I'll forgive you this once for forgetting who you were speaking to.

I'll give you some visual reminders.

That was from the first Freedom Player Summit during the Sunday Breakfast run we did. The place we went to for Saturday breakfast wasn't worth wasting a picture on. Very disappointing Bacon Waffles there.

This was from the Saturday breakfast during the Spring 2012 FPS. The Maple Syrup was a homemade syrup that was a gift from a player that got stranded in NYC at the airport during the first FPS. Turgenev insisted that I be given one of the bottles of syrup since he wouldn't be there.

This was from the Sunday breakfast during the Spring 2012 FPS. Are we sensing a pattern to my breakfast choices?
  2. Most of the original TF's were written by people that had never written a TF before.

It was a fairly new concept at the time for them, and they really didn't have anything to look at in other games to base it on.

From what I've been told over the years by various Devs, many of those TF's had a very simple outline as far as plot with basically a very broad premise, one or two "bullet points" to make during the story and a vaguely wording ending scenario. Sometimes they were even told an approximate number of missions to include.

Positron told us at one of the HeroCon's that the Positron Task Force was one of the first things he wrote for the game. I spoke to Posi and Hero 1 after one of the panels and asked that they please rewrite it. The answer I was given was that they preferred to do new content and not re-do existing content.

I think this was a stock answer they had ready since they had either already done the rewrite or had it planned to do. When the new 2 part Posi hit Beta I fumed a bit but realized they really couldn't have said anything at that time.

But that is likely one of the reasons they aren't going back and rewriting some of the old TF's like Citadel. They'd prefer to only rework it when they have something new to introduce in it, like when they changed Sister Psyche's TF to the Penny Yin TF due to Sister's death.

Changes to the Clockwork King due to adding Penny to the Phalanx could be the impetus in the future to rewrite the Synapse TF. I'm not sure what it would take to get a rewrite of Citadel.

I'll wait for Father Xmas on the power supply. He's got sites that give detailed reports on power supplies.

One thing I did note in your CoH Helper report is that you have Ambient Occulusion turned to Ultra. I'd recommend turning it to OFF.

AO is extremely resource intensive and I'm not even sure if the 9800 GT can handle AO.

Anything else I noted would be more minor issues that should still be resolved such as low disk space percentages on some of your drives and a large number of programs running at startup that don't need to be running and only eat up resources. If they are needed the program they are associated with will launch them when it runs.

You are correct. They have defined it as at least 30 days of inactivity.

And even though the Forum Rules and Guidelines are linked at the top of every page, since you asked so nicely, I'll comply and provide the quote.

From the section on Rule #5.

Oh sure, give Ironblade the credit for pointing that out.

I'm sure it wasn't the first line of my post.

A defender who chooses Empathy as a primary seems to be expected to predominantly use the primary and pitch in a bit here and there with the secondary. Fair enough, that's always been what I've thought.

However, with a controller who chooses Empathy as a primary, the expectation seems to be the reverse.

I have seen some folks ridiculed in public channels for being a controller who focuses on the primary and only choosing certain powers from the secondary.

I can understand a melee toon wanting/expecting certain buffs. I know I quite like Adrenaline Boost, and Fortitude is ok for some of the more challenging mobs. The Recov and Regen Auras are also nice.

But, seriously expecting someone with emp secondary to get every secondary power? Is that the expectation?
Sometimes I don't get every primary power with my melee toons - choosing fight pool and leadership for maneuvers - yet, I've never had any support toons fuss at me for not getting one power over another.
(although, I don't think I've ever passed up fire shield or burn on any of my fiery armor toons.)

I've played an empath defender before to level 50+3 with t-4 in all and never had anyone take an issue for me leaving absorb pain out. Yet, I play my controller and it seems to be a different story.

I do know that with some powersets, there are powers that most folks who "know what they are doing" consider must haves, and that others are skippable.

I also know that some players think a blaster is crazy for going into melee (to use Drain Psyche, for example) when the AT is designed to be played at range. Me, I think Drain Psyche is awesome. I know that for a fire tank or */fire brute, the idea of skipping burn after issue 18 seems ludicrous to me.

Is a controller skipping Absorb Pain that much of a faux pas?
First off, Empathy is s secondary for Controllers, not a Primary as you stated in the bolded part above.

Second, who cares what other players say about your power choices?

Are you having fun playing the character? If yes, go to next question, if not then stop playing it, rework the build or reroll as something you find fun.

