Ok. Phantom finally got back to me, so that just leaves The Meg as not having responded.
At this point, I feel safe in saying I'll have 2 spots available for riders, so let me know if you want to reserve a seat in the TJ minivan for the trip to the meal (and back). -
Also, HughesNet (being the DirecTV satellite ISP) will give you quite a bit of lag.
It should still be playable, but this is always something to consider when dealing with any network issues when using HughesNet. -
I'm having no issues with my Vista 64-bit system or the Windows 7 64-bit install on the same computer using a different HD. Both of those use the C:\Games directory for installation.
I'm also having no issues with my old XP system or the Windows 7 32-bit installation on it using a different HD. On that Win7 installation I purposely put the game in the Program Files folder as well as the Test Server load. I've not had any problems with game updates on either the Live version or the Test version.
And I'm not running the Win7 RC on either system. Both are the RTM versions, downloaded through TechNet. Glad someone (EvilRyu ?) pointed out the special they were having on subscriptions this summer. Best birthday present I could have bought myself as far as I'm concerned. -
Quote:IIRC, this is EXACTLY why they wait a couple of days after the issue release. They have, in the far past, granted the tokens the same day and there was much whining and moaning on the forums (yes, it even happened back then) that the new characters were getting shafted on the costume tokens. So, they changed the deployment strategies to come a couple of days after the issue release.Actually it's a great idea that they wait. That way people can make alts with the new available proliferated power sets and get tailor tokens on them, too. If they granted them right away, all new alts would be out of luck for a free costume change.
There shouldn't be any real issue with waiting a couple days if you want a freebie change. If you've been here a while, you likely have several piled up anyway from the last token grants. -
Likely the same things being reported in this thread.
-
I would also recommend upgrading Vista to Service Pack 2. There are several items in there that have helped with graphics issues for others.
-
My suggestion would be to PM Ghost Falcon and let him know of the issues, and also point him to this thread since it may give him an insight into what is causing the problems or a way to replicate them.
As a backup, PM Niviene, The Ocho, or Avatea the same info. -
Also, you are NOT up to date on Vista Service Packs. Service Pack 2 was released around the end of May of 2009. Sometimes it won't show up due to other updates needing to be installed, or occasionally because someone accidentally hid the update.
You can get the download directly from Microsoft here for 32-bit versions of Vista, or here for 64-bit versions.
Also, DXDiag doesn't give the best info for us here. It would be better to post the results of running CoH Helper. This will also show us the ingame settings for video as well as the most relevant information that DXDiag gives us, but formatted better to make it easier to find what is needed. -

Saw similar issues in a computer at work recently. It had been doing this with increasing regularity and was slowly getting worse. Last week they heard a "pop" in the office and the computer wouldn't get fully to a login screen. If you tabbed your way through the login screen sections, it would just reboot trying to load into Windows.
We opened the case and found blown capacitors on the video card. They had been slowly going bad and finally had enough and blew. We replaced the card and no issues at all. -
Quote:Considering infallible, SuperGoober, possibly MissInformed and possibly others are getting ready to fly out from Texas to California next month, that may not have been the best choice of words to use.For the first time in my life... I actually wish I was in Texas.
I know that I won't be making an offer, after that line, to stop at a Potbelly's and bring some with me on the plane for ya.

Quote:Seems the language filter is still broken.I'm trying to sort for English posts but am still seeing posts in other languages.
Anyone else having this issue or know a way to work around it?
Any thoughts Devian? Or any clue as to when it may be resolved?
Thanks by the way, I love your Digest. -
On the way to the dinner, we do not want to get lost.
The rest of the weekend is fair game. -

I thought this was fixed a while back.
I don't see it on the Known Issues page, or on the ParagonWiki Known Issues list though so ... I'll wait to see what others might say. -
Quote:Do or do not... there is no try.No need to be sorry. I was trying to be funny by saying something so ludicrous that you can't believe someone actually said that out loud. Also, I realize I'm not as funny as I like to think I am. Therefore, I expect to catch some flak.

Sure will be nice to have someone else driving again. Especially since it will be the best driver and not The Meg.
A drop off to a relatives can be arranged, and if you need a pick up we can do that also.
I'm taking my sister's (or nephew's) GPS with me this year, and pre-programming several addresses. Hopefully that will help get things right.
Ok, so far I have 2 confirmed with me in the minivan, and one declining since he'll have his own rental. I'm still waiting to hear from The Meg and Phantom for confirmation, but we should have at least room for 2 more, 3 if we stuff The Meg behind the rear seat or lash him to the roof. -
Click the icon of the scales in the section to the left of my post, down on the bottom line. When the little box comes up, type "something" into the box and select "I disapprove". Once that is done, click "Add to Reputation". It will add negative Reputation to my post. I've been told by some vbullettin forum mods I know (they don't have fun posts like we get here, theirs is all Technical details about schematics, wiring, etc) that a . is usually sufficient to add Negative Rep, and depending on how things are set up, sometimes even a space will do.
For those that are curious, the icon to the right of that is the one that you use to notify the moderator if you think my post is inappropriate. The nice thing about the new forums is that you get a text box to explain WHY you think it is inappropriate, so that the mods don't have to guess at what you don't like.

Quote:Nope. Otherwise, I wouldn't have gotten it through Windows Update on my new Dell.Reading the specifications on that page that you linked, it does look like it's the correct one. The wierd thing is that he downloaded all important updates as it is, but SP2 still did not show in Windows Update. I'm wondering if Dell might have done something to block that update.
Also, if you call Dell Tech Support (and get someone that actually speaks English AND knows what they are doing) one of the first things they will do is ask you to upgrade to SP2 through Windows Update. From what I understand, it's part of their contract with Microsoft to support official Service Pack updates and has some severe penalties if they don't.
Yeah, Dell won't block a Service Pack from Microsoft. Nor will any OEM that wants to keep their contracts with them. -
You can thank Posi for the link he posted on twitter. Someone else posted the T-Shirt link, but I can't recall which Dev it was. Possibly The Dark Watcher.
I do remember it was either shortly before or shortly after Posi had gone to see G.I. Joe (opening night?). -
Quote:Too true. The only thing that might annoy her more is if we decided to find some images of that Star we Texans are so proud of and feel we have to display on everything.
it's as big as ... well, Texas. (also, quoting the sprawling post is probably far, far more annoying.)
or my favorite, by far:

Sorry MissInformed, once I got started I couldn't seem to stop.

No luggage needed when going to Buca.
If we are short on room for getting to the hotel from the airport, we can tie him on top.
Having driven a Caravan for several years now, I know all kinds of ways to tie things on top even without the ski rack or luggage rack. -
Well, I do have a couple of friends that live in the area. I used to work with a couple of them in Colorado, and even rented a room (and part of the computer room) from one of them for a while.
I also have a relative in the area, although I'm inclined not to let him know I'm coming as he tends to monopolize my time by trying to "take care of me while I'm visiting". I'm sure some of you know the type.
I've also been known to just get in a vehicle and start driving around to think or blow off steam, and sometimes just out of boredom.
If you don't get a rental Arwen, you already have a reservation in mine. I'm just waiting to hear from the other 4 now. Theoretically, that would give us 6 people in a minivan labeled to hold 7. If Meg, Brax and I took the bench seat for 3, that would give us room for one more.
If we stuff Meg in the space behind that bench seat, we can hold 2 more.
