MA = the BASE AND GAME KILLER!
Yesterday my base got "map failed to start" messages.
Remember reading a GM will respond when you send petitions now = BS.
Today my base did "start" you know what I found when I got in? :
A small empty room!
Hundreds of millions in inf for Purple IO's and top end IO's all gone.
"Help" channel gets a broken message.
"Request" channel along with bug reports and petitions get Ignored = I'm just loving the hell out of I14 and MA!
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm confused what has the destruction of your base got to do with mission architect (in the context of the original topic) people writing bad missions aren't going to destroy a base. -
[ QUOTE ]
I'd like it broken down further (this is actually different from your suggestion, but heck, bandwagon!) -
As in ratings for plot, characters, interactions, that kind of thing.
Because whilst I've enjoyed a few of the arcs I've played, I've had to rate them down because of spelling mistakes, info that contradicts other info (as in the character name was one thing, the info called them another), 4th wall breaking stuff too (not Judgement Dave's arc, I'd like to add, I liked that 4th wall breaking) - like the clue being provided by a speech from a bodybag! That kind of thing.
[/ QUOTE ]
I like this idea it would help the author target the area of there arc that needs improvement and may help them catch things thieve missed especially things like spelling i know from experience you can run your speech through a spell checker a dozen times but still miss something -
If they were going to do that they should adjust the numbers required for defeats so on a basic account if you only play on one server 12 slots so i recon they should times all requirements by 12 if they were to make badges global.
So instead of needing 500 skuls for the "Kill Skuls Badge" you would need 6000
or to unlock the nictus sword and shield you would need to defeat romi 60 times
because as it is the required numbers are balanced per charichter so to make it global you would need to balance it for multiple characters. -
yea that seems to be the best tatic pic missions that use non custom mobs that way you don't end up facing a Super Strength/energy melee boss that can kill you in a single hit.
tho saying that i did come across some good missions last night.
one called Kung Foo fighting the custom mobs were pretty well balanced with only the EB being a chalane but there were to pets to rescue which helped even things up a lot
there was another clearly created for badging but it was a good run lots of victims to rescue that gave buffs so you could always run back to them (they didn't follow for some reason) and they would buff you up -
Sorry just don't see the point really the largest percentage of the badges track your characters progression as a hero or villain recording there achievements.
why would a lvl 1 villain have the badge for defeating recluse a mission you cant get till your well into the 40s
then there's the accolades making badges global would effectively give a lvl 1 all the accolades you had collected
unlock able contacts would be unlocked even though you hadn't done the tasks that unlock that contact on the character
and finally unlock able weapons and costume pieces while i would love to see these awarded on a account wide doing so would remove some of the drive to get to the point where they can be unlocked. -
Not really got stuck into MA yet but i can definitely see me doing some leveling through it especially the early levels the biggest problem I've had so far are the number of missions that are just insanely difficult I'm all for a challenge but when you struggle even to take a even lvl minion and there's the prospect of EBs and AVs further in i tend to just quit out and go find another mish.

A break will not chance the priority of the developers. What are their future goals, what was their goal with MA? (apart from making own farm maps). To give a group of players the chance to make their own, while it will fade away in the 'avalange' of MA missions available?
[/ QUOTE ]
Very true but it can change your own attitude towards it.
Ok n00b question of the day. City Vault wassat?
[/ QUOTE ]
A website (probably with the Web2.0 monikor stuck on it since that's so in right now) which was fed your character details from the game. Sorta like the Badge Tracker sites, Wiki's for characters and things like that on one official website fed from the game database.
They even got as far as sticking the Options for it into the game somewhere (there's toggles to Show/Hide your details online) before it disappeared without a trace or explanation.
[/ QUOTE ]
Intrestingly the web address is still active
http://www.cityofheroes.com/cityvault/
However it just asks for login details and wont let you any further so maybe NC did get it but whoever created it didn't move across so work has halted on it or something
would be nice to get some kind of official comment on it. -
your links broken im afraid

The City Vault was taken out into the desert by Posi, Castle, BABs and a small excitable Italian-American sterotype and buried in a shallow grave without a marker.
We don't talk about it any more.
Well *we* do, things like "Hey, where'd it go? Isn't it way overdue now?". We just don't get any sort of response other than "Erm, soon? Hey look over there. A red car".
[/ QUOTE ]
Personally, I suspect some kind of legal shenanigans when Cryptic sold the IP to NCSoft. IIRC, the City Vault was started before this sale, and news of it pretty much vanished after the sale... I don't think we'll EVER see it.
[/ QUOTE ]
I wonder if champions will have our city vault? -

It certainly looks very nice, and includes some things we've been asking for for a very long time, such as a proper cloak and especially costume change emotes.
But I have a question. Are we moving over to ONLY getting new costume pieces and emotes via paid-for addon packs? Seeing as we didn't get any free ones in this issue, which is pretty unusual...
[/ QUOTE ]
Twas sorta inevitable once they started down the microtransactions route with the Wedding Pack really Why give things for free when you just know lots of people will pay for them?
Not really too surprising, the IP is old, there is a semi-fanatical fanbase who will buy most things. May as well milk it.
[/ QUOTE ]
The thing is we all know we'll buy it and they know we'll buy it but it would be nice if they humored us and stuck in free costume set even if it was just less fancy variation derived from what there sticking out as the new paid for stuff. -

