slowly getting pushed of the shelves

    Really? they still grit the roads here and the grit contains salt how weird.

    as the the not being cleared/gritted/salted i can only guess you live some where really remote and not on a main route as its those they tend to keep clear or that you're one of these unlucky few that live in a town where snow = end of the world.
  12. I don't even think its the councils that are to blame i instead blame the general public I've never understood the fact that you get more than a light covering of snow and the entire populace of a city grind to a halt

    "OMG Snow i cant go out in that i cant drive in that"

    yet they still go out?

    Its only bloody snow don't drive like a nob and you'll be fine but no in general you either end up with nobody willing to move or driving like a nob and then being surprised when they hit the brakes and they don't stop.

    Most annoying are people with 4x4s there made for this kind of weather but no there's dear old mum on the school run doing something like 1 mile a hour :O why get a 4x4 and not use it as such??? personally I've a old 1991 VW t4 the ABS is non existent the power steering works if it feels like it yet i can quite happily drive in the snow at a reasonable speed without fear.

    If your not gonna drive correctly don't go on the roads and don't complain about the fact that you cant drive on the roads were in the 21st century I'm sure you can find some way of amusing yourselves.

  13. Thing is not fighting the mobs is not skipping content its just not fighting mobs its playing to your strengths

    look at it this way 2 teams team 1 consisting of 8 stalkers and team 2 consisting of 8 brutes.

    by and large the stalkers are more than likely going to play to there advantage and avoid mobs where they can and move directly to the objective after all why waist time and risk potential death fighting the minions when you can go strait to the head. the brutes on the other hand are more than likely going to smash everything in sight between them and the finale boss.

    in the end yes the stalkers probably completed the mission in a fraction of the time the brute take but will have a received a fraction of the XP, Inf, salvage etc that the brutes have received.

    Its down to personal preference really.

    Of course the problem with this is if the dev's re adjusted things like merits to work of time spent on mission all the farmers would do is go to end of TF then sit and wait but this could be solved with things like patrols spawning with heightened perception even better if attacking these spawned patrols caused other to attack as well
  14. I would take a look at the other monsters beasts that exist in the CoH verse when it comes to the attacks at the moment there all pretty much either a punch or a bite which also leads to problems with animation.

    as i said bite attacks are more than likely going to cause animation night mare at the moment we only have one mob that makes use of a "bite" attack and that's the snakes why use a kind of snake strike looking animation which looks good for them but i would imagine would look a bit weird coming from a player character.

    another hard one to animate I've no idea how this could be achieved other than using something like jump kick animation with you going from a crouched position to a leap but could end up looking a bit meh as well as having a long animation which is bad for a tier 2 power as normally tier 1 and 2 are quickish attacks

    meh rally is all i can think to say the flurry animation is not the most loved animation in teh world so i could see this being skipped a lot you could perhaps replace the animation with the rapid attack from claws (i forget its name)

    this could be handled a few ways if it was done either as a single target melee fear ala touch of fear or as a click aoe fear ala the presence pool it would probably fit ok into a melee primary but if your envisioning a toggle type power then i would say it should be moved to a defensive set.

    seem to be missing a bit of the text but going by whats there the biggest problem i can see is that if it has a extra crit change that would need to be considered when setting its damage but then changed when moving the set to brutes/tanks as they don't get crit attacks

    As others have said the tier 9 is kinda out of place sounding more like a defencive tier 9 than a attack tier 9.

    you could change it more to a +Recharge +Damage +recovery type super build up kinda power which could be interesting and would serve to separate the set from the other melee attack sets.

    So i would try and rework it do away with some of the bite attacks and replace them with a more generic swipe attack if there was gonna be a bite attack in there i would be tempted to make it something special and have it up as the tier 9.

    do away with beast eye and instead turn Chilling call into something like

    Chilling howl (click) PBAOE fear (mag 2/3) cone (foe KB)
    you fill the air with a long chilling howl causing all who hear it to stop in there tracks and cower and fear further any caught directly in the blast will be flung backwards such is the force of the howl

    you mite also consider some kind of spit/bile spray attack in there.

  16. I would guess its just the way the game handles powers or something maybe the Mezz protection offered by dwarf form is "lingers" after the transformation so giving human form a few seconds of Mezz resist before it wares of.

    I cant really see it being a major gamebreaker
  17. I Think Ghosting has its place even on TF missions it is after all a stalkers primary skill and illusion trollers also have those handy invis powers but it should be made difficult.

    More mobs that have good perception especially in patrol groups would add a proper degree of stealth i think.

    what do you mean by unusual/weaker mix of toons? as I've been on a few ITFs now with pretty varied team makeups and we've only struggled once to take him out and we eventually did it.

    well yes several are also easier. the degree of difficulty a game has is dependant very much on the user and there mind set and so exactly which games are easier / harder will more than likely differ from player to player

    yes I'm sure they did but nothing like the majority duel boxers are very likely a very small minority of players as it takes a greater lvl of skill and expense to duel box properly and only by doing it properly are you going to see a good increase in your rewards

  21. Yea i realise that GR unfortunately the favorite trick seems to be clone card details and spend the cash in Australia of all places.

    Out of curiosity if Visa have similar tek but have still to make it compulsory what will happen when/if they do.

    I assume at that point the in game store would have to be reworked?
  22. Yea got to agree the crey thing is weird there like the lex Luther of paragon every one thinks there great but really there evil to the core this should be reflected in game.

    change there zone spawning so they only spawn as enemies in back always and what not doing deals with other factions

    get some sign up in places like fault line and that along the lines of

    "Crey industries working for a better tomorrow since 1995"

    "Become a hero join the paragon protector"

    and also as suggested have paragon protectors in lower lvl zones as friendly units.

    Hey guys i see a lot of SS/WP brutes when I'm on villains why do you think that is?

    SS seems over powered to me i think they should take a look at it especially rage it seems broken that you can multi stack it

    I think willpower is over powered it doesn't seem to have anuff of a hole in it to make up for all its advantages.
