Well, leave it to eMachine to do something like putting an Atom processor in a desktop computer. Netbook or Desktop, it isn't a processor built for gaming just as that graphics chipset isn't a chipset built for gaming. 1GB of memory also isn't going to help for gaming.
As for the wireless, I'm going by reports from other players of problems and they make perfect sense to me. Even with my wired connection I'm seeing a lot more network traffic but it's a stable connection and is handling it okay. Wireless is generally running on a narrower bandwidth and the extra network traffic may be overloading the buffers in the router or just be more than the wireless adapters can handle. -
What method did you use to install the drivers?
My standard method is to first install Driver Sweeper but not run it yet. I then download the drivers from ATI but don't run them yet. Then I remove any ATI entries from Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs (for XP) or Programs and Features (Vista and 7) but don't reboot yet, open Device Manager and uninstall the Display adapter listing for my card then reboot into Safe Mode. Windows 7 tries to install drivers even in Safe Mode so I again go back to Device Manager and uninstall the Display Adapter listing for the card then run Driver Sweeper and let it remove anything ATI Display related and reboot into Windows. Cancel any new hardware wizards that may come up. Windows 7 auto installs the default drivers so I uninstall them again from Device Manager but don't reboot. At that point, I run the driver installation I downloaded previously and let it install everything then reboot.
Now, I did have an oddity today when I did this in that the Catalyst Control Center didn't install. I tried doing a Repair Installation with the Catalyst Install Manager but with no success. So, I downloaded the standalone installer for the CCC from the ATI driver page and ran that and everything worked and listed correctly.
Perhaps something didn't install correctly for you? -
Well, that was why I surmised QA. I know that NCSoft has, or at least had, part of their QA team in Austin.
Tech Support maybe? -

Here's my latest. I looked at my registry entries and ShaderDetail is at 3. Not sure what's going on.

And now it shows as High, even though that wasn't one of the settings I changed earlier. All I changed was turning FSAA to 2x instead of Off. Curiouser and curiouser. -
This may get a little long and ramble a bit, but bear with me, please.
I’d really like to get some input from both the artists that frequent this section of the forums and from those that have commissioned art in the past (especially those that have gone through the commission process rather often).
I’m finally starting to have some artwork done of my main character and namesake, Texas Justice. Being new to the commissioning process I’ve made a few mistakes and with the guidance of some friends I’m trying to use it as a learning process so that I can (hopefully) not make the same mistakes in the future. For one thing, I didn’t realize how detailed I need to be in what I’m looking for, items that are essential to me, the various stages of the process (getting roughs, approvals, etc.) or what information or items I may not be providing simply because it didn’t occur to me at the time that it would be needed.
With that in mind, and the information I’ve gathered as feedback from a few friends, I’ve been working on getting my reference materials and textual information together on my DA page so that I’ll be ready for commissioning more work. Here’s where I need your help. Please look at my DA Journal and Reference Gallery and see if there is anything you think I need to improve on in either area. If there are reference pieces you think I need, be as specific as possible in your descriptions. I have no artistic ability aside from music, so terminology may be foreign to me. I’m a computer tech and I think in a very logical and linear approach to most things so being as direct as possible is always the best way to give a description for me to understand.
Thanks in advance.

Out of curiosity, what options do you have set on the Compatibility tab for your CoH shortcut?
Right-click the shortcut and select Properties. Select the Compatibility tab. What is checked here?
EDIT: I know Zloth is still tweaking it to get all the I17 stuff working right, but download and run CoH Helper and post the output here. It might point us at something. -

