I hope we get to look at the other entries. Why not let us vote on adding another 10 to the game or something? Some of these are really well done!

Quote:Well, many of them are not fun and are of horrid design. The TFs to obtain the TF Commander accolade are pretty brutal (the new Posi is the exception). The Shadow Shard stuff is awful...just awful. The Lady Grey is ok and some of the others are decent. The ITF is fun and features unique maps - I enjoy running it! Unfortunately, it is the only one done well.I have been playing the game just over six months now, and have noticed TFs do not seem to be enjoyed the way I would like to enjoy them. As a new player, I was always hesitant to start and lead a TF because I wasn't familiar with them at all. So I joined other people's teams to get experience, and found that I wasn't learning anything because the missions ended before I knew what was going on. Last night, I was trying to hop on a LGTF to get a Notice for my blaster. I've run the LGTF a few times, and it was always on a speed run. I tried for a few minutes to find a team with no luck so I fugured, what the heck, why not throw a team together and give it a shot. I sent out a call for members to join a "kill most" LGTF and I was full in seconds. I told the team I had never led a LGTF and that I had only ever done speed runs. They all seemed okay with it so off we went. Let me tell you, I have never enjoyed a task force more than I did that one. We actually saved Penny in the first mission, and rescued everyone in the third mission. We took our time killing everything in our path and actually PLAYED through the TF, and it only took one hour and twenty minutes. I feel like this is what TFs were meant to be, and wish more people would run them this way.
Am I alone on this? Can you speed TFers explain the appeal of skipping half the fun? I guess a vet player who has been there done that wouldn't want to do it again, but if you don't like the TF, why run it at all? -
Has anyone done a build for a DP/Fire/Munitions toon? I am messing around with one and would love to see a good build and/or advice.
-
Ok, so, I am sure I am not here when I say I often do not get a chance to read the storyline blurbs when taking off on a mission, tf, sf etc. So, would it be an improvement if the loading screen offered us a synopsis of the mission we are going into? A couple of sentences giving us the quick story for that mish.
You can leave the tips etc for maybe radio type missions or non-story arc stuff? I really don't know if the tips are overly useful especially now that we have those pop-up help tips that come up every now and then. The alternate would be to work the tip load screens in when the mish is easily explained.
Anyway, just a little thing I was thinking of when my team sped off into a mission and made it tough to read what was going on. -
Really? Can someone direct me to a build or post one?
-
Quote:Any chance you can post this build?Welcome to the forums!
I just finished up an Earth/Fire Dom and its a real beast! You have the best crowd control in the game (imho) paired with the best ranged damage set in the game (also imho). I took the ice epic for the shield and sleet/ice storm combo. I just watch spawns melt away while I sit in relative safety. Great combo! (imho)
-
Does anyone have a good, recent build for this combo? I just started one. Is it worth making?
-
If anyone has a decent build, could you please post or provide some help. I am looking for decent defence and damage. I don't have a ton to spend but any help would be appreciated.

I've been here 3 years now and I see a lot of people; more than I have in a long time. The multiple zones thin out the population (1 reason). I think the game is doing OK. I also don't think there are only 65K subs. I thought it was double but we are not given these numbers.
Anyway. it's too bad the game didn't do better but that is expected. It is older and not well known. GR seems to have brought in a lot of people but not a huge #. It seems the devs also do not tend to add complete different content so the game suffers from repetition.
I don't have high hopes for the next issue or two, unfortunately. Whenever we were told something BIG was coming...it didn't. Perhaps a better line of communication and cooperation with the player base may help guide the additions to the game.
Finally, I hope this game is profitable enough so it sticks around for a long time. There is so much potential here and I hope it is realized sooner rather than later. -
I have to say I always appreciate this type of info from the devs. The communication used to be awful from the devs but that is changing. I think NS here is leading that charge.
Now, I wonder if they will poll us about future content so we can guide what is being added! -
They advertise 60 costume pieces? I guess most of them did not make the video. Right now I am leaning towards not getting this pack but will hold off until I see all of the items.
I am a little surprised we don't have shark heads, monkey/gorilla pieces, snakes (including the torsos much like the snakes on the Rogue Isles) and bears. These are all fairly popular and would have been cool to see. Ah well. I am not a big 'furry' fan so I will likely pass on this pack. I really hope we can get back to more superhero stuff in the future packs (I know this pack fits but it is more niche than main stream). -

Quote:I was very happy the Stealers lost in the SB. Their QB should be in jail and the team is full of many less than likable characters. I can't day I am a Packers fan but I was one for a day.On February 4th, I appreciate:
∙ The Devs for reopening the ski chalet. Whether it was an error, an apology for the I19.5 snafu, or just out of the goodness of their hearts, It was a pleasent and unexpected surprise.
∙ The Rooney family for running one of the classiest, most well-respected organizations in all of sports. Win or lose on Sunday, I will be proud to be a Steelers fan on Monday.
∙ Sushi. Best Japanese export ever. Wait, Ming Na isn't Japanese is she?
Hmmm, short list this week. There's plenty of other stuff I appreciate, its just not coming to mind at the moment. Have a great weekend all, and...
GO STILLERS!
(as heard in a Pittsburgh accent) -
I just hope there are a lot of pieces in the pack. The last few have really sucked hard and were not worth the money.
Look at it this way, 4 booster packs are the same price as Going Rogue. Have the last four $10 boosters had the same amount of content as GR? Yeah no. A bit of a rip-off, really. So, it'll be wait and see for me on this pack as usual -
Quote:This.So.... Your question is....? What? Not really seeing a question. Seeing a few grammar errors. But no question.
I am liking the weekly target theme to generate interest in TFs/SFs. I am also very glad it covers lower level content. I may actually go play some of these now...the older TFs/SFs are just terrible and tough to stomach. This game has some good stuff but these older TFs/SFs are a bit of a black mark. I hope the revamps are done and soon. Anyway, I like this new weekly target program! -

