  1. There really isn't a bad brute secondary (yes even EA).

    They all have strengths and weaknesses, and when fully IO'd they can all solo at +2x8 with little difficulty.

    Thought I have to say the one handed KM animations you get with shield look really dumb.

    Elecs problem isn't AoE though. Its pisspoor for single target damage, lacking a tier3 blast.
    Note that Short Circuit has an ACC bonus equal to 1 Sos worth of slotting,
    Also with Ios you can max out damage, recharge and Drain with no really stress.

    I don't have time to do (or look for) the math but if you factor in sparky(and ignore its stupidity) Elec's single target damage is actually a slgight bit ahead of NRG blast. But its rightly noted that Voltaic Sentinel is REALLY unreliable.

    I also admit that its Energy Manipulation's interplay that makes my elec blaster so good. (nearly perma powerboost ftw).
  3. I just want to point out:

    The forums overstate the difference in sets.

    Yes Elec Blast Lags behind a bit in single target, but its quite competative in aoe (Note elecs aoes are all 16 Targets).

    Personally I find it performs outstandingly on a blaster (though I pair it with NRG Manipulation to fill in the Single Target DPS issue, and to one shot drain anything I target via Powerboost).
  4. My main blaster is Elec/EM.

    I LOVE elec on a blaster, but it kinda blows on a corruptor.

    EDIT:

    On my blaster I have powerboost nearly perma, this allows me a 1 shot drain nearly anytime I want.
    I have my Melee secondary to pump up my Single target DPS.
    And Aim AND build up cannot hurt.

  10. The trapper is the stronger of the two hands down.

    Anyone who suggests a trapper should bring the mobs to them, is playing the set wrong.

    I would gladly enjoy a race through a x8 +3 map, bosses on against a TA/ice vs my traps/ice. We can even choose mobs that don't mez so the TA has a chance.

  12. I have tried to do this TF multiple times, and every time it gets stuck on the second to last mission because a MOB spawns under the map.

    From what the playerbase tells me its been like this for QUITE SOME TIME.

    So why again was it chosen for the WTF?

  15. This build seems rather strange.

    You are playing an elec blaster without Short Circuit.
    Your electric fences is unlsotted (Its a defiance attack and great -recovery..)
    You take voltaic sentinel very late (without it elecs damage is pitiful single target, and its a 20% defiance boost).

    Honestly what this looks like to me:

    You are trying to shoehorn elec blast into someting it isn't. Why not play a superior primary that does what you want without any strange sacrafices.

    Head size conceded, but was likely time constrained, they could also have run out of poly budget.

    Basically all your complaints are the result of:

    Engine limitations,
    Time limitations
    Cost/Benefit limitations.

    Sorry dude there is just not enough time in the world to have made a pack that would clear that list of yours.

    it was absolutely ridiculous. Did you know that eight powerboosted ball lightnings is enough to drain a purple boss?

    I run a Fire melee/Energy Aura, which I rolled looking for the weakest set possible to run.

    I was surprized when at the end of the day I got a toon that:
    • Keeps its softcap down to level 20,
    • is Even deeper softcapped at 50,
    • has no energy issues whatsoever,
    • has a 1000 Point Plus Self heal when surrounded by foes.
    • has a practially crashless BEST T9 in the game.
    • effortlessly farms Malta, Carnies, Rogue Mu, Longbow, Ascended PPD
    • has 25% ranged defense to fill the Psi/toxic hole. (Popping lucks or a team fills it to cap).

    The forums will tell you that Energy Aura is the bottom performer.
    I won't argue against that, but I can tell you that EA performs very well and you can do all the content in the game with it no problem, and when IO'd its performance impresses.
  20. I run an Arachnos Blaster on my huntsman's build.

    He has 21% defense aura and both the 5% pet aura uniques giving the two disruptors and the blaster 31% ranged defense. They are also up perma (though like 2 seconds downtime on the blaster).


    Works quite nice.
  21. With the loss of the Mag 4 stun, this power now lowers your DPS, without providing any real benefit.
    I can use Nrg Punch, and Bone Smasher in the time this power animates.

    Can anyone give me a compelling reason to keep this in my High recharge blaster build (175% recharge)?
  22. Cloaks generaly don't suppress.

    It gives 3.75% defense base, and its stealth does not suppress in combat.
  23. I just rolled a new Elec/Nrg Manip blaster, its up to 39.

    Gotten plenty of teams.


    The only thing I am worried about are the weaker ATs (stalkers), combos, and Percived low value toons (What? You aren't a RAD/KIN? BOOT-TAKADOOSH!!!)getting teams on raids.

    I can see the "turnstile" filled with people who can't get into preformed leagues because the playerbase just doesn't value what they chose to play.

    Its a minor worry though.
