Gee, I'd have put in a ticket a week or two ago, especially knowing that a Double XP Weekend was coming up. Give a bit of time for people to try to find and resolve a problem. But then again, I'm rather peculiar like that.

And I hope you've also contacted your ISP to get them on board with the troubleshooting process and helping resolve the problems. Sometimes the weight an ISP can throw at people with problematic hardware is enough to get things fixed.
  2. I'd agree. It would also likely help with the players that come in here demanding a Dev response to their particular pet peeve of the minute, such as Windows 7 not working smoothly with nVidia's current buggy drivers.

Are you wanting a list of forums as they appeared on the UBB forums? If so clicking on the word "English" will open up all the sections into on long list of forums.
I "think" what they are looking for, as I am, is the Favorite Forum toggle that UBB had that would allow you to customize what you saw on your front page. When you wanted to see the rest of the forums you had to click a link to show all forums.

For example, for the longest I had Justice Server, Announcements, HeroCon, Developer's Corner, Technical Issues and Bugs, and The Training Room (Test Server) set as Favorite Forums so that I didn't have to see all of the other servers that I wasn't interested in. Occaisionally I'd add a new Favorite (much as I recently added the Technical Issues and Bugs section or various Beta boards as needed) but mostly I only saw the forums that I wanted to see.

Is there a way to set this in vBulletin?

    onoz.

Meh. I lost the first post due to being stuck at work, and ... having to actually do some work for a change this summer.

    *sigh*

The easy days are over, administrators start coming back for training Monday.
  5. Truth be told, I'm not sure what you are referring to about the smiley face.

But there is No Shame in looking back to the middle of June.

Thank you for your response Texas however I did try the 185.85 and the newest ones 190ish drivers as well and had the same results so I uninstalled them and went further back thinking that may have been the issue.

  8. When you put in the initial replacement board, did you just update the chipset drivers for the motherboard or did you do a clean install of Windows onto a new (or freshly formatted) hard drive?
  9. I blame TehVyze for coming in here being all cheerful and helpful.

Oh wait, this isn't the blame thread is it.

    NM. Carry on.

  10. D'oh! That's what I get for trying to think when I'm this sleepy. I totally missed that Bill, and it should have been the first thing to come to mind.

    System Slowdown

D: drive looks like it is a manufacturer's Restore partition.
  12. Which is why one of the two is buggy behavior. Either it should reveal for all on the team or none but the user.
  13. The system specs look good enough that you should be able to run just about all of the graphic settings at Max.

Have you tried scanning with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware? Running MemTest86+?
  14. Video Drivers are over a year old. One of the nVidia gurus would know better, but I seem to recall hearing something about the 177 drivers having trouble.

Here is the link to the 185.85 drivers that many are using with few problems.
  15. I'd also send a PM to Castle on that as well.
  16. EB Games/GameStop, Best Buy (at times), and Fry's I've found gametime cards in.

I have yet to find them in a Wal-Mart. They may be in some, but none in my area that I've seen (and I'm including this to be an ~2 hour drive from my home, so that would include Houston, Austin, San Antonio and Corpus Christi).

Jobs aren't that difficult to come by if you are willing to put in the effort. True, they may not be your dream job, or even an appealing job, but money to play the game is money to play the game. Just don't break any laws, m'kay?

Anyway, you’ll notice that my avatar is way better than everyone else’s. I didn’t mean for this to happen, and I apologize. What I suggest, is that you refrain from looking directly at the image for prolonged periods of time, as this may cause bleeding of the eyes as well cirrhosis of the cerebellum.

Please finish your guide so that I too can have an awesome forum avatar like yourself!

I've got a number of projects to work on, although this might be a good time to see if I can finagle a half day off or so. Plus we actually have work to do regarding the migration, it's not a hands off process.

I still might get a chuckle, and post something objectionable on my personal forum so I can keep in moderation practice.

I just checked out the vBulletin board site, reviewed the functionality it allows, and perused several sites vBulletin holds up as "Site of the Month." I'm left with a profound sense of "MEH."

Then I checked out the European boards and discovered a super-generic style accompanied by a long list format I refer to as "everscroll." To be honest, I've personally put up a better looking message board than the EU site in both organization and graphical design... and I have zippo experience in board customization other than changing colors and downloading skins.

So if the new boards are simply going to be MEH + EU generica, you've got a winning formula for degradation of overall experience. The only benefit I'm hoping there might be is a boost in load speed.

If there was a discussion on the why of this change, I'd dearly appreciate a linky.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The EU boards are not on vBulletin, they are on UBB just like these are.

The vBulletin boards we worked with in the I13 Beta gave a much better feel (IMHO) than these UBB boards do.
  22. No, I answer it with a link to a post on the very same subject that was started earlier today IN THIS SAME SECTION OF THE FORUMS.

Much like the "MA is the ruination of the game" threads, we don't need multiple threads on this subject in the same forum section.

One is more than enough per forum section.
