sounds awesome! Unfortunately it does appear more and more that Going Rogue isn't coming until next year, bummer that.

It's just the end of June now. Six months left in the year, they've been working on this for how long now? Long enough to get some preliminary screenshots, mention that I16 is not the same as Going Rogue and some of the plans involved...

Other than chronic pessimism, I see nothing to say it's *not* going to be sometime this year. Late this year? I'd believe that, sure.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This issue has been cooking since Issue 6 at the latest.

I expect to see it fall or Winter.

Hey I hope you two are right, I'm hoping for a holiday release, just my glowing optimism has dimmed somewhat from recent statements. Maybe I'm just reading to much into things.

[/ QUOTE ]Going Rogue was definitely not in the making I6 or before. CoV wasn't even out of the door for them to think about side switching. I bet they mulled over the idea about it these past few years, but I bet the expansion itself didn't really start to form until about a year ago at most. I doubt we will see it this year and I'm not very optimistic of it even coming out by the second quarter of next year.

You have to realize, each herocon "no comment" was met with a chuckle and the comment. Even the Going Rogue comment was met with Positron turning to look at the rest of the dev team, leaning into his mic and saying, "no comment."

It's not a maliscious "no comment." It's more of a humorous one because they don't want to spoil the surprise.

And you think people are unjustified in getting paranoid about CO? Well, considering that the company that originally created CoH is now in the process of creating a competing game, promised everything that CoH players wanted in this game, then had their own Dev. team try to recruit players away from CoH by coming to these forums and PM'ing people here and in game... you think that everything is hunky dorey in gamesville?

Products that have competition are more beneficial for... dun dun dun.. the PLAYERS!

So, if you think that it's a stupid reason to say no comment... well, you create a product, I'll make the same thing and I'll offer the consumers the stuff that you say can't be done to your product. Even if I can't offer what I promise, it still makes news because I can claim that I can out-do your product.

[/ QUOTE ]What's to stop the rival company to copy it after it has been announced at a later date? The CoH Vault is a good example of where a "no comment" would have worked.
  3. [ QUOTE ]
For all the complainers about the "lack of information" in the interview:

Every question posed to Positron at herocon '08 that he responded "no comment" to has become (or is in the process of becoming) reality.

CoH for Mac, Going Rogue, Color Customization, etc.

Chances are that the "no comments" are a way of not giving the competition the heads up on what's planned. It's now a competitive market. No sense in giving away all your secrets just to have someone else rush it into a competing game.

Also, City of Villains was announced in 2004... a year before it became a reality. Going Rogue should be no different. It's their way of saying, "We're finally able to do what you wanted... just stick around a bit longer."

[/ QUOTE ]That's a stupid reason. CoX people are getting paranoid by CO. The reason why anyone in a game business says "no comment" is because it is too far off to confirm and it may change.
  4. [ QUOTE ]
I don't see why everyone's complaining about the lack of information. Why would you want more now, seeing that Going Rogue won't be released for a long time? If we had all the information, it would seem like an even longer wait before it comes out.

Right now, I'm content with the fact that I'm going to be able to bring my Dom over to heroes at some point.

[/ QUOTE ]Less info means the less we care.
  5. Finally, more info. The key to getting more people isn't by withholding info on new ventures.
  6. It's their world, we just play in it.

What's the rating of that story where the wolf dresses up like a woman to chat with little girls?

    [/ QUOTE ]
The same rating as those episodes of Looney Tunes where Bugs crossdresses to fool Elmer Fudd.

[/ QUOTE ]What about the one where the cigar explodes and.....well.. demeans an entire point in history.

Why don't we just make a new set called Samus Aran.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Fix't for more awesome.

[/ QUOTE ]Well, the whole bubble beam got me thinking "what's next? Cutman's power?" Mega Man powers have been steadily decreasing from each new game.

    <QR>

This might be the dumbest thread I have ever read.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I would say sry for actually having morals and values but i would be lying. But if you want you kids to cross dress whither in game or in Rl thats not my call. I for one dont want it.

Whats wrong with allowing gender bending to apply to all character slots and not just one? There would be no issue at that point

[/ QUOTE ]Yes, because this game is so influential. Tomorrow, I plan to put on my mini skirt, tighten up my thigh boots, put on a little rouge, cause guys like that, then I'm going to fly and destroy evil invading aliens with my laser beam eyes and my zappy gun.

    It's a game, lighten up.
  10. Also, guys play girl characters and girls play guy characters all the time.

Final Fight had a gender bent character, yet still had a T-rating.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Dare I mention Flea from Chrono Trigger? Which funnily enough was/is rated E.

[/ QUOTE ]Never played it. How about Bridget from Guilty Gear?
  12. Final Fight had a gender bent character, yet still had a T-rating.
  13. What's bigger, Kuwait or Rhode Island?
  14. Why don't we just make a new set called Mega Man.
  15. Yeah, cause people of different beliefs always will suffer a "final solution".
  16. If the spy archetype (if we are getting it) let's me play as Solid Snake, James Bond, or Sam Fisher, then bring it on.

And the Award for Best Quote To Take Out Of Context This Week is.......

Same with ED, I never got mad because it never messed with the way I play.

It's =my= game. People say so all the time.

Girlfriend: Off to play your game now?

Friend: What'd you do in your game last night?

Co-worker: You're always talking about your game when I'm trying to work!

Boss: You wouldn't be in here if you did your work and didn't talk about your game all day.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    You win the thread.

[/ QUOTE ]This is my country. People over the pond ask me when I'm going back to my country. In =my= country, I get arrested for beating a man with a pool cue until he has detached retinas. This is =my= country, yet higher ups still decided what is what.

Also, when will we get the pool cue powerset?
  19. His vision never bothered me because I was too busy playing the game. Same with ED, I never got mad because it never messed with the way I play. I think the forums is what blows things out of proportions.

anyone remeber jack emmert and how people disliked him because he made the game into his vision rather then giving players what they wanted?

    [/ QUOTE ]
For the most part, I think Jack's problem wasn't in the "vision" but in the delivery of information about the "vision". Jack isn't really much of a people person.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    No, the vision really sucked.

[/ QUOTE ]Which is why you kept playing.
  21. It's all opinion. Lion, saying everyone loves the AE is just as bad as Talen saying that everyone hates it.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
Yeah, it's much easier to ignore it when I say something that you can't refute. I mean, silly me, thinking that my reaction to things was mine to dictate. I should wait on the polls to tell me what I think before I form my opinions.

[/ QUOTE ]Sadly, that is how the CoX community works. Like people never openly called Jack out, but everyone blamed all the game's troubles on him. Even new people who have just joined up are hating him cause everyone else is.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
Ms. Liberty because she puts up with all that stuff in Atlas Park without killing anyone. That makes her a true hero.

[/ QUOTE ]If putting up with morons and not attacking any one is heroism, then I'm [censored] Superman.

    [ QUOTE ]
None of these are in my opinion good things, because the ease of use encourages everyone to do it, rather than providing the barrier for entry that I'd like. If it was actually challenging to make an arc, I would hope that most of the terrible arcs wouldn't be there.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So it's poorly implemented because it's...... easy to use?

[/ QUOTE ] because it encourages mediocrity.