Quote:I don't think we need an exact replica but something similar would be cool. We have kilts and that style of costume piece so a shorter version of this is not unreasonable. Having said that, I am sure we won't see it anytime soon lolNot gonna happen anytime soon. As explained by Sexy Jay, the NPC character model animation rigs that use those costume pieces are built differently than the ones used by the player models. More than likely, the only way one will get those costume pieces would be as a costume code that turned you into a generic sybil.

Quote:this!Any Task Force on a Rogue, or any Strike Force on a Vigilante. Not bein' able to use Ouroboros to get from zone-to-zone is a pain.
also, the better question might be what tf/sf do you enjoy. i quite enjoy the itf; the stf is decent; lrsf is not bad; the new posi is good and the 2 new incarnate ones are decent. the older tfs are just lame. -
Quote:Well, I thought my previous post made it clear but ok, I'll hit some highlights. Keep in mind I do realize GR is a new starter experience and not so much for vet players. This just seems like a general rant to me. What exactly did you want from GR that didn't meet your expectations? What feature did you think would make the repetition go away, and didn't come with GR?
1) Additional zones - the GR zones are nice but we don't need new zones. We have too many. My solution would have been to add maybe 2 zones for GR instead of 3 (I assume more zones will pop up to cover the 20-50 level range).
2) Leveling - It is nice to see some improved stories and missions but it is a very similar experience from 1-20. Maybe a TF would have been nice? Or something along those lines. Some of the missions have way too many ambushes. Almost every mission has the same, dull lab look to it or a re-skinning of those horrid office maps or some other map we've seen a million times over the last 7 years; it really can be quite awful.
These are 2 main areas. Various others. Not horrid but they contribute to burn out and boredom over this game. I just don't get why, after 7 years, they add very similar missions etc. to the game. We have a lot of these missions and arcs. I think it is time to go with something different; GR was a step in the right direction but a very small one. No more baby steps -
Quote:I think the same holds true for blue side. It is kinda bad. I thought after those to sides were developed they would maybe improve their thinking/design with GR. Nope. Repetition all over again. Not a very good 'expansion' pack really. I would prefer quality over quantity.Welcome to City of Villains. People have been making the exact same complaints every day about redside since the day it launched 4 years ago.
I also don't make tons of alts but have sent a few through Prae. It isn't fun anymore. I realize the objective for the company is to make max $ so they drew in a new player group. They couldn't do much for the vets due to limited resources, I'm sure. I think they did a decent job at getting more players etc but it really is the same old, same old.
Resources are one road block for getting a ton of stuff out but I also think a lot of the stuff being added is questionable (day jobs, day costumes, too many resources on AE - all fine but other things would have been better).
Sadly, I can't see anything too different or innovative coming out for this game. I base this on the track record where it's more of the same old but in a slightly different wrapper. I do like this game but it is coming to that time where it might be time to move on. -
I will bid my usual. 400 quatloos. Take it or leave it.
-
They call virtue the RP server but the RP has decreased lately. I don't RP so I kinda don't mind that. Anyway, it is active and has a more friendly crowd than Freedom. I think the attitude is also a bit more mature on Virtue than Freedom.
Also, try and join global channels so you can easily find teams. Many people post on there when looking to team up etc. -
Praetoria has become a bit of a grind, that's for sure. The mission map repetition is killer and it seems a lot of players aren't too into being there. It might help if non-Praetorians could access missions when entering the world. Also maybe something similar to a TF.
I guess Prae is full of missions - honestly, they are written a bit better but most of them look the same. To me, the visuals outweigh the story when playing games. So, I kinda agree with the OP to a lesser extent - Prae is not as fun especially if you make a lot of alts. -
Quote:Welcome to CoX. Also often known as City of Repetition. This game constantly uses the same maps on missions. It has driven me to quit a few times but I come back. Anyway, it is a good game but could be much better; your gripe about maps is a common one. I thought after nearly 7 years there would be much more variety to the mission maps. Before I dive too far into the subject matter, let me preface--
I'm in my second month of the game (after trial) and I must say that COH/COV is the best game I have played in as long as I remember, so I don't mean to be taking a slight at developers/community/etc. That being said, I must get this out of my system...
I can't even tell you how many times I've been playing a mission, defeated all of the enemies in the map, and been completely lost looking for a glowie to click for way too long, because all tunnels/hallways/rooms in every map look EXACTLY the same. It gets to the point where I can't tell if I'm at the end of a map, or if I'm back where I started.
It's very frustrating, because I feel like I'm wasting time roaming around over and over, just to click on something. Perhaps there should be radars in mission maps that lead you towards glowies, because quite honestly I am paying money by the month to play this game.
If every section of the mission maps are going to resemble the last section, I will end up wasting time over something totally frivolous when I could be working on leveling up elsewhere.
I don't plan on ending game play because of it, because I'm far too absorbed already. This is my only qualm, and it doesn't detract from how wonderful the game is overall.. Just had to get this out of my system.