Are you effective with how you play your character (not according to someone else's standards but according to your own standards)? If yes, go to next question, if not then stop playing it, rework the build or reroll as something you find fun.

Why are you bothering to let other people's comments about YOUR character or the way you play YOUR character affect you?
  14. What is the brand and rating on your power supply?

All power supplies are NOT created equal.

And as Red Valkyrja pointed out, DXDiag isn't as helpful as CoH Helper as that also gives us things that DXDiag doesn't.

A HiJackThis report would be helpful as well.
  15. I've logged on to both of my accounts in the past few minutes.

For CoH accounts you log in with your username and password. The email address login is for Aion and Lineage II accounts.

Remember, it is asking for the Master Account username and password, not the game account username and password.

Those are not always the same thing.

  17. When they give codes away directly to a person they aren't a free-for-all code as to who enters it first.

They give individual codes to each person. No one else gets the same code you get.

As others said, send Z a polite PM and I'm sure he'll rectify the matter.

The person Forbin was replying to was incorrectly claiming that simul-click missions happen in arcs but that wasn't what Forbin was referring to or else he wouldn't have brought up AE.

Since, after all, there are no Story Arcs in AE.

He also said that the only regular content mission he remembered where there were simul-clicks was changed years ago. I pointed out that he his memory was faulty since there are regular content missions with that occurence.

Your memory must be failing you then Forbin.

There are still a few simultaneous click missions in regular content.

The thing is, they are clearly labled as needing X number of people. Most of them need one other person and they say things like you need "at least three teammates" (four objectives) or "a couple of teammates" (three objectives) or "a teammate" (2 objectives) or "at least one teammate" (2 objectives).

If you rush by and don't read closely, you miss it thinking it's one of the "this is going to be hard, you might want to bring friends" warning.

I have yet to find a mission that requires a team that does not state how many friends you need to bring in the mission offering even if the wording is "a friend".

    Missions such as the following:

Stop the Rikti Raid and destroy the Council's files from Phillipa Meraux 2

Check out the caverns from Eliza Thorpe 2

Go to the office, prevent the fire from starting and rescue the people that are being held by the Family (a Common random Hero mission given out in the 25-29 range). 3

Stop Nemesis' Macro Assembler from Anton Sampson 4

There may be others but a quick search on ParagonWiki for "simultaneously" showed me these.

Actually, I'm pretty sure it IS being done by a Dev. Noble Savage did the art for the redesign of Penny Yin and I'm fairly certain he did the splash page (and the associated forum art) as well.

Here's a link to his Penny Yin piece from his DA page. He also explains a lot of the choices for the costume and coloring.

He also has a few Key Art pieces listed in his DA Gallery including the previous splash screen of Statesman. I using one of the other Key Art pieces as my Test Server splash screen at home.

He also has the "cover art" from each of the SSA Ep.1 chapters, his art from the comic at the beginning of the tutorial and other design work there in his CoH: Freedom Gallery.

He has some of his cover art from the old CoH comic in his Cover Art Gallery and some of the marker sketches he's done for players over the years in a different gallery. Sketches similar to the one you see as my forum avatar (other players often do this using his sketches as well).

Jeans, a T-Shirt and biker gloves don't cut it for the look they had in mind for her.

It appears that you have the Date format set to something other than the MM/DD/YYYY format used in the US.

I can't see the driver dates for that reason and can't recall the driver version numbers of the last driver that worked on that old of a video card.

There are no Windows 7 (or Windows Vista) drivers for that card listed on the ATI site. I can find the Windows Vista Legacy Drivers by doing some searches through Google and these "should" work on Windows 7. I don't have a card that old to test it with however. The 10.2 Legacy drivers can be found here and the 9.11 drivers can be found here. When I was still testing on XP using a 9650 I had better luck with the 9.11 drivers than the 10.2 drivers. At one time I had a copy of the 10.1 Legacy driver that worked well but I lost it due to forgetting to save it before wiping a computer.

As always, follow proper driver installation procedures by uninstalling the existing drivers, reboot into Safe Mode, run Driver Sweeper to remove the leftovers from the uninstall, reboot into normal mode and install the drivers.
  22. I copied a few over the same day with no issues.

I'm not at a location where I can access Beta to test it right now.

It does award the Points, it just doesn't front load them. I think the Paragon Points are awarded at the end of the month or on the 28th. I can't recall which date mine were awarded and it's been long enough that it's not showing on the Previous 90 days purchases listing. The Reward Token and Transfer Token awarded earlier.
