  1. My beef with the tailor/creation screen is that it doesn't use white light and has a dark background (as a default, anyway). Speaking for myself, I VASTLY prefer screenshots taken, say, out in Atlas Plaza during the day. Nice, clean light means details aren't lost in the dark and colors actually appear correctly.
  2. They should. And if all else fails, you can come post an update here so it'll definitely show up.

It wins a lot of contests. I think it's the chest detail that nobody uses.

It's one of my favorite chest details, I just never manage to use it on a character that I stick with!

The colors compliment each other very well, it's strong and maybe even a bit iconic - it's a very slick design.

Now I just need some free time so I can do freebies! ARGH.
  4. Well, I'm obviously biased when it comes to suggestions.

On a more serious, note, though - there is an incomplete list of artists here who accept commissions here on the City of Artists DA page. You can find examples of every style imaginable on that list, and most folks' prices are pretty reasonable.

Is there a particular sort of art style you're looking for? I'd be happy to give you some recommendations.
  5. While Dart wasn't in the story, I may have to draw him in the setting anyway.

Or, well, a Dart. The original Dart (YAY LEGACY HERO) was circa WWII... and I have a design fluttering into my brainmeats! *scrambles for sketchbook*

    WATCH THIS SPACE!
  6. Ooh, that's a really sharp costume you've got there!

    Super Hero Op-Ed

Man, nobody appreciates a good in-universe op-ed column anymore.

Nicely done, and entertainingly so. I'd like to see more like it. Being reminded that Paragon isn't the only city on Earth is always a good thing.
  8. Hey boss!

I'd love to see this recent piece of The Crimson Dart that I did make it into the Scoop. If you want a version without the name and URL at the bottom, just ask!
  9. Now you're just trying to flatter me.
  10. Glad to be back!

And yes, Warface, it's work-safe. Closest I'll ever come to posting NWS stuff is limited to life drawing.
  11. 'nother new one today!

My MA/SR Scrapper is illegally fun to draw.

You can see the original sketches for this, as well as a couple other things, over in my Scraps page.
  12. HI PLAAAAS. *waves like a dork*

I love Elseworlds. This is a really fun concept, and I hope you continue to run with it - and maybe some other folks decide to do the same. I love the setting and the tone - you captured a pretty "golden age" vibe, particularly with the dialog. WELL PLAYED.

The writing is technically pretty good, though it feels a little disjointed and hard to track in some places - dialogue without the speakers being identified, mostly -and there are some minor grammatical snafus, but nothing another pass-over from an editor couldn't fix. Editing my own work is HARD - I read everything as I intended it to be, not as it is - so it's absolutely forgivable.
  13. Happy birthday, Kilo!

    (And nice sketch, Alex!)
  14. Thanks and thanks!

I'm hoping I can do at least one piece a day, whether it's a full color piece or just a sketch. Hopefully, inspiration won't run out on me.

Having some time to get back into the actual game might be cool, though.
  15. Thanks!

Su's definitely around - both on the boards, and on Virtue. We've been storming the cas--I mean, raiding the mothership in the RWZ pretty often since we got back. It's more fun than I'd expected!

Right now, though, Su's MIA for a few days for that mysterious test. Ooooweeeeeoooooo.
  16. Today was insane - unexpectedly had to take my mom to the doctor since she couldn't drive herself (silly meds), so my day didn't really get started 'til 5pm! I blasted through my classwork and then did this piece in about 30-40mins.

    This is Su-Lin.

I don't draw Su's characters nearly often enough, which is a shame. Maybe this will have the side effect of helping him do well on the test he's currently taking. Success would mean Very Good Things for us. Please cross your fingers for him!

Now, to go put up a dA journal entry with all of my commission information. EXCELSIOR.

Mostly in regards to coloring pictures . I figured id ask and get directed towards the ones my fellow art folks have already looked over and liked as opposed to grabbing a random one in a google search .

Layers are your friends. So is the undo button.

I can't think of any decent tutorials offhand (that haven't been linked already), but you're always welcome to bother me over PMs if you want.

If you're brand! shiny! new! to the use of a tablet, though, I HIGHLY recommend you use these exercises to get your hand used to using the tablet and become more precise with it. Trust me - you'll need it.
  18. Hooray tablets!

There should be oodles and oodles of Photoshop tutorials available online. What in particular are you wanting to learn about?
  19. PATRICK WARBURTON! Aaahahahaha I hadn't even thought of that. XD

Dart's an Englishman, but surely Brock Samson can pretend. Just for me.
  20. Thanks, Warface. Those two pieces were a LOT of fun to do - which makes me happy, because I was in a rut for a long time where art wasn't fun anymore. WHEW.

ALSO! Just signed myself up as a Deviant. Come welcome me to the neighborhood, gang!
  21. Some more new stuff's gone up today - three CoH pieces amongst them. I'm extremely proud of the two new shots of Dart ( here and here ) and finally feel like I'm making a little bit of progress towards my dream of Not Sucking.

BONUS MST3K SKETCH ORDER NOW! You know you want me, baby!
  22. I feel lurved!

    I missed you guys, too.
