According to Arbiter Hawk
, what is broken is that the Level Shift from taking down the lights is only hitting 16 players, not all players and their pets. That will be fixed in an upcoming patch.
I haven't seen anything said officially that the weighting is what's broken. I've seen comments from players claiming it's broken, but nothing from the Dev team. -

Watching the replay yesterday I was a bit disappointed in the lack of tangents.

If you use Empyreans to unlock it, you aren't unlocking the recipe but instead are unlocking the actual left and right pistols on the character that is making the purchase.
Obligatory ParagonWiki link to Maelstrom's Pistol.
EDIT: Since the Wiki notes that Fezitron ... er ... Positron ... posted Arbiter Hawk's comments explaining how to obtain Maelstrom's Pistols I'll post that quote here as well.
Quote:Arbiter Hawk is in a meeting, but he wanted me to post this:
Hey all, just popping in here to give some clarification on this point:
There are two ways to obtain Maelstrom's Pistols as a costume piece. The recipe has a 4% chance to drop each time you see a pistol get knocked out of Maelstrom's hand in the TPN Campus incarnate trial. This occurs twice per playthrough on a successful trial - once when you defeat him inside the main TPN Campus building, and once when you defeat him outside during stage 4 of the trial. That means there's a 7.84% chance of somebody in the league getting the Maelstrom's Pistol recipe that you are currently seeing in the auction house listing. This recipe is tradeable and can be used by any dual pistols character or thugs mastermind at any level, meaning you can send it to your friend's new level 1 character to make a cool pistol for him to use. Using the recipe allows you to craft either the left pistol or the right pistol.
The other method of obtaining this costume piece is to complete the TPN Campus trial with an Incarnate character who uses either dual pistols or thugs, and then visit Empyrean Michael. You should then find that he will allow you to unlock both pistols on that character for a moderate Empyrean Merit cost. This ensures that all characters who can use dual pistols have a way of eventually unlocking Maelstrom's guns if that's what they want. The main goal with this reward is to give players multiple ways to earn a signature costume piece from an incarnate level villain, while making sense within the story of the trial (each time you beat him, he loses a gun, until he's left with only his fists and feet in the grand finale.) The idea here is that the recipe drop feels like a "bonus" - it allows you to use the pistol on a low level alt, or on a character you haven't done TPN with - but that any Dual Pistols or Thugs character who wants to unlock the piece for having defeated Maelstrom at TPN Campus is also able to do so. -
Quote:Fixed. That, and Marvel and MicroSoft really screwed Cryptic Studios and put them in a right bind when they pulled out of what would have been the Marvel MMO.
Paragon Studios never had anything to do with the Marvel MMO. That was all Cryptic Studios.
Paragon Studios wasn't around until long after NCSoft bought out Cryptic's portion of City of Heroes in November 2007. At first they just called the studio NCSoft NorCal (NCNC for short) then rebranded it with the Paragon Studios name in April 2009. -

She hasn't been around as much of late, but she's still known.
Hyperstrike's been around long enough to catch the reference. -
Complete some of the Personal Story Arcs from the contacts. Those seem to be counting as still having an "open book". Most likely it is counting Heather's story, Mu'Vorkan's story and Max's story making three "open books".
They are short non-combat missions that basically walk you through a map with some text or dialogs and take little time to run. -

Quote:It wasn't costume parts, it was a costume code. It overlays your own costume and model and can even do a gender change with some of them like using Carnie Ring Mistress codes on a Male or the Freakshow Tank code on a Female. So this is partly an Idea, and partly a question, with the question part being solved by the idea.
The question is this: for those who attended one of the recent fan summits, there was a costume part giveaway. Those costume pieces belong to the Rulu-shin faction in game, namely the chest and arm eyeballs ect.
The idea, is to add in an accolade badge to unlock both those costume pieces, and maybe some new customizable rularuu pieces, both weapons and armor, maybe some sort of staring eyeball cape.
I would say that the accolade would have to be worthy of all these unlocks..something like beating all the shard TFs 5 times and the Cathedral of Pain 5 times. yes that includes Quaterhell. But i see it as a worthy sacrifice to earn costume pieces.
flame away...or /sign away
Much like the Halloween costumes.
Also, they turn off my Cloaking Device. I'm not sure what other powers they override. -
It "shouldn't" mess with the game files at all.

