Exactly the same situation here. Those "lost" days really irritate me at times also.

Sorry, don't have an nVidia card in the system that dual boots to Win7 and Vista.

If I did, I'd jump at the opportunity to tinker.

I'd recommend starting with Zloth's ++ Common Solutions & Posting Guidelines ++ thread that is stickied in this forum.

Secondly, post a log from running CoH Helper as it will give information about your system and the CoH installation and settings.

Thirdly, post a log from running HijackThis. This will show what else is going on on your computer while you are playing CoH.

And it's not at all possible that there are any problems between your cable modem and the game servers.

From what I've read when this question came up in other areas, the Meow Farms were the MA farms using the Level 42 Rikti Communication Officer (some say it was the version from the Sewer Trial) that gave LT XPj on Minion HP. They'd create custom groups with only those critters in the group. Since only one of the critters per spawn would activate a portal, it was a fairly simple high XP gaining group with very little risk if any.

As for why the Meow name? Several variants. The first one to come up with this type of farm was a catgirl, the Comm Officers looked a bit like Cats (huh?), some of these farms were putting the word Meow in the description to make them easy to find.

Whatever the reason, Meow it was.

Having a thread marked to be Stickied does not automatically mark it as Do Not Purge.

Those are two separate settings in UBB.

When there is an update, especially a major update, the CoHUpdater.exe file is often changed to a different version, which will often cause Anti-Virus and Firewall programs to remove it from safe lists and allow lists.

All servers currently showing as UP with the correct date and time.

Yeah, if you refresh the page several times, you'll finally get it to show todays info. At least for a while.

Possibly, it's also possible that this fan could have been the other source of the troubles all along. It's most likely a Northbridge chipset fan, although I've seen some boards with an odd heat sink and fan arrangement.

Malwarebytes was able to get rid of what Spybot, Adaware, and AVG couldn't on my machine.

And if you can't get it to load or run due to the infections being so bad, load it on another computer and connect the hard drive from this computer as a slave and scan it, then once it gets rid of the base problems you'll be able to put it back in your computer and get MalawareBytes to install and run correctly.

I've recovered several drives and cleaned them when local computer repair shops (including a major chain that doesn't always do it's Best unless they are trying to get you to Buy something) had claimed they were unrepairable and "HAVE" to have Windows totally reloaded.
