EX: Player A has their slider at +1/x3 and Player B has their slider at +4/x8. Both go to the same area in the Open world.

Which one does the code choose to apply for the spawn size?

Either way it would spawn many posts on the forums about how broken the code is because it didn't spawn at that particular players settings.

That's not new. Several of us took a trip to Pier 39 in San Francisco after the second HeroCon. There are several markers both on elevated stands or flush with the walkway.

We had several photo ops for "getting our history badges" or "getting our exploration badges" and pictures were posted at the time.

I still do that at events and did it at the Pummit this past weekend.
  3. In some cases, such as Lady Jane, just don't kill the Mobs guarding the hostage.

Instead, clear the rest of the map, or most of it at least, and then go back and rescue the hostage.

    Uh..huh...

Considering the (relatively) low end hardware I work with (especially power supplies and graphics cards) running CoH on them is either as a stress test for the hardware or for me.

I have enough staff members (Teachers and Administrators) giving me a stress test daily.

Also, one of the guys I work with doesn't believe in just replacing parts. He's repaired several of our video cards, power supplies and motherboards rather than just replacing them. Since much of it involved replacing capacitors, it's mostly a tedious job of desoldering the old caps and resoldering the new caps. For the video cards and motherboards he's sometimes reflowing the solder for the chips on the board as well.

Using CoH as a stress test has shown him a few flaws in his repairs before we put those parts back out on the campuses.

Speaking of under, I missed seeing you this past weekend at the Pummit.

I was looking forward to you being there and getting a chance to see you again.

    I was disappoint.

One of the young* ladies I work with in our Technology Department proposed this same thing to our Technology Director as a good teamwork opportunity.

Our secretary agreed as did a few of the other employees in the department, one just for the opportunity to leave campus early.

Our Technology Director, while looking forward to seeing the movie this weekend multiple times, denied the request.

I'm one of the few geeky ones in the department. Most of them view my CoH trips and activities as just "TJ being weird".

*young meaning younger than me (that's most of the department)

Quite true. Not only can perspectives change, but also changes to the game, the playerbase or other factors can be items that might cause people to re-consider previous thought processes.

For example, new tech or new items being added to the market could cause people to re-examine their thoughts on how certain systems are working. Based on that they may decide that things that they were previously happy with the way they worked could be improved upon by making modifications.

EDIT: As far as the "don't make decisions in a vacuum" statement, I don't think I've ever thought that the Paragon Studios team did that. There are too many diverse personalities among the staff for them all to be not having different ideas and perspectives when it comes to decision making.

sort of a Perspectives in Paragon Matter situation.

I never heard any names mentioned either. I didn't make any assumptions that the people I named were the ones responsible.

I pulled the names of long-time employees that were likely around at the time the exclusivity statements were made. Since it was mentioned that as long as some of those people were around it wouldn't lose the exclusivity, I just named "some" of the people that were possibly discussed simply due to them having been employed there during that time. After all, you gotta get 'em all or there still might be one you don't know about to muck it up.

It's unlikely that they'd get rid of any of the ones I named either.

After all, we now know that the reward for 10 Years working on/with the game is being promoted to Producer/Prime Minister of Paragon.

That can only mean that those with almost that much time must be marking their calendar's for their promotion dates.
  9. Well, as UberGuy and several others know, I wasn't on a league or a team when I got the badge.

Then again, UberGuy has seen me solo Hamidon.

The reply, from my perspective, wasn't so much as percentage of whether or not they'd like to make it available, but rather that while some would like to offer it to everyone some things were said in the past that are keeping it exclusive.

At least as long as there are people still working there that remember what was said about it being exclusive.

That was what I took away from the exchange at least. But then again, I could have misinterpreted the meaning based on my own perceptions.

Of course, I know this means they'd have to get rid of Positron and WarWitch at the very least and possibly some others (Crosscheck? Giant Monster? TheDarkWatcher? Ghost Falcon? Maybe others?).

I don't think the idea of getting rid of those people so they can change plans would go over very well.

    Cape of the Four Winds.

And considering things said at the Pummit this past weekend, I think seeing this show up may be a glitch unless they are showing all costume pieces available even if they require an unlock of some kind.

You enter a zone similar to Oro (a loading zone basically) and are able to enter other realities (servers) through portals in that zone. After entering, you're put into a similar zone on the other server from which you can roam free and do whatever.

Hell, you can even use the argument that the Batallion is so strong that you need the might of multiple realities to combat the threat.

On a more selfish note, this would make Hami raiding quite fun for me since they raid on various servers and I could basically attend them all with the same toons
Sort of a Crisis in Infinite Paragon Cities and Crisis in Infinite Rogue Ilses type of thing?

Gee. I wonder why none of the comic book companies have ever tried something like that.

The old JLA/JSA team-ups using the Crisis on Y format were some of my favorites growing up.

I would posit that Hit Streak making this post (and the accompanying Announcement post) on April 24th and then Zwankeedoodledandy making his reminder post yesterday (the one you quoted) ARE ample warning.

What are they supposed to do? Knock on every player's door and tell them personally? With possibly needing to come back to that person's residence because they weren't there the first time?

  14. The GTS 250 is listed on the nVidia site as needing a 450W power supply as the minimum.

If the Dell has only a 305W power supply that could be the cause of the problems.

CoH stresses hardware more than any other game I've played in years.

I use it to stress test computers after repairing them. I got that idea from houtex.

Running all of that ... stuff ... in the background is only adding to the load.
  15. Try changing it to Windowed Mode temporarily. That will give you the top border of the window so you can drag and center it if needed. Make sure the Window is Maximized.

If all is working well running it in Windowed Mode, then try setting it back to Full Screen and see if it goes back to being off-centered.
  16. A friend won't charge you much for assembling a computer.

A good friend won't charge you anything.

A true friend won't charge you anything and will instead stand there with you and talk you through assembling it yourself so that you know what to do the next time.
  17. There have been a few badges lately that have not had the Badge Earned message show up on screen when they are awarded.

I got the badge and I don't remember seeing the popup about it. It does show in my Most Recent badge list however (or however it's worded).

This seems to be another one.
  19. I don't see this thread ending very well.
  20. It seems Rangle had a plot aimed specifically at me for the Pummit.

He brought along a beautiful redhead to keep me from noticing any plots he was working on.

It was a pleasure meeting you and Impish Kat. We'll have to get together again sometime.
  21. Forbin, will you PM me the link to that other thread? I need a few more laughs.

    Thanks.