Quote:Nah. We need a Fedora emoticon or a Driver/Ivy emoticon. The feedback we've gained thus far has been very helpful. Thank you everyone.
We have an open line of communication with the good people at Twitch.TV so we'll be sending them some of the feedback you guys have had.
One of the things we've requested is a "Q" emoticon -
Once you beat the two Arbiters it will unlock the elevator to the lower level where Black Scorpion is.
Usually when I've run it one Arbiter has been down a corridor to the left of one of the big rooms and the other Arbiter has been a corridor to the right of that room. Coming back into the room after defeating both of them I go through another hallway to get to the elevator.
When I get to the big room at the end of that level of the map, Black Scorpion is there with a few minions on the floor and Slinger behind him. There are also a few Arachnos on the upper levels of that room, but I don't think they have to be defeated. -

I had no trouble getting to the site earlier and I'm still getting there now. -
Quote:You can earn much more in DA other than just threads. You also earn iXP.See....the only thing you can earn in the DA arcs is threads. No incarnate salvage has -ever- dropped for me, nor come up as a reward. And never have I gotten an Empyrean merit reward. So, it's not solo incarnate content, per se. At least, not like a trial.
Add in the fact that the -only- way to get the "special" xp to unlock the newest incarnate ability is to run the Magi trial (or farm the frontloaded part) and....it just screams "play our new content!" to me. Personally, the only two trials I -liked- don't get played much any more, or are just speed runs, which I detest.
So, it's not that the single player game doesn't work for me....I prefer it.
I've gotten Enhancement Converters as drops off of mobs.
When you finish a story arc in the DA storyline you get a reward table choice. The choices are Incarnate Salvage (random table if selected, then you can choose which piece of salvage from that table), 10 Threads (I think it's 10, not at computer to check ), a random Astral or Empyrean Merit, a number of Reward Merits (not sure how many) or a Super Inspiration. If you aren't getting a reward table with a choice of different rewards for completing a DA story arc, you need to /bug it right away.
Now, the repeatable contacts in DA (Ephram Sha for Heroes and Maharaj for Villains) don't give the same reward table choices as the story contacts. They give a reward table with a choice of Incarnate Threads, Reward Merits or Super Inspirations. The first time each "day" (I believe it's on a timer) gets you more Threads as the reward from the Reward Table choice than running subsequent repeatables within that "day" will grant.
While there is no way currently to earn Advanced iXP in DA, I think we'll likely have a way to open the new slot outside of the Magisterium trial before long. And of course they are going to want to push us to run their new trial to get the new slot opened, otherwise they've wasted their time designing the trial. I just don't think we'll have as long of a wait to be able to open the slot outside of the trial as we did while waiting for the Solo/Small-team/non-iTrial path. -
Quote:Click on the words "Test my might." when you talk to Gabriel. He'll give you a list of missions that need to be completed before you can get the Empyrean Merit reward. When you finish them, click him and he'll give you the reward or tell you how long you have to wait to get the reward again (it's on a 7 day timer).See, I've already done all the DA arcs. Never talked to Gabriel beforehand, either. So now, all he says is "test my might". As far as the other answers go...huh. RNG must hate me. All I ever got was threads for doing the DA arcs.
If you did the arcs after he was added to the game, he might offer the rewards immediately after you click "Test my might". Since I didn't have a character in that state, I couldn't test it myself but I did see others report that it worked that way for them. -
Love this change so far.
I didn't catch it Live, but I did watch the recording. (Thanks for the shout-out Zwhatisthisthingonmyhead.)
With uStream even the recordings were choppy and nearly unwatchable for me.
With Twitch.TV it played so smoothly that I would have thought I was in the room with you.
I'm going to try again next week to catch the Live show and join you to see how it goes. Now that I know that the iPad app is apparently deficient in a few areas (chat) I'll just do it from my Desktop. I may have the app open as well to see if there is a problem with multiple streams here, but I'll wait until I've tested it on just the Desktop first to make sure that's not causing other problems.
The first show seems to have gone rather well after you turned the audio on and figured out some of the minor tweaks you needed to make.
Let's hope the rest of the shows go as well or better. -
Not having that problem here. Yes, I just launched the game through a remote connection to my home computer and the Launcher closed as it should.
Sounds like your Launcher is corrupted.
You may want to try uninstalling and reinstalling the Launcher.
But first, silly question time.
When did you last reboot? Did you try turning it off, rebooting, turning it on, rebooting then seeing what it does? -
Actually, in the early stages of the game development they talked about statues in various parts of the city that could change to show your character based on different achievements. That may have even been mentioned in the first E3 video they released.
I don't think it ever got anywhere past the "neat idea" stage however.
And of course, this was back before the revamp.
Back when Origin meant something.
Back when there was a more freeform type of power selection based on your Archetype.
I was always fond of the Gadgeteer idea. -

I had intended to try to watch this during lunch today but had a Tech Dept meeting scheduled for 10:30 Central.
I got waylaid with a surprise at the meeting and then we all went to lunch together.
Couldn't get out of it.
Sorry.
Hope you all had a good time. -
