Aside from the night recently when several servers all went down, I've had 1 instance of the game crashing with a lockup, and maybe five disconnects in the past year or more.

Of those five disconnects, two were due to me losing all internet connectivity.

None of the disconnects have been during a Mothership Raid, an Invasion event of any kind (Zombies, Rikti, Praetorians, whatever) or during a Hami raid.

I'd suspect my ISP being the problem in two of the other disconnects more than the game. One disconnect I know that several people reported being disconnected when I got back in the game although several others had no problems at all.

I don't see the disconnect issues you say the game is suffering from. I don't see reports from other players in the global channels I frequent talking about disconnects.

The closest I come to seeing ingame reports is a few people at one of the Mothership raids this past Sunday were constantly asking for reinvites due to disconnects. I'd suspect those were more due to lower spec systems (from their own comments) since it was so few people in a full zone with massive graphical activity that occurs on ship raids.

A follow-up question on this that may or may not be relevant.

On a Vigilante that is in an SG will it earn Prestige in Hero and Co-Op zones only or in any zone?

Similarly, on a Rogue that is in an SG will it earn Prestige in Villain and Co-Op zones only or in any zone?

Basically trying to find out what limitations, if any, there are for the fence-straddlers for earning Prestige.

Not that I plan to switch any of my characters, but the information is always good to know in case it comes up in the future.
  3. In the area where the Manticore automatron is there is an entrance that takes you to where the other Automatron and safe are.

It's been a while since I ran that arc, but looking at it from where you enter the map you would go just past the platform where Manticore automatron is located to get to the entrance.

Here's the link to the ParagonWiki entry for that mission. It notes that the entrance is hard to find and gives directions.

I could go on, but you get the gist.

And these are just DC characters.

Obviously, superhero comics have nothing to do with magic.

  5. Yes, VIP accounts can hide both the Paragon Market icon and the Paragon Rewards icon.

Non-VIP accounts do not have those options.
  6. I wouldn't pay to be able to have more pets out.

I do think they should change the coding to allow 1 combat pet and 1 non-combat pet at the same time.

I asked at the first Pummit if they would reconsider making that change after seeing how the new limit affected server load and they said they would be willing to look at it.

I plan to ask at the upcoming Pummit if they did look at how server load was affected and if they have actually reconsidered allowing one combat and one non-combat pet out at the same time.

The "math" of this seems pretty clear to me. *shrugs*
I recall seeing several servers doing daily Hami raids even after the changes in I9, long after the reduction of the % values.

That still doesn't make the statement "nobody does Hami raids anymore" true.

The math still seems pretty clear.

I can't verify that statement since I don't play on other servers.

However, it is likely to be much more accurate than the false statement that "nobody does Hami raids anymore".

Just to see what I'd get, using Firefox 11 I get the following message when I click that link.

    Quote:

Uh-oh, can't login to the database!
Of course, I don't have a Mac but I'm sure the message isn't OS dependent.

I could elaborate on it, but since it doesn't work with anything after Firefox 3.6.xx it's getting a bit useless.

FFvB is a vBulletin management tool for Firefox. It has several nice features such as a full ignore function (doesn't even show the person has posted, doesn't show their post if they are quoted, etc.), thread ignore functions, highlight users, ignore avatar (instead of having to block all from a specific site, all avatars, etc), ignore signatures (similar to ignore avatar reasons), highlight threads, keyword searches, and more.

Unfortunately, it is no longer being updated and doesn't work with FF 4.x or higher. and I can no longer find a place to download the extension.

EDIT: There is a greasemonkey script I found that I'm going to try out. If it works for the ignore function, I'll post about it here. If it doesn't work, I won't comment on it.

Since original Beta. Since Headstart. Since release of the game.

Toggles turn off when you are logged off for longer than 15 minutes.

With the patch that is currently on the Test server, that will no longer be happening. The game will remember your toggle state so that when you log back in, even if it is after 15 minutes, your toggles will still be active.

That would explain why the fight with Cole is shorter.

Now, all of the telcos and cable companies are struggling under the burden of very old equipment that cannot adequately handle the bandwidth being forced upon them; meanwhile, Verizon is set for the foreseeable future, at least until ultra high speed wireless connectivity is almost universally available. (Which, incidentally, is another area in which Verizon has a clear lead.)
Unfortunately Tony, Verizon isn't pouring any investment into their infrastructure where I live. They have apparently written this area off as not being something they are going to upgrade. Phone lines in extremely poor condition, old equipment, and only dial-up service available from them in this area.

The district leases T1 lines from them for communication to 2 of our out of town campuses and those lines lose timing and drop connections if the wind blows wrong or someone looks at them sideways. We can't get them to replace the lines, but they sure want to charge us a premium price for the lines anyway. If we had any alternatives for communications to those campuses we'd jump at it.

I purposely don't name the company I used to work for and it is for a variety of reasons. The company treated me very good, I liked the people I worked with and left on really good terms with them.

I don't name the companies they made DSL equipment for since it would make it too easy to identify the company I worked for.

