For a seelect few enhancements, there's a 20% chance of doing some extra damage (smashing/lethal/negative energy/etc) -- is there a place that actually lists how much that damage turns out to be....I guess when maxed out on a level 50 (assuming it isn't flat and scales with level)?
Thanks! -
Slickhawk, katana/regen scrapper, dinged 50 on 1/18/2010 -- my first 50 in nearly 58 months of play....

good to go although someone scheduled a hami raid for this evening as well. If the teams do well, we can probably go save their bacon afterwards ( ' :

Slickhawk will join if there's space -- 49/50 katana/regen scrapper.

PUH-leeeeze. ACORN is the special community organization arm of Nemesis and primarily responsible for getting Obama elected.
Fortunately, something as natural as belching isn't a nemesis plot. -
Quote:Of course bumping this thread is a nemesis plot -- you're a spy for nemesis and bumping it continues to distract us from the impending doom that is the nemesis invasion. DIABOLICAL!(The fact that I have to bump this thread is probably a Nemesis Plot!)
Thank goodness something as enjoyable as kickball isn't a nemesis plot. -
Excellent, thanks so much! ( ' :
Further reading, this was EXACTLY what I was seeking -- thank you thank you! Is this stickied somewhere because it really should be if it isn't. -
of all of the various stat caps somewhere? Recharge speed, defense, interrupt times, etc? I'm looking for a reference so that I really don't overload particular options when slotting out level 50enhs.
Thanks! -
Quote:It takes time, money and lots of scientists to craft a surprise attack on an alien homeworld...at least it did in X-Com (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pX0Cm3N_n6k)Can someone refresh my memory again about why we aren't taking the battle to the Rikti Homeworld?
Yeah, I know the garbage that the Freedom Phalanx has spewed in regards to this, but how many times are we going to let them attack the City before we put at stop to it at the source?
Let's make it clear that we are ready to take the battle to their Homeworld and see how much they like seeing their civilians attacked! -
Slickhawk -- 49.5 kata/regen scrapper -- will join and exemp down, possibly earning the coveted 50th level (my first) during it.

What would you suggest to replace the uberweapon instead of a giant mekman?
Also, not blimps -- zeppelins! ( ' :
I'm a fan of all out conventional war against the nat-zees. -
From personal experience, NOT force fields -- assuming you do not have reliable partying options.

How does that data reflect the changeover in subscription cards from game-specific to the more generic ncsoft time-cards?