Okay, Netbooks aren't designed for gaming. I've not seen anything using an Atom processor aside from Netbooks although I'm sure there may be a few.
There are known problems with the Intel graphics chipsets, especially the integrated chipsets like you have here. The 945 is an older model chipset at that.
Zloth has luckily updated his CoH Helper program to be I17 compliant. You can download it from here, run it, then paste the results into a reply. I'm not sure if it will give any more information but it will let us see some of the game settings as well. It will also show the driver date and version of your graphics chipset driver.
As a side note, a lot of people are reporting problems with I17 that may be related to wireless connections. Try disabling the wireless connection and connecting the "computer" using an ethernet cable and see if that helps any. -
The pigg files contain information needed by the game. I know some is artwork, some are the world textures, and there are likely others. Since pigg diving is illegal, I've not done it myself.
Start the updater but don't click anything yet. Click the button that says "Verify Files" and let it run through it's verification. If it finds anything bad it will fix those files. If it continues to happen, I'd run a full hard disk scan as your hard drive may be failing or starting to get some problem areas. -
Quote:Wait, you are telling someone asking for you to provide information that was requested hours ago and still hasn't been provided to be logical about it so we cold start somewhere?I asked a general question as to if anyone had an idea of why a C drive would show as it being FULL when nothing is loaded on a pc other than CoH. If anyone has had it happen or knew of it happening.
Now, please, don't reply any more because you apparently can't respond without stupid suggestions. If all you can do is throw out ideas, that's fine. But be logical about it so we could start somewhere. No need to be an ***. So, go be stupid somewhere else for post counts. Thank you, that is all.
BZB, no it didn't. It just said that his pc didn't have the memory to req'd to update the game. When i went to the C drive propeties, the pie chart was full and said he didnt have any FREE SPACE left. If it takes some type of print out, ill just let him deal with it because i dont have access to it and he dont come to the forums. Thanks.
That's exactly what we are asking you to do, be logical about it so we can start somewhere. I could throw out guesses all day long that may or may not be correct but would be valid guesses, but if I have a bit of information that is easily obtained it makes it much easier to diagnose issues. I don't waste my time shaking a Magic 8-Ball when trying to help people with computer problems, it's not a productive use of my time.
No need to slam Memphis Bill, he's said the same thing I'd have said. We are both professionals and get paid to help people with computer problems.
Had you provided the information asked for, we might have been able to pinpoint the cause of the problem in a matter of minutes. Instead, it's been several hours since we asked for that information and we still haven't gotten it.
As Memphis Bill says, when I'm getting paid for it I have to put up with the lack of response to a certain degree at least, but when I'm trying to help someone for free I don't have to continue if people refuse to provide the information requested.
It's not like we asked you to pry open the case, disconnect all the cables, remove the hard drive and give us the Product ID code from the label. The information asked was was extremely easy to find, and Aggelakis even gave a link to a program that would have provided all of that information and more.
Since you want to be rude to the people trying to help you, my part of this is ended here. And don't bother responding, I won't be able to see your posts. That way I don't waste my time in the future.
Good day. -
Some have reported that setting FSAA at 2x or 4x instead of Off has helped them.
Lower the World Detail to 100% instead of 200%, that should help you out a bit. -

That graphics chipset is rather low end and is not designed for gaming so it won't support the higher levels of UM.
You can see where this graphics chipset falls (2nd page) on a Graphics Card Hierarchy chart from March found here.
Being a laptop, you likely can't upgrade the graphics chipset and even if you could it would likely be a lower end chipset as well. -
There is also a totally unsupported command that you can put at the end of the shortcut to CoH to enable SLI.
-
Yes, update the driver if you can. I'm not sure if Asus blocks normal driver installations like some OEM's do.
Also, lower some of the graphics settings, the 3200 is a relatively lower level chipset.
Here's a Hierarchy chart from March. I haven't seen a newer one posted. Notice that the 3200 doesn't show up until the second page of the chart. -
You are going to have to give a bit more information.
What said he didn't have enough memory? What shows his hard drive is full? Memory and Hard drive are NOT the same thing.
What version of Windows is he using?
What is the exact error message that he's getting? -
Can you give us some information that might help when trying to troubleshoot the problem?
What OS are you using, including Service Packs if any and whether it is 32-bit or 64-bit?
What video card/onboard graphics solution are you using?
What version of the video drivers are you using?
How much memory does your computer have?
Is this a desktop or laptop? Is it a brand name computer or no-name build? If it is a brand name computer, what brand and model?
I'll be glad when Zloth finishes the new UM capable version of CoH Helper so that I can point people to it and get the information needed from that program.
Hopefully, it will be finished today. -
They were trying NOT to make a change in the experience for those with older systems, but sometimes things occur that aren't planned.
They are working to get this resolved but they need the players to work with them in order to find all of the problems and HOW to resolve them.
