But, you all disagree, and you're allowed to.

But I still make the suggestion. There is no VALID reason not to. Not valid to me, anyway.
The Devs consider the story line to be a VALID reason whether you do or not.

You may disagree, and you are allowed to, but the Devs make the final decisions.

This exact weapon is the signature of a character from Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones, for reference. It's not just an anime trope.
No, I said I'd never seen a game with one and said I thought it sounded ridiculous.

I never said I don't get it. I get it. It still sounds ridiculous to me. The closest I came to what you might perceive as "not getting it" was questioning what was meant by a specific term used, a term I'd never heard or seen before. Surely you've run across unusual words used by people that you had never heard of.

You find plenty of things in this game that don't suit your particular thoughts about how they should be.

Why do you have so much difficulty accepting statements from others when they have problems with something that doesn't suit how they think the game should be?

And why are you suddenly bringing anime into the conversation when I've never mentioned it? The way you bring it us you act as if that is part of why I don't like the idea.

  6. Prestige Sprints can be enhanced, just the same as Sprint.

There are other powers that cannot be enhanced such as Ninja Run, Walk, Hover Board, Team Transport, and more.

Sorry if this sounds harsh, but If you are unwilling to do these simple things and prefer to whine and mope about how you can't play, then there's not much else that can be done for you.
Thanks StarGeek. I gave up on this one when it became evident that they weren't going to follow the links and post anything useful for helping troubleshoot the problem.

And that last bit is what they were after.
And that last bit is what some people, even some quite educated and/or computer literate people, have done.

That's okay though. It keeps me employed as well as having plenty of side jobs outside of my full-time job.
  9. Just to make sure we are on the same page.

    1. You downloaded CoH Helper to your computer and then right-clicked on it and selected Run as Administrator, correct?

    2. Once the CoH Helper window opened you clicked Forum Output and waited for it to finish running and the little critter to stop jumping around, correct?

    3. Once the critter stopped hopping around and CoH Helper had finished running, you went to Word and used the Paste option on the Home tab to paste the contents of the clipboard into Word, correct?

    4. Nothing happened when you clicked Paste, correct?
  10. The clipboard is built into Windows. When you click the Forum Output button it runs it's processes and then puts the results on the Windows clipboard.

At that point in time, you can open Notepad and Paste the clipboard contents. It will show the results there. You can also Paste it into a forum post.

The only way I know of for you to see the Clipboard contents (there is likely an app that will do it but that I haven't found) is to Paste into a text editor of some type or a forum post.

EDIT: The simplest ways to Paste the clipboard contents is (in a text editor) to use the Edit > Paste command from the toolbar or the Paste button if it has one, right-click in the document or forum post editing window and select Paste or click in the document or forum post editing window and use the CTRL-V key combination.

Something these people have been really, incredibly bad at for years now. (they can't even get primary and secondary colors right sometimes anymore, or even the word "long"!?!?!) I expect people to take pride in their work, meaning to put out work that is worth being proud of, not being proud of trash, but that seems to be the way all gaming companies are going these days. Guess that's what happens in a culture that can bribe their way into getting good reviews on gaming sites (and no I am not saying this company does buy reviews, but others have, and even others have even posed as customers to give consumer reviews). I don't really care about the item, it's the principal, that's what I care about, something so many people don't have any more...

My suggestion would be that if you are going to put something in quotes to signify that it is what someone said, that you get the wording right.

Let's see what Moderator 19 actually said shall we? (Yes, I know Chad pointed it out previously when you first claimed they said Account Wide, but you apparently ignored that).

Gee, he said "Account based", not "Account Wide Item". There is a difference there. What is that difference? Being Account based means that it is tied to the Account that makes the purchase, not the Character that makes the purchase. In other words, you can "buy" it in the store using any character, but it can be claimed from the Character Items tab of email by any character on that account. As Chad noted, possibly not the best choice of wording, but not a fully incorrect wording.

Now, if he'd said that you claimed the items from your Account Items tab, then I'd say you have a point. But that's not what Moderator 19 said is it?

And seriously, Moderator 19 is pretty new to the game and some of the terminology. We have long-time employees that occasionally use the wrong word or phrase for something. It's not worth writing a wall of text over.

Some of my favorite comments by the Devs and OCR Team have been when someone has referred to Devices as Gadgets or used another internal name for something that we weren't familiar with.

Maybe a use for the costume items and stuff they were not able to sell well, like the single hats and such. But, no, an IO would NOT be an account wide item, so no, I would not want that either. (personally I would be much happier if they would just give me the things I pay for, like the tokens, points, and token badges we were supposed to be getting, on time if at all, maybe if they spent more time making the game work right instead of advertising gimmicks they would be making more money... but no, it's all about more garbage for the market, as if more trash would make it better).

I am not complaining about the item itself, but the wording they used to get us to look at said item. I expected a consumable thing I didn't want and wouldn't bother to get, until they told me it was an "account wide item", then I expected something useful, but I will no longer do that, and probably never look at it again. There is no point to wasting the time it takes to load the slow store if they are going to be so blatantly misleading. Once bitten and all that.
They didn't say it was an "account wide item", they said "account based". We've been over this already, but you likely ignored it as you did when Chad pointed it out earlier in the thread after you used the wrong words the first time.