Quote:Welcome to the game!Ooh! Very handy!
Erh, well... A build I guess.
It doesn't have to be super detailed yet. I'm still trying to figure this whole "IO" and "DO" stuff out, so I'd probably not understand what I was told anyway.
But that said, I do like me my numbers when looking at stuff.
I found your damage breakdowns and such most helpfull!
What I'm wondering is, with Arch/Traps my main issue seems to be what powers to pick, when, and how many slots I should aim for...
Slotting I'll figure out as I go, but with my complete lack of funding, respec'ing and reslotting is a costly affair... So wasting 6 slots in a power I then wont need is a pain...
As is waiting 8 lvl's before picking a power I should have had all along, because I mistakenly mistook it's value...
So, yeah... Things like that I guess. What should I aim for in these sets, and are there certain powers I simply must have, asap, to make my life easier?
I guess you can include travel sets if you feel so inclined... I certainly wouldn't mind!
Honestly, I don't think you should pressure yourself too much on what the first build will be like for a few reasons. First, this is a game of alts. Unlike most other games, this is all about the journey and the combinations of powersets are numerous. Second, mistakes are relatively easily to recover from, whether it be from enhancement slotting or power picking. How so? Well, there are quests to respec as well as respec tokens you can earn as your subscription endures. Also, you can switch to a second build (although it will be a blank slate enhancment-wise). Finally, money (influence) comes realtively easily nowadays so you can repurchase certain enh's easily.
As far as slotting goes, really it comes down to decisions like...do you want to maximize damage or the frequency you can attack? Perhaps there's a focus on secondary effects. As a blaster, locking down your targets is preferable.
Travel powers? some people like super speed to zip away. Others, like myself, prefer flight and hover in order to watch battles unfold from above (and unobstructed) but it's really all about character concept.
If there's one biggie that most players pick up (except for /regen folks), it's the fitness power pool in order to get Stamina (for better endurance management).
Best of luck and enjoy. ( ' : -
Quote:And while you're at it....you can potentially find the dvd edition of CoH at an odd lot for 9.99... I actually have 4 of them sitting around unopened. ( ' :The most practical solution is to compromise and get them all.
First, get the Architect edition. You will have a choice of the Magic Booster or the Super Science Booster (but not the Martial Arts pack). And that will effectively cost you negative $5 ($20 minus the $15 worth of game time, minus the $10 booster that is included). Then go ahead and purchase the Ninja pack while you are at it.
Then when you are ready for more, purchase the Mac edition which will again ultimately cost negative $5 ($20 minus $15 game time minus the $10 Valkyrie pack), and then treat yourself to whichever other $10 booster you didn't get with the AE.
Ah, and almost forgot to recommend the GvE version as well. If you shop carefully, you can score that one for effectively a negative amount like the others. -
Not sure if it was mentioned but if you buy the Architect Edition, you can choose either the tech or magic booster for free...effectively a 4.99 savings given there's a free month of sub in the box.
FWiW, i snagged the magic booster from that and bought ninja. Ninja run is fun, but I don't use it that often -- the pack as a whole is nice. Compared to the wedding pack (which I haven't bought), wedding is very overpriced.
edit: ooops, apparebtly it was mentioned ( ' : -
Thoughts...
GREAT for security but, as a general rule, it's a PITA currently to keep track of all the various security questions I have to keep straight for online transactions. Now, factor in potentially physical devices I have to manage as in sheer quantity or conivenience if I'm away from home...ugh. That's the user-side.
From a corporate side, fobs can hinder the possibility of instant gratification of online sales and immediately playing. -
Quote:Considering there was basically a 2 week window between Niviene's post and getting some of those updates (web page, which still isn't fully updated, and gmotd), it's not unreasonable for people to ask. If she can't do it herself, she should also talk to those people to get it done. Yes, yes, christmas break but still....Keep in mind that Niviene is a Forums Moderator/Administrator; not NCSoft's Webmaster, nor a Dev with access to the game databse. As such, the most she can do is send a suggestion to the right people. Harassing her to fix it is roughly the same as freaking out because they added a Walk power instead of fixing {insert non-animation related bug here}.
Theriouthly?!? This is the announcement discussion thread -- advising the community rep to make other changes which are prudent to getting the word out doesn't seem unreasonable. -
Quote:Greetings Players,
Due to server stability issues this past weekend on Virtue, Justice and Guardian we will be extending the Winter Event until January 12th 2010 for all servers.
Thank you for your continued support!
While it's nice and all to extend this, you should try updating the front page of the website, which still specifies the winter event ends on the 5th. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has come to realize they bought certain recipes earlier than they had to.
As a company policy, you can't post announcements like this exclusively to the forums and not expect to annoy people. -
Steps to addressing this --
1.) Lock out all master accounts.
2.) Stop charging play-time to players until this is resolved.
3.) Send an email and update the login page notifying players of the temporary lock out, that they are being compensated and need not worry about subscription times running out.
4.) For people trying to create new accounts, post a web page apologizing for the delay in creation and offer a free 7 day subscription code applicable to any new game code or game update code.
5.) Squash the problem. -

I won't lie and say I wouldn't mind a 10:30 team (especially after missing the manticore tf by about 15ish minutes last night) but I don't think you should compromise your enjoyment either, particularly since you're one of the prime organizers. If you declare an official 10:30 time too, I can forsee the 10 pm grew potentially getting hosed due to the mindset of "well, i can still make the 10:30". I think if you want to satisfy most people, you should try to encourage over-registration -- just getting people together in a timely fashion overcomes a huge obstacle.
