What Necrotech_Master was saying, and the part he quoted, was in the OP where it described the Booster pack. You didn't need to open the store interface to read it, it was right there in the Announcement.

You came into the thread and asked questions that were answered in the first post of the thread.
  2. City of Heroes uses OpenGL for graphics. Most other games use DirectX for graphics. Comparisons of performance are like comparing the tastes of Apples and Oranges. If you want to benchmark and test OpenGL performance, download and run Furmark.

Make sure that you have the NCSoft Launcher set to close after launching the game.

You may want to post a HiJackThis log as well so that we can make sure that other programs aren't interfering with CoH.

Turn off Advanced Occlusion and Ambient Occlusion. Completely OFF, not at reduced settings.

You may want to consider upgrading your graphics driver as well as yours is a bit over a year old.

As always, when upgrading drivers be sure to remove the drivers and software, reboot into Safe Mode and run Driver Sweeper to remove the remnants of the old drivers still left on the system and then boot into normal Windows mode to load the new drivers.

Tunnel Rat has moved over to the other project Paragon Studios is working on.

This is the same project that Second Measure, Black Scorpion, TheDarkWatcher, Hero 1, The Television and Noble Savage have moved to as well.

There may be others that have shifted to the other project that I'm forgetting but these are the ones that come to mind immediately.

    Guess you missed it.

Easy to miss, it was a rather long post.

    I sure wish...

It takes little to no effort to look at WW and see if the item is listed. That would have shown you that at least one bug was fixed and you'd have then been able to decide if you wanted to check to see if the rest of the bugs were fixed rather than posting a gripe post in a forum section designed for asking questions.

As for your OP, people would rightly think you were upset since you called it a gripe in your first post. If you weren't upset, why refer to it as a gripe? If you'd called it a mild annoyance instead I doubt anyone would have thought you were upset.

    Yes. It is for both.

If you had bothered to click the link it would have been quite evident.
  7. They do still have the Refer a Friend program. This is the link to the Knowledge Base article.

There is also a link to it on the Account page on the NCSoft site but it would be useless for me to post the link since it requires me to be logged in to access it.

They also have a link to it on the Paragon Market screen that will take you to that Account page. This is available on the Paragon Market screen for VIP accounts, Free accounts and Premium accounts. Since I have all three types, I checked each one to make sure it is there.

Here's part of the screenshot from my Premium account. Note that you can see the Become a VIP icon in the upper right corner.

As for the VIP Trial, well, they don't really have a free trial for the VIP experience, but they do have the VIP Starter Kit that has been on sale for either $0.99 or $1.99 previously that gave 30 days of VIP time for almost nothing (normal price of the VIP Starter Kit is $14.99).

As for what you can do with the AH license without an IO license? You can buy ATO's that players have put up for sale in the AH. Those aren't IO's and aren't under the same restrictions of needing an Invention license. Also, there are other items that can be bought and sold on the AH other than Inventions.

The EAT Access is because you had unlocked it when you were subscribing prior to CoH: Freedom's launch either by getting a Hero to level 50 or after they lowered the requirement to getting a Hero to level 20. The plan was that it would require an unlock, but since they were already unlocked on those accounts they remained unlocked after the change. They decided to leave it as it was on those accounts rather than go in and apply new code to lock those AT's again, especially since it may have introduced other problems. It's an added bonus for those that had unlocked the EATs (and VEATs) when they were subscribed prior to the changes. I haven't seen a Reward Tier unlock for EATs or VEATs as there is for MMs and Controllers, so that wouldn't have any affect on it.

MMs and Controllers didn't work that way since there wasn't an unlock method for those ATs before Freedom, so there was no way to have them already unlocked except by Reward Tiers.

IO's aren't required to play the game. There are several VIP's using SO builds or SO/HO builds. Up until a week or so ago I was running a SO/HO build on my main with no trouble and he's existed since the 3 day headstart. That's merely a convenience.

I also play my Premium account some and I haven't noticed the limitations on that account even though I'm only at Tier 3. I have just as much fun on that account as I do on my VIP account. The only thing I notice is that I'm not constantly having to get rid of Salvage or Recipes like I did before Freedom.

Not as obvious as you want to make it seem apparently.

Not only did Hyperstrike interpret it that way, but I did as well.

It seems Arcanaville did as well and who knows how many others.

You are the only one I've seen express the interpretation as something different.

Unless Nal comes in and explicitly states what was meant, we won't know for sure.

    I sure wish...

I found it humorous that the fix had already been applied before the OP's gripe post and follow-up post.

All it would have taken was trying to put it into WW to see that part of it was fixed and it would have also likely given enough info to realize the level part was fixed as well.