I expect people to have a work ethic, and want to do what they do better than anyone else (even if you don't like what you are doing)! Don't promise (or imply to) me one thing, and then give me something else. Most normal people are offended when they are lied to, or they used to be, I really don't know what is happening to us as a people that we accept such shoddy business practices. And work ethics seem dead in this country anymore. One would assume in a nation that has so few job openings, and so many people looking for work, that people would want to make sure they are the best they can be to keep their jobs and not be replaced by someone willing to work harder for less money, but I guess not enough people value learning enough to qualify any more. It's a really sad world we live in, and it gets dumber every year.
They didn't lie to us. You misinterpreted the words that were used and are trying to be righteously indignant because of your misinterpretation (and misquoting) of what was written.

They didn't promise or imply one thing and then deliver something else.

Your misinterpretation of what they said isn't proof of them breaking promises or lying.

    Read A Book!
OK. So you resort to insulting the players? Classy move.

You misunderstand something someone says (and continually misquote what they said) and that makes the rest of us sheep that let the company lie to us? Well, first they'd have had to lie to us. They didn't.

Why not just admit that you misinterpreted (and misquoted) Moderator 19 and move on?

Oh right, you'd have to admit you made a mistake. And we all know you never make mistakes.

Now Big Ben is often used, by extension, to refer to the clock, the tower and the bell collectively, although the nickname is not universally accepted as referring to the clock and tower.

  15. Turn Ambient Occlusion to OFF. Completely OFF. No Advanced Occlusion, nothing.

AO puts a big load on a system and I've seen reports of some really strange behavior that was resolved by turning it OFF.

I'd also suggest turning World Detail Level to High, Water Quality to High and Bloom to OFF.

And as Terra Shock suggests, try an older driver. Of course, be sure to use proper clean video driver installation steps of Uninstall, reboot to Safe Mode and run Driver Sweeper, reboot to normal mode and install older drivers.
  16. When you click Continue after getting that message in CoH Helper, are you sure nothing happens?

Have you tried to paste the contents of the clipboard into Notepad or a forum post after that happens?

There is no message saying that anything happened, it just runs and puts the data on the clipboard.
  17. No, they aren't ranged.

As for Scrappers, they already have Broadsword, Katana, Dual Blades, Staff Fighting, Claws, Battle Axe, War Mace and Titan Weapons for weapon sets.

Stalkers have Broadsword, Claws, Dual Blades, Ninja Blade, and Staff Fighting for weapon sets.
  18. Blasters and Corruptors are ranged primary AT's, not melee.

No amount of extending of a blade could be considered range.

Basically, a set they Devs likely wouldn't touch with a 10-foot pole.

It's a fascinating idea, though, and has intriguing possibilities for build variation. I'm just not sure if limiting them to powers you've obtained by your late 20s is necessarily a good idea. I don't know that it's a bad one, mind you, but that deserves careful consideration.
IIRC, those were the levels they were trying to add the extra slots at when they were looking at it previously.
  20. If they required me, in my job, to interrupt my Friday evening plans after work for something so trivial, they'd have to compensate me quite a bit.

Everything I've done outside of normal work hours (mostly working the ticket gate at sporting events or working the Reserved Seating entrance at the football games) was purely voluntary and I was compensated extra for my time.

I believe the infringement on employees off-work time is also the reason they changed the scheduling of the updates to the Paragon Market.

EDIT: Friday night is one of the two days of the week that I'd NEVER ask an employee to have to interrupt their off-hours plans every week. Saturday would be the other day.

    50+

    Let's see.

Beginning with Issue 19 we've gotten new stuff for our 50's to do with each issue.

    That's not enough for you?

In the previous 18 issues here's what we got for our 50's.

We got something new for our 50 heroes in Issue 1 (The Hive) as well as the ability to get to level 50.

We got the Power Respecification and the Shadow Shard zones in Issue 2.

We got Epic AT's in Issue 3 as a reward for reaching level 50. We also got APP's in that issue.

We got arena's and PVP in Issue 4.

We got Villains and PVP zones in Issue 6.

We got the ability for Villains to gain level 50 in Issue 7. We also got Patron Pools at that time.

We got something new for our 50 villains in Issue 9 (The Abyss). We got a revamped Hero Hamidon encounter in Issue 9 as well.

We got the Rikti War Zone in Issue 10.

We got Ouroboros in Issue 11.

We got Cimerora in Issue 12. We also got the ability for Villains to create Epic AT's in Issue 12.

We got Architect Entertainment and Mission Architect in Issue 14.

We got the Barracuda Strike Force for villains in Issue 15.

We got the Dr. Khan Task Force for heroes in Issue 15.

We got Power Customization in Issue 16.

We got the Going Rogue system and Tips in Issue 18.

Not to mention all of the lower level content that can be run by 50's that has been added since we got 50's for heroes in Issue 1 and 50's for villains in Issue 7.

EDIT: So basically Release contained nothing for 50's since they didn't exist. Issues 5, 8, 13 and 17 didn't have anything really for 50's (except for new lower level content to run).
