Put me down as a tentative Alt, or tentative team 2 if enough sign up.
Guess it's time for me to break my LGTF cherry. Someday I might try STF and ITF as well. -
Pure curiosity since I'm having trouble reading it, but what exactly did pohsyb end up writing.
If you aren't sure, it's the long string of letters.
We can likely interpret the acronyms once we all see them. -
As of today, I'm still not getting them either.
Such a shame.
Of course, since we don't always know that a newsletter has been sent out, it's just wild guesses when checking the email as to whether anything should be there or not.
If I can offer a suggestion, would it be possible for the people responsible for sending these out to email a few of the people that are saying here that they aren't getting the emails when they do send out a newsletter. That way those individuals can be scouring their email accounts for anything out of the ordinary. It would also give us a specific date that we could use to track back with our ISP/mail service provider/etc to see if we or PS can find where the problems are occurring. -
Quote:Same here about running it on the official release for a couple of months due to where I work.See my thoughts for you in my other thread. Also I had to run the install as Administrator.
Win 7 has a tighter security setup in it, and changes to system files and registry tends to be a lot tighter. CoH was written with XP in mind, so using run as admin is required.
And I've been running the official release for 2 months thanks to being in an IT department for a living.
I also have my own Technet Subscription in addition to the work connection, so I've been able to test CoH with all of the various versions of Windows 7. -
Quote:I didn't notice. I was too busy trying not to draw the ire of the cougar in my direction by laughing out loud. I've always heard that they can smell a wounded critter, and in the shape I was in there was no way I could have escaped safely if she'd turned on me. Besides, it was much funnier watching the Nut.Was it just me, or was that guy not entirely pleased that she drew attention to the fact he was going home with her?
That and the fact that Syren was sitting next to me kept me from noticing much of anything else. -
Quote:Thanks Uber, I learned something new today. I never realized they'd done this as I always use the www.paragonwiki.com address to get there. I also haven't ever used the wiki.cohtitan.com address, or I'd have seen the Paragon Wiki logo.
That's the same thing. They long ago had the DNS for ParagonWiki moved to the Titan site. (They recently had some issues with the DNS expiring, but they got it straightened out in short order.)

Quote:Um. Those links are to the Wiki on the Titan Network, not to Paragonwiki.Except that lore wise, they are magic

But no, neither are official sites. Both do have information however that came from the official site but is either no longer on the site or rather difficult to find. -
I'd recommend starting with Zloth's ++ Common Solutions & Posting Guidelines ++ thread that is stickied in this forum.
Secondly, post a log from running CoH Helper as it will give information about your system and the CoH installation and settings.
Thirdly, post a log from running HijackThis. This will show what else is going on on your computer while you are playing CoH.
Also, what type of internet connection do you have? Are you using a router? Is it a wired connection or wireless? -

Quote:Well, I'd have liked to have gotten in on the photo ops with Chloe, Miss Liberty, the Meat Doctor and Stabitha, but I guess this will have to do.Yeah? Sit & chat with Pope! Well enough is one thing, the two of you together!?!
It was pretty small, but I think TA may be having eye troubles too! Did you see how close he had to get just to see her costume?
Maybe next time the photographer will think to turn the camera to get the short skirt and legs on Miss Liberty in the picture.

