Not one. You can download the Updater, which will then download all of the updates.

Having three in-game TF-style encounters that use this mechanic still doesn't make it a "must." So while it would be nice (because it's always good to have more options) I wouldn't call it a "must have," especially when the MA is missing simple things like "lead an escort to an object" or "find mission door."

Not to argue with you, but just pointing out that it isn't only during TF's/SF's where this occurs. You also get three AV's spawned in the same location during the Faultline arc.
Admittedly, half the fun for me is to let the 3 AV's fight it out amongst themselves first (making sure I get one hit in on each AV) and then fighting the survivor.
But, I'm a solo player so that's the ONLY way I'll survive in that instance. -
Actually, that is the same path mine is installed to.
On my previous computer it was E:\Games\CoH.
Go figure. -

Really? You'd rather they release something that they are SELLING to us with the known bugs it has?
People raise too much of a ruckus for them releasing the free Issues with bugs. Can you imagine the uproar if they released a product they are SELLING with this many known issues?
Or are you just in the "but I want it now" category? -
Whatever you do, please DON'T review my little ego-stroking arc. Or if you decide to review it, just don't post it publicly on the forums.
You've been exposed to me enough in the game that you "get" some of the jokes and stereotypes about my characters.
EDIT: I don't think I could take being put through the Crucible. -
Those are two different paths that can be taken from the SAME AT Arachnos Widow
Similarly, Banes and Crabs are two different paths of the AT Arachnos Soldiers. -
Waddaya mean Ultraviolet was a "hoooooooorrible" movie. Also, it could be that others got the reference but didn't comment on it.
Whether or not that would be from the shame of admitting they watched the movie .....
EDIT: Actually, if you turn off the sound, it's not so bad. -
Actually, with Vista or Windows 7 it is recommended not to install it to the Program Files directory.
Besides, it looks like he only has one physical hard drive. I suspect the D: drive that is showing is a partition that is holding a restore image. In addition, there is only 1864 MB free on that drive. If he did manage to install the game to that drive, it would leave him with virtually no free space on the drive.
Two other things to do after getting the game installed from the download. Update to SP2 in Vista through Windows Updates. Update your video drivers to the 185.xx drivers from nVidia. DON'T get the 186.xx drivers as those are causing problems in Vista and Windows 7. -
I'd recommend starting with Zloth's ++ Common Solutions & Posting Guidelines ++ thread that is stickied in this forum.
Secondly, post a log from running CoH Helper as it will give information about your system and the CoH installation and settings.
Thirdly, post a log from running HijackThis. This will show what else is going on on your computer while you are playing CoH. -
You may still get some odd reflections in Low. If you do, just set them to Off in that case.

Could also be some wiring rubbing against a fan.

Those are the Open Beta forums. Now that I15 is Live those forums are closed for posting.
That is the normal method they follow with the Beta forums.
This has nothing to do with the transition to new forum software.
And .... the Devs hate you.

Copy your friends City of Heroes installation folder to a Flash Drive, external USB drive, DVD, or some other media.
Paste those files into your City of Heroes installation folder.
Delete the coh.checksum file and start the updater. It should rebuild the checksum file and then allow you into the game.
If you continue to have problems at that point, post a log from running CoH Helper as it will give information about your system and the CoH installation and settings.
Also, post a log from running HijackThis. This will show what else is going on on your computer while you are trying to play CoH. -
You can force it to Windowed mode using the TweakCoH program, but I'm not sure how well it works on Windows 7.
Or, n the registry, go to the HKey_Current_User\Software\Cryptic\ entry, select your game installation (mine are not default so not sure how yours show up), look for the fullscreen entry and set it to 0 to run in Windowed mode. If the fullscreen entry is not there, create a new String Value named fullscreen and set the value to 0. -
Don't use the 186.xx drivers. Go back to the 185.85 drivers.

Since it is an ATI graphics card, I'd recommend leaving Anti-Aliasing turned Off.
If you cannot find an Anti-Aliasing setting, then you have your Graphics settings in the game set to not use or not show the Advanced Settings.
To get to the Advanced Settings, go to Menu >Options and click on the Graphics and Audio tab. The 4th line down should be Advanced Settings. Set this to Enabled. This will allow you to get to these settings.
Now, I'd really recommend adjusting the settings to the recommendations in the first post of BillZBubba's stickied ATI Issues and Settings Recommendations thread. It will give the settings to set in the Catalyst Control Center and in the games Options. It also gives a brief explanation on some of the settings and why they need to be set that way. -
I believe so. This was reported the day I15 released.

2. The rewards for the villain SF are the same as the hero TF. 20 merits. Given the increased level of complexity of the SF, it would appear that villains get screwed again. It is likely that the developers haven't benchmarked the times of the new TF/SF given the last minute changes leading up to launch. I think the merits on both will be bumped, probably 25 for the TF and 45 for the SF.

Foxbat, er, Horatio already stated in his very first post on the forums that the rewards will be increasing for the SF, and that they will be datamining and expect them to go up more in the future based on the datamining.
He also gave some insights into the TF and SF as well as indicating that he will be adjusting the story so it fits more in line with existing canon.
For those wondering why I called him Foxbat at first, he will ALWAYS be Foxbat to many of those that know the Hero Games characters he created. Likely the most famous of all those characters is Foxbat.
It's a shame Bruce can't use that name on the forums here. -
You beg to differ on what?
A) That you don't have a direct connection to the update servers and something between your computer and the update servers could be causing your problem?
B) That you need to file a support ticket so that they are aware of the problem you are having?
or
C) That you need to file a support ticket so that the people with the tools to work with you and the servers can try to help you resolve the problems?
I think I'll go back to just supporting educators with computer issues. It's less headaches overall.
