Its not very fun, its true. a lot of people dislike running it unless you have a truckload of debuffs to make Reichsman less likely to take 20 minutes to kill. not to mention other than the first map its very generic, re-used maps

Huh? How do you get that that is an East Coast server thing?

East coast servers being Freedom, Infinity, Liberty, Pinnacle, Triumph and Victory.

West coast servers being Justice, Champion, Guardian, Protector and Virtue.

Two of the servers mentioned in the first post as being unable to log in to are West Coast servers, as is Virtue mentioned in the second post.

Freedom is East Coast, but Champion is West Coast.

So ... for the title .... huh?

I'd recommend starting with Zloth's ++ Common Solutions & Posting Guidelines ++ thread that is stickied in this forum.

Secondly, post a log from running CoH Helper as it will give information about your system and the CoH installation and settings.

Thirdly, post a log from running HijackThis. This will show what else is going on on your computer while you are playing CoH.

Bah. Unable to test. The account owner that has the Science Booster is out of town and didn't take the work phone.

Not quite ready to put the Science Booster on my account as yet since it would be purely for the emotes and MAYBE some of the costume pieces.

And from the lists of those that were down, it appears that it WAS just the West Coast servers. No East Coast servers were named as being down. In fact, only 1 East Coast server was mentioned and that was Freedom being UP.

Well, just from these two posts above, it seems it's down on West coast but up on East coast. However, we need information on other servers by coast to make sure.

I wonder if it's a coast issue?

Do we see a pattern following what coast the server is on?

This is a new variant of a Personal Antivirus 2009, XP Antivirus 2008, System Protect 2008 and similar malware programs.

Malawarebytes has yet to fail me in getting rid of any of the variants that I've come across working on either District computers or people's personal computers.

If it's badly enough infected before I get my hands on it, I may have to rename the Malawarebytes setup program to mbam.com to get it to run. Twice I've had to remove the drive and using a USB adapter add it as a slave to my computer and scan it that way first, then put the drive back in the computer and install and run Malawarebytes normally.

I'll see if I can replicate it once I get home. I can try it on a Vista 64 system, an XP system, and a Win7 64 system.

It'll be a couple of hours before I can get out of the office, so ... figure a post somewhere around 5:30 PM Central to give me time to try each OS.

Video drivers are the problem.

Uninstall the 186.18 drivers. Download the 185.85 drivers from here. Download Guru3D's DriverSweeper, reboot into Safe Mode, run DriverSweeper, reboot into normal mode and install the 185.85 drivers.

If you are still having problems, post a HijackThis log so that we can see what else is running.

I stopped using Ventrillo.

Global channels are on a different server, they are a bit slow to come up at times.

Regular server maintenance has been Monday and Friday mornings for quite some time now.

Actually, they show as Down if you are looking at todays date. The Server Status page gets into a loop and shows Jun 24 data. Refresh the page several times watching the date in the lower right corner of the list of servers.

48 hours ago would have been Friday afternoon/evening. They may not have run a synchronization between the two servers that late in the day on a Friday.

Ok, something looks odd in your CoH Helper output. Wuite a few lines have this:

I'm not 100% certain, but I believe that is a sign of a corrupted video driver installation. Uninstall the drivers, boot into Windows Safe Mode, run DrverSweeper , reboot and install the drivers cleanly.

Your C: drive has a mere 7% free space. That's going to cause problems for both Windows and CoH as it isn't enough free space for either to work well with. I'd recommend cleaning off unneeded files and try to get that free space up to at least 25%.

Also, you have a whooooole lot of unnecessary programs loading at Startup (all of the 04 entries in HijackThis) and especially for only having 1 Gig of RAM.

The information in CoH Helper and HijackThis is the information anyone would need to make an informed suggestion about how to resolve your problems.

Anything else would be purely a guessing game since we don't have enough information to work from.

Sounds like a server rollback.
