    Reworked TP pool

    [ QUOTE ]
I'm not totally convinced about 1 - we have long had the difference in whether an ally or foe is a valid target and changing this would mean characters with both abilities would save a slot - this could provide difficulties with implementation as they would initially have duplicated powers. There would also be a potential for griefing by tping other players against their will when they are not enemies. Prompt teleport isn't appropriate in this case as that would allow enemies to ignore it.
You'd also need to consider the WS equivalent powers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The problem of duplicate powers is largely a null issue as depending how it was implemented they would either loose there current power selections and gain the equivalent new ones or would keep there picked powers until they respec.

the greifing thing dose cause a bit of a problem but not a massive one all friends would receive the accept TP message (if they had it switched on) and foe's would not within normal PvE there would be no change with PvP the fact that your either one faction or the other would give you a friend / Foe flag the biggest problem would be free for all PvP in which case all = foe unless teamed with you.

In this case that the warshade equivalents weather they need changing or not should be judged on there on merit as there not the same power.

Sure, I understand that, but the limit of 100 odd metres a teleport is just frustrating. I'm sure there is some engine limitation on it, but surely if you can see it you should be able to teleport to it?

[/ QUOTE ]You could... you know... enhance it.

Also, I see a distinct lack of Group TP which I don't like seeing. The replacement would also make the Assemble the Team vet reward redundant.

I -do- like the idea of a Teleport Target that combines Recall Friend and TP Foe, and I like the idea of a combat "blink" ability, though I'm not entirely sold on your concept for it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

While yes it would make the assemble the team power some what redundant I'm of the opinion that in game pick able powers should be better than there vet reward counterparts as every one will eventually get the vet reward but you must choose to dedicate 3 power pics (in this case) to get the superior power.

As to the blink power i was trying to represent teleportation used offencivly/defensively within combat in a similar way that characters like marvels night crawler use it the chance of confuse possibly isn't the best representation of this but it seemed to work.

When i first started playing, i had the idea that with TP i could pick a point on the map, and i would teleport there. Was kinda disappointed when i saw what it actually did.

But i think that would be a pretty nifty power!
Sort of like a mission teleporter but in-zone only.

    [/ QUOTE ]

yea i recon every ones thought that when they first looked at TP i know i did but then it just be over powered

Could be, or maybe they just designed it that way so it didn't allow tp'ers to reach their destination much quicker than anybody else. Who knows...

    [/ QUOTE ]

except TPers do get to there destination much quicker than any one else any ways as TP is the quickest travel power for traveling a distance.
  5. Something i don't get is that every one seems more than happy to blame merits for the sole state of the market but surly duel builds has had a hefty effect on the availability of recipes as well. As they'll be those that want to create 2 fully tricked out builds so reducing the number of top range merritts they'll also be those that will outfit there second build with the less *** after recipes so reducing there availability as well.

Also prices for the not so good recipes seems to have dropped a fair bit and i know personally that instead of selling some recipes at the AH I've been selling them at contacts

people saying they don't want long TF's

[/ QUOTE ]These people have no right to whine anyway, so who cares? Nobody will be there forcing them to run these new long SFs, if we ever did get any.

A lot of "/unsigned" comments on new (or old) ideas are stupid for this very reason. People dislike the idea of content they wouldn't want to play, but they completely overlook the fact that the idea might be 1) completely OPTIONAL, and 2) something other people might want.

Honestly, why shoot down an idea that would not affect you -at all- if it was in the game, yet would make others happy?

Rant not directed at anyone in particular. I seem to be giving off hostile vibes with my posts these days, so just sayin'.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I quite like the idea of a very long TF not just a 3 or 4 hour effort but a proper 10-12 hour long epic story TF the kind of thing a dedicated team of people could do over a week or 2.

    Reworked TP pool

The TP pool has always bugged me it just doesn't seem as good as the other travel powers so here's my go at improving it.

1.Teleport target: you are able teleport your target closer to you.
(works like a combined version of TP Foe/TP friend)

2.Combat teleportation: You are able to rapidly teleport very small distances while this isn't much good for traveling doing it during combat can leave your opponent momentarily confused.
(a very short range TP it would have a very low end cost per use and would work pretty much instantly without the normal TP animation just flash as you leave and a flash as you arrive. The confuse would have a high mag so that it could work on anything up to a EB but would have a low chance of actually firing of maybe 5 or 10 percent.)

    3. Teleportation.
(works the same as TP dose the now)

    4. Gather Allies: using all your skill you are able to call all your team mates to you're current position even if they are a great distance away
(assemble the team with added cross zone teleportation.)
  8. QR

Nope don't see the point the travel powers are pretty much fine as is and others have said its relatively easy to do without a travel power for the majority of the game.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
I've never witnessed a reign of terror first hand, I mean Kerensky managed a reign of confusion, is it like one of those?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think so going by what a simple thing like the pronunciation of her name can cause.
  10. course the other problem with adding more zones is it'll further dilute the player base we already get people complaining about lack of heroes in zones if they were to add all those extra zones it would be worse.
  11. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]

But yeah this has been rumoured for a long time. It's a nice dream but the moment they give us a shiny new zone there'll be loads of cries from the fanbase saying "what a load of &$%@, why didn't you revamp Boomtown and Eden instead of giving us new content?