Im sure it'll get a press release shortly probably a week or so before the new box hits the shelves

but dose a DPS set have a place as a stalker set all primaries should work with all secondaries IMHO if they don't there's a problem surly and yes while elec is sub par its not that sub bar that a have way decent primary should not work with it there for leading me to think that both claws and elec are sub par but are sufficient to work with other sets (claws more so than elec) but when combined are really bad.
-
[ QUOTE ]
It's certainly possible to change a powerset for one AT only.
However, saying Claws underperforms on Claws/Electric is like saying Fuel Injection underperforms on a Morris Minor.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not really because while yes */elec most definitely under performs on stalkers something i thing every one is aware of what I'm saying i that i believe claws under performs as well and because i have it paired with elec I'm noticing it more than some one who has it paired with regeneration, super reflexes or Ninja reflexes because those secondaries work better to cover up claws short comings -
only because she's wearing a mask, gloves, belt and strappy high heals :P
we just seem to be getting overly uppity because a set shows some flesh look at it this way from a front view it covers as much as a modern day swimsuit/leotard (actually it covers more than some modern day swimming suits) and i can believe that from the fron there's any kind of problem with it
from the rear ok yes its a bit risky but is it really that bad
upper body has a low cut back no big deal there surely as it well the back nothing wrong with seeing a back is there? plus look at all those start that ware those backless dresses on the red carpet.
that leaves upper legs back other wise known as the bum it covers more than anuff to be considered decent and ill refer you back to some of those red carpet back less dresses

Well... This isn't marvel now is it?
[/ QUOTE ]
no but were playing a game based pretty firmly off comics now admitedly originally it was golden age but things have to move with the times and comic books have changed since then lets consider some other big name publishers just in case marvels a once off
Top Cow comic
witchblade (hardly known for great amounts of clothing)
DC comics
Poison Ivy, Zantana, black canary
then there's Lady Death and vampirella
Seems to me people are largely over reacting. -
[ QUOTE ]
/unsigned
I can't see that the claws element could be changed for stalkers alone, without effecting the scrapper version, without totally destroying the set in itself.
Claws/Regen Scrapper - don't want it changed, mine works particularly well
Claws/SR Stalker - Don't take too much damage solo on my lvl 32 (even on mobs of 4+ on 2nd hardest setting). You just need to plan your assault carefully, making sure you use buildup, AS, placate, focus and shockwave. I do agree that the stalker set misses Spin, but then you have AS which more than compensates. Used well, eviserate can be very effective with multiple targets.
What's your secondary though TheMess? as this may put a different spin (bad pun I know) on it.
One small nitpicking point on your previous posts... I think you mean "does" rather than "dose", unless you're trying to send us all to sleep..
[/ QUOTE ]
I would imagine that claws for scrapers is listed as a separate power set from claws for stalkers within the game as the devs have in the past been able to make changes to a set without it effecting other ATs that make use of the set. so changing for stalkers only would be possible (i think)
eviscerate is now only single target (it was once a cone i believe) for stalkers so its no longer much good for multiple foes
I'm elec which i realise puts me at a disadvantage in the survival stakes but often its the length of the fight that kills me so i don't believe that elec is fully to blame for my bad performance.
and um yes i did woops -

[ QUOTE ]
Up the damage on the stalker version of attacks and adjust recharge/activation times to match, this would mean that the stalker version would be better at burst damage than the scrapper
[/ QUOTE ]
Em, Assassin strike maybe o.O
[/ QUOTE ]
Um not sure what your point is all stalker primaries have AS and they all have basically the same stats but of course damage from them differs slightly as some AS to mixed damage types which may not be as resisted as other damage types.
I was referring more to the other attacks within the set. -
[ QUOTE ]
Claws/Ninja stalker. No problems. Stabby as hell.
Some builds can play as sort of scrappers. But, get this;
They are two ATs. They play different.
/Unsigned, because it works well and is balanced as is.
[/ QUOTE ]
The fact that there to separate ATs was kinda my point
non burst good damage per activation works excellently for scrappers no arguments there
non burst good damage per activation doesn't work so well for stalkers (or my stalker atleast)
or to look at it another way you say your claws/ninja is stabby as hell but would it be better if it had one of the other primaries? -

Well... I am fairly certain 16year olds are not allowed to buy prostitutes.
[/ QUOTE ]
So magic booster pack is the same as buying a prostitiute?
mmkay.
I'll readily agree it's alittle slutty looking, but there are clothed up versions too.
[/ QUOTE ]
Point is... Some of the parts there are indeed slutty as you said. Sure there are some that are covering each and every inch of body... But not all of the parts are.
On the verge of being just too much.
Heck... Eden pattern on skin is more covering.
[/ QUOTE ]
Less than Eden.............. seriously?
[/ QUOTE ]
Eden leaves a bit more to the imagination would be more correct I guess.
Especially since it doesn't come with a matching bottom.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh come on do you live in a covenant or something its not that bad its no worse than what a 16 year old can find else where, hell I've seen people in clubs/pubs/out on the street showing as much flesh as that the only costume part that's remotely risky is the upper legs/pants but its hardly youth corrupting filth just wait till the summer rolls round and it look like perfectly acceptable day ware.
also go do a google image search for one of the following names
Emma Frost
Goblin Queen
Lady Mastermind
there all marvel characters and all appear in books that can be bought by any one regardless of age and at least one of the characters mentioned above appeared for many years in a g-string and corset as her regular costume