Quote:Oh, I was appreciating it well enough.Dag-nabbit! I knew I was doing something wrong!
It's a crime Pope & TJ weren't able to put their heads together on how best to appreciate Miss Liberty's costume! I'm afraid I may have been stifling the man's creativity!
Surprised you could see it though Red. -
Quote:I've thought about it off and on over the past year, and the thing that has kept me from bringing it up anywhere was the number of times that one or more raid leaders had trouble getting into the zone initially due to early arrivals and leechers filling the zone.We have no problem filling the zone or finishing raids.
I was thinking we might want to consider the occasional "Hami raid tonight, join JFA for more info" to help people that would have to hear about it by word of mouth.
Just an idea, haven't really thought it through.
I'd hate to be the person helping to advertise the raid in the zone and then not be able to get into the zone to participate. That's the real drawback I keep bumping up against. -
I've switched to using Firefox for the forums thanks to the work of Zombie Man, Aggelakis and some others whose names I can't remember.
I've got Stylish installed and I'm using Zombie Man's Hero Skin (the Villain Skin is nice as well, but I'm a Blue fan). I've also installed Greasemonkey and I'm using the Forum Signature Tamer and the Sticky Fix scripts with it. I've also installed FFvB to handle a few vBulletin items, or at least make them easier to manage.
I "think" that Stylish may work with Chrome, but I'm not certain. I've heard that it works with Opera as well, but haven't tested it.
I'd recommend trying it out to see if it's something you can use on your systems, even though you may need to change browsers to get it working correctly. -
Quote:I'll accept Copacabana, especially since it's been a while since I saw any Barry Manilow music on a jukebox.Frickit!! Fixed again.
Though the Holy Book of Wiki lists the song as Copacabana and I'm listing it as such.
All fixed now. Thanks. -
Quote:NOW they are all corrected. Okay. Enjoy sleep.
Thanks for the corrections. Brain still not fully functioning properly with it being so late and my sleep schedule being all wonky. All fixed!
Yeah, talk about sleep schedule being wonky, I'm STILL wide awake after getting up at 7 Monday morning. -
I know it was a Crossfire system. Someone else told me it was using X2 cards.
Yes, water effects and bloom are no longer a problem for us.
Dark Watcher says my 4850 HD 1 Mb card will handle Ultra Mode with everything maxxed but one item, and unfortunately my swiss cheese memory won't let me recall the name of that feature.
Ken Morse was the one that initially gave me the good news that I'd been watching it on a Crossfire rig. I had asked him about it since I was wondering if I'd need to start saving now to be able to afford a new nVidia card before Beta started, but my ATI card will be fine. The next generation of ATI cards should show even more shiny stuffs. -
Glad you and Somber were able to make it Manoa. TJ would have been a sad puppy without you two there.
It's a shame Jay and his acolyte got so much attention for adding a few new faces while BackAlleyBrawler (on the same panel) was practically ignored for his Power Customization work. I hope he enjoyed the Margarita during Sunday's closing panel. He looked like he was enjoying it at least.
Just thinking about that otter backpack has my side hurting again frojm too much laughter.
Thanks for the photo link.
A few minor corrections:
All corrected now. -
Quote:This makes me happy. Wondering exactly how many of the new settings will work with my HD4850. I can already maintain 60+ FPS with max settings on my rig so I'm guessing I should be able to handle ultra mode without taking a real noticeable hit.Quote:This is interpreting info I got from TJ second-hand, but his question was how his card (the 4850 HD 1MB) would handle all the settings at max settings, so I'd figure since it sounds like your card is the same, it'll work with all of them, just not necessarily at max settings.
Or does not running everything at max settings not count as "work with?"
I had the hardest time keeping tears out of my eyes during the demonstration of Ultra Mode, it was just that breathtaking. I seriously doubt that the posted videos carry the full impact of what we saw live. While they may be rather impressive, I think you may want to take what you've seen and imagine what it looks like cranked up to 11. -
Joe, I'm sorry to hear about Axel. My thoughts are with you and his handlers.
-
Happy Birthday vest. Miss seeing you and Miri around. Need you back in the game full time.
-
Thanks again Red. Once again you proved why you deserve the title Mr. Justice.
We need pics of that artwork posted, and the signed shirt.
Everyone on Justice needs to see the schwag. -

I think part of the problem is I always miss out on the Friday evening activities and it is hard to break into your group after that point.Quote:
Pish, that's no excuse!! This isn't high school where it's impossible to break into the cheerleaders or jock groups, we're all Justice and Justice is family. Just make your presence known and you know you'll get a hug-tackle from me!
I'm saddened that I didn't realize you were there. I was looking forward to meeting you. I don't think I've gotten the chance in previous years. -
With the addition of the Eden Base Portal (and the subsequent demise of the Hamidon Express Teleport Service) and the zone cap, it's difficult for people to broadcast in other zones as we did before and still be assured of being able to get into The Hive to participate.

Well, I know Goober made it to the airport in Houston, so I'm assuming he's safe at home. I got home around 1:30 am due to weather/flight delays. My flight to Austin from Houston left a bit over an hour late. My sister was waiting for me at the baggage carousel and we made a couple of pit stops on the way home.
Miss you all. Looking forward to next year.