Knowing there was a patch, I'd have at least checked it before making a post to gripe about it.
  10. Shield using characters aren't exactly prevalent in Comics either, yet many people asked for years for a Shield powerset.

They are as much of a niche powerset as water blast characters (or any liquid type blast) in comics.

When Shied Defense was added to the game I'm rather sure I saw a few comments along the lines of those that complained about how long it took to get water blast.
  11. I've seen no such "culture of paranoia" that you describe. Especially since your comment was in response to a remark about the NCSoft/Cryptic vs. Marvel suit.

Which is likely why Golden-Girl wasn't generic'd long ago.

And we actually do have a bit more leeway now than we did then.

Before, if the character got Generic'd there was no way to appeal the process. A player could try to make their case for why it wasn't an IP violation all they wanted but they paid no attention to it. Once you were Generic's there was no getting it changed.

Now, you can appeal it and have it escalated to a more senior CS person. They may not change their minds, but you can at least try to make your case as to why the character isn't an IP violation. Jim Butcher has had to do that several times with his Harry Dresden character in the game.

So yeah, that's selling out the players because it was cheaper than continuing to litigate in the interest of a better result.

It's always interesting to me how violently passionate some folk become in support of the rights of corporations to supersede their own.
Actually, those same rules were already in effect before the lawsuit. Players didn't have any more leeway then than they do now.

I saw plenty of Hulk, Superman, Green Lantern, Wolverine, Iron Man, Cyclops and other clones get the Generic tag before the lawsuit.

Did some slip past for a while? Sure. But if/when they were reported the GM's Generic'd them, the same as they do now.
  13. The second post is a repeat of the CoH Helper output.

Please post the output from HiJackThis.

When posting, please do not put it inside the code blocks, just paste the contents of the clipboard directly into the post.
  14. Poor Black Pebble. No matter how often he corrects them they keep referring to the new power set as Water Blasting instead of Water Blast.
  15. VIP Players that haven't unlocked the Alpha Slot can run the DA arcs while on a team with someone that has unlocked the Alpha Slot.

So, it is still possible that the player has seen the Dream Doctor and worked with them (while on someone else's mission) before running the Ramiel arc.

    More of that wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey ... stuff.
  16. Ask politely that the ticket be escalated to a Senior CS rep.

Some of the lower level CS people may not have access to the logs but they can escalate it to a Senior CS person.

They have logs that they can go through to verify that they items were put in storage and if they were removed it will show who removed them. If it shows that they were not removed but are not currently in the storage bins, they can restore them.

Remember to stay polite when asking that it be escalated to a Senior CS rep.
  17. You can also unlock the Alpha Slot with an unlock voucher from Astral Christy, from gaining iXP in either DA or iTrials, or buying iXP with Threads.

Once the Alpha Slot is unlocked Captain Nolan will become a Contact and players will be able to start the DA arcs.

Since you don't have to have completed Ramiel's arc to get Nolan as a Contact (and start the DA arcs) it doesn't necessarily follow that you'd get the text from Ramiel before meeting the Dream Doctor.

Also, there are other letter's that a player can receive from the letter writer before getting to level 50 and having access to Ramiel's arc, so it is entirely possible that a player may already be working with him before doing Ramiel's arc. This seems to be the reference being made in Ramiel's arc.

You may want to check The Pilgrim's arc, Lazarus' arc, Twilight Son's TF, Tesseract's SF, Mender Silos' TF or SF, Imperious TF, Adair's arc and MacArthur's arc. In some cases you get the letters as clues and in other cases the letters are handed to you.
  18. If you have exited to the desktop and relaunched the game and it hasn't fixed the problem.

Reboot the computer and relaunch the game.

If it hasn't fixed the problem the next step is to run a Repair from the Launcher.

Sounds like you may have some corruption.
  19. Then you should file a /petition in-game to have it looked at.
  20. The Taskforce Commander Accolade and the Epaulets costume pieces were added in Issue 7.

    That was in June 2006.

    6 years old, not 7.

    A very odd fps?

Since I see the wireless adapter listed in the HJT logs ....

Are you running the game on a wireless connection?

If so, does it do the same thing if you connect it using ethernet?

If it doesn't do the same thing, it's would seem to be a wireless issue. Try different channels. Try a different location. Check to see if there is a newer firmware for your router. Check to see if there are newer drivers for your wireless adapter.

Or just keep running it using ethernet instead.

You may also want to shut off the silentc0re toolbar, the xsherlock service and make sure that your Bluetooth adapter is not in a Discoverable state or connected to another device.