    [/ QUOTE ]

You have to admit that opening up a Space Station/moon base is a better seller then a revamp boomtown when you want to make a big splash with the 5th year anniversary,

    [/ QUOTE ]

The thing to do tho would be combine the 2 things they could revamp boomtown into a kinda launch area with direct connection between it and the space station which could act as a hub type zone to the moon base and other of world areas.

If a full boomtown revamp was to much as its a big ish zone they could partially revamp it splitting it in a similar way to fault line.
  12. and you can say without a shadow of a doubt that all those bug reports reported were the same bug

I know for a fact I've had at least 2 problems that turned out not to be a problem with CoH but a problem my end
  13. QR

Yes while the "its your ISP" response is a royal pain in the [censored] not reporting the problem is worse as it'll be assumed that there's no problem. the unfortunate thing is that its always the user that has to prove the problems not there end and its something else and it can take a lot of time to convince them other wise.

but doing nothing about it wont help solve it
  14. Out of curiosity how many of the people who have had rubberbanding, mapserver disconnects, power lag etc have bugged them it may seem pointless and yes its dam tedious going thru all the pre set questions but it will help identify problems.
  15. [ QUOTE ]

As for the complete disregard of there EU player base ( I don't just mean us)... well the thing is we have been ignored for a long time now...for instance we have been playing on out dated servers for so long now, these servers can't break 200 users without threatening to have a ruddy seizure.

    [/ QUOTE ]

What makes you think that the servers are out dated? as far as we know there the same speck as those used in the US and for a time were better speck than the US ones.

Unless your doing something really intensive servers don't tend to go out dated very quickly and have a much longer life span than a home PC.

    Store interface?

Cant say I've come across the "focus" problem i do like the idea of being able to navigate to salvage by clicking on its entry in the recipe that would be very handy as would the ability to view what you have stored at the vault.

Maybe they could combine a reworking of the store interface with a upgrade to the market interface as i do think it would be nice to unify the different shop interfaces.

    definitely /signed

surly the easiest thing would be to have the shops use the WW/BM interface

    Oh sweet Jebus no.

I've a special rage-filled place in my heart for whatever idiot designed that interface.

    It's so bloody clunky.

    [/ QUOTE ]

weird i find it pretty easy to use and navigate certainly its a dam site easier to use than the current shop interface.

Easy is not for the jedi.

Or, as my wife would put it: Just because logically it would be easy, does not mean that the implementation with computer code would be easy. In fact, it might be more complex, prone to bugs and harder to use than what we have now.

Meh its a suggestion board not a is this a "technically visible option board" and i know it kills ravenswing a little every time some one suggests somethings easy

If it was to be changed i would much prefer to see the ability to exchange powers for slots and vice verse so at 32 if you didn't want to take a power you could have 2/3 slots instead but at the same time you could take powers at 33 and 34 if you really wanted of course it would need some kind of limit on it maybe a maximum of 40 powers

    [/ QUOTE ]
I have often thought about something like this but it would just make characters too powerful too fast I think. For example until 22 I don't bother slotting anything so I could do without slots until about level 15 then pick slots from then until 22, that would give me some quite good powers and a full attack chain much earlier than planned and would mean I had stamina whereas someone going the normal route wouldn't and thus I would be better than them until it evened out.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes and no you would still have the limit of when a power could be picked so stamina travel powers would still come at 14 and stamina at 20 if you were to go in that direction using the powers for slots method you could have both a travel power and stamina by 20 but that's no earlier than a some one using the current power slots power method alos i think your criminally under estimating the power of slots for any armour using toon slots are a necessity getting those precious slots into your armours as early as possible can make the difference between surviving a spawn and not

The same can be said for any of the AT slots will alter your survivability for the better. In Fact the potential in my suggested method for a over powered toon doesn't lie in the number of powers you could have but the number of slots you could allocate to early powers for example a fire blast / mental manipulation blaster could have flares, fire blast, fire ball and subdual all 6 slotted by lvl 10 giving him a lovely attack chain that he can pretty much fire of constantly from 80 foot away

    MailBox Feature

Maybe its the thing that they couldn't do but now can even course if there gonna over hall the mail system that would deserve its own issue with a appropriate tittle

something like "gon postal" or something
  22. I kinda like this idea but as others have pointed out it has the potential to cripple the market the sell back price would have to be substantially less than the purchase price maybe as low as 1/10 or 1 merritt whichever is greater so for something that would cost you 200 merritts your only going to get 2 merritts for selling it to a merit vendor while you could get a few thousand inf for it on the market
  23. If that's the case the /unsigned if your running on invincible you should get a AV if you don't want a AV don't run on invincible
  24. Yes and No as others have said the space between 1 power and the next isn't massive even in the higher lvls the problem i have is often i get to the higher lvls and there's nothing left to take power wise that i wont/need and would much rather have more slots to make those powers i do have better. however on the other hand I've had alts that all i wanted was powers and i didn't particularly care for slots. but as things are there pretty well balanced.

If it was to be changed i would much prefer to see the ability to exchange powers for slots and vice verse so at 32 if you didn't want to take a power you could have 2/3 slots instead but at the same time you could take powers at 33 and 34 if you really wanted of course it would need some kind of limit on it maybe a maximum of 40 powers

also more powers would be needed the easiest way to gain more would be to add more pool powers and remove the 4 pool limit they could also remove the lvl 41 limit on epics all together or move it to earlier and increase the number of epics available.

but its a load of work for something that isn't really broken.