I haven't put anyone on it since, but I can mentally ignore their posts or just gloss over them if I see them.

I do have an add-on for Firefox that made it much easier to ignore people in that I didn't even see that they posted and it removed their text if people quoted them. Unfortunately, it doesn't work with anything past 3.6.xx so I've held off updating Firefox here at home.

It may be time to go ahead and upgrade and forget about FFvB not being compatible.

EDIT: Similar to what Agent White said, 2 of those that made my forum ignore list in the past were extremely obnoxious. Four were put on it due to getting rude and needlessly abusive to posters trying to help them in the Technical Issue Bugs forum section. Most things, I just skip reading their posts.
  17. No clue. Google found it.

As a side note, the current patch on the Test Server has a fix for the coolant.

Seeing so many vendetta posts of late, as well as the outright hostility shown by some posters towards seemingly everyone and everything, I'm finding that I Ignore people on the forums quite a bit more than I used to.

Surprisingly, my ingame gignore list is still at 2. Of course, this was after having a nearly full list and starting over and giving people a second chance to highly offend me enough to earn their way onto that list.

One was convicted of killing her two sons, then putting them in a car and staging a crash into a river to make it look like accidental deaths.

Another is a more recent event with a mother charged with unlawful neglect after her child was taken to an emergency room (someone else called 911 when the mother didn't take them to get treatment for a fever). When the child's diaper was removed in the ER, maggots fell out of it. Also, tests of the blood and urine of the child came back positive for traces of marijuana.

The last one is another recent event of a teenaged mother intentionally stuffing a cotton ball sized object (part of a stuffed toy) down her child's throat. The incident was caught on video surveillance placed in the room to try to find the cause of some unexplained incidents since the child had a "history of life-threatening episodes".

I think the first one made international news as well as national news.

    Aarrrrrgh!

I wish these companies would quit calling themselves Wireless DSL. They are not DSL. It's simply a high-speed wireless connection.

DSL means Digital Subscriber Line (formerly Digital Subscriber Loop) and it's a technology that transmits digital data over the wires of a local telephone network.

It requires phone lines to work. It isn't a wireless technology.

    /rant off

Yes, I know what I speak of. I used to do tech support for [redacted], a company that made a DSL modem for [redacted], a few models of DSL Gateways for [redacted], a few models of DSL Gateways that were used by [redacted] (I was part of the European support team working the overnight shift), and was testing a DSL Gateway for [redacted] when I left the company to move back to Texas and wound up providing [redacted] with a few different DSL Gateways since. They also made various wireless products and modems,

As for the wireless providers, you have to be careful with what they offer and how their equipment is configured. The ISP I use has more subscribers than the existing equipment can fully handle causing speed issues for all users. They also restrict some of the traffic on the network (mostly diagnostics that would help me troubleshoot issues such as Ping, Tracert, and similar) and have switched to a Private IP scheme so that I can't directly connect from elsewhere using Remote Desktop.

Also, the signals we get aren't very stable at all as well as being only able to get a 1.5 Mbps connection. While rain has little to no affect on the signal, wind very much will affect it as it can shake the antenna at my house or the ISP's antenna on the water tower that I connect to. I also get intermittent signal loss when the trees have leaves on them as the slightest breeze seems to wave them between my antenna and the water tower.

A few people I know tried to upgrade to a faster connection, but they refuse to offer it here (although they do elsewhere) since their equipment is already overloaded.

In other words, be careful with any wireless ISP. Check with several people in the area that use them, especially if you can find any computer techs or gamers that use them.

If I had my choice, I'd go with FIOS. Not available here even though Verizon is my phone company.

Second choice would be Cable. Not available here since the cable company has decided they don't want to expand their coverage area any more (told this by two employees that keep pushing for increased coverage areas) and would rather focus on new technologies they can offer existing customers.

Third choice would be DSL. Not available here even though 3 different GTE technicians told me it would be rolling out here one summer but then merger/buyout/whatever happened when it became part of Verizon and Verizon decided not to roll that out here. This was a few years before they began field testing FIOS (a friend worked for Verizon on the D/FW field test for FIOS in 2004). He's still irritated that they haven't rolled out FIOS here even though he hasn't lived here since the late 80's or early 90's.

    Wireless ISP would be fourth.

Cellular ISP and Satellite ISP would be tied for last.

Dial-up is no longer a consideration for me at all.

As far as billing services if your account expires on that day exactly (which I doubt it does) your card would likely be billed weather before or after said window, and your account will likely be billed before or after the maintenance window if you use time cards simply buy one and apply before said date. if you need switch which card you use do it before the window like the day before.

It is a few hours man, not the end of the world real or digital.

It's pretty easy to tell in this case if you bother to read the entire post. If you just read part of it and get all in a hurry to make a response and don't finish reading, you fail at reading comprehension.

Since you obviously missed it the first time, I'll copy the parts of the post you apparently didn't bother to read the first time.

I get almost as much enjoyment playing that character as I do most of the characters on my main account (except for Texas Justice of course, I always enjoy playing TJ more than others).
