I *will* be reporting posts like this to the mods. I've seen far too many of them turn very nasty and hurtful to the people who suffer from these graphics to have any real tolerance for them.

I'll also ask those who DO have these problems not to respond to those people. Ignore them or /ignore them. Don't let it turn into a fight. It doesn't help get the problem resolved.
Its not a fight, and last I checked stating a valid solution isn't a violation of the ToS.

    Health>Hobby, imo.

    Demonstrably false.

If you meant that Corruptors couldn't be softcapped to all vectors and types without major sacrifices, maybe, I've not tried. That's not what you said, however.
I can't open your build as I am at work, But depending on what you skipped, I might still say you made sacrafices on things I deem important.

Basically my point is Corrupters cannot achive the levels of survival that defenders can. Just not possible.

Both Types of traps are great, corrupters are tough and do the best damage, Defenders are significantly more tough, and do ok damage (solo).
  4. I have a Traps/Ice with 115% global rechage recharge, that is softcapped to All types and positions quite deeply without scorpion shield, and has FORCE OF NATURE 50/50 uptime/downtime.

My ranged defense alone is able to handle Trial enemies, 1 purple caps the rest of vectors and types to trial enemies.

Lets be clear: Softcapped to All types and Vectors > Smash, Lethal, Energy.
That with the superior Triage Beacons, Better Damage and to hit debuffing with Seeker Drones (which I can double stack easily) my defender will survive things that would chew up your Corruptor.

What happens when you run into mobs that don't use smash, Lethal or energy? Are you 60% to Smash, Lethal and Energy (I assume so with FFG I hope)?

    My point stands.

For Traps the main advantage of the Defender is actually the Defense. FFG gives about 5% more defense for a Defender (assuming ED capped enhancements) which is a pretty significant boost.
This and the Pool powers are superior for defenders, Making softcapping them a joke with little negatives, while corruptors will struggle and make many sacrafices such as no permahasten.
  6. There is no reason to stay a pure villian.

Go Rogue, most of the content is geared to heroes anyway.
  7. But guys, Stalkers are fine and about where the devs want them power wise.
Any issues they have are not AT but systemic.

None of these Improvements are necessary.

I know its a bug by this point. But going on what you mentioned:

If the they inteded a power that I PAYED FOR not to be available to me throughout the game, they should have clearly outlined that this power would not be available to me in future content, before I PAYED FOR it.

    Just saying.
  9. Yeah no one takes sleeps but I do.

Can anyone tell me if the GFX for Flash Freeze are working correctly?

I can't seem to customize the color, and when used on Mobs, the ice FX appear for like 1 second, then disappear.

The sleep works but there are no graphics to indicate the mobs are slept.

Is this intended? I want to find out before submitting a bug report.

If you want lots of damage, on the other hand, you might try Archery. You get Blazing Arrow (one of the best Defender ST attacks) and Rain of Arrows (the best Defender AoE), though the Lethal damage can be annoying vs bots. Ice could work too... Ice Storm isn't as good as Rain of Arrows but Frost Breath hits harder than most cones and cold isn't resisted that much. AR could also be a decent choice if you can live with really bad single target damage but more AoEs. Avoid Dark Blast like the plague though... it's one of the lowest damage blast sets. Dark is a lot of fun if you like debuffing, but actually killing things can be a pain.
    Dark's aoe damage is competative.

Its single target lags a bit.
  12. Can someone answer this question before I respec out of Super speed in all my builds?

Are Ninja/Beast run supposed to be working or not in trials.

Today when trying to do lambda on my SS toons I couldn't participate effectively because I could not reach the turrets. I could normally reach the turrets by using ninja/beast run.

But today 90% of the time they were flickering on and off.

I assume the devs changed something last patch. SO what is the outcome.

Beast/Ninja run, powers that i PAID for, will be disabled in the future content of the game?

    Or is this a bug?
  13. Looking through the set it looks like they are all decent powers.

I mean outside of the standout Thorntrops, all the powers look Middling/Decent, I guess that is Thorns thing.

What do you guys suggest I skip?

Just want to point out: Ice storm on a defender won't scatter that much. The mobs can barely move with that and caltrops.

Fortunata psi/ranged attacks are simply statistically weaker than the widow claw attacks. Overall in the game, melee attacks have a moderate to large advantage statistically over ranged attacks, depending on what sets you're comparing. This is especially true for some reason with psionic damage type attacks, which tend to do less damage by design, perhaps as some kind of balancing factor for their debuffing or the control extras in most psi powersets, or perhaps for their damage type, which in the original design of the game was supposed to be less-resisted.

However, psi damage is not really less-resisted, especially in the end-game. Instead, numerous enemies basically 'shut down' psi damage, such as robots and zombies, and carnies. A few enemies are resistant to physical damages but not psi damage, but other than ghosts and non-praetorian clockwork, nothing is especially vulnerable to it. Generally enemies that resist 'everything' like armored Rikti, Malta or Longbow, also resist Psi, and to the same degree.

Finally, widow melee attacks have been specially designed for us, whereas the psi attacks were lifted from other sets. Our melee attacks have extremely fast animations to go with their higher damage, resulting in much-improved performance over the psi attacks. I think an all-psi fortunata would struggle to reach 70% of the damage output of a melee one, just going off the fact that most of the psi attacks seem to do 70% of the DPA (Damage Per Animation Speed) of the melee ones.

Bottom line: unless you really like being ranged or really like the psi powers, or really don't care about your performance, don't be a psi fort.

Fortunatas do have other issues - the lack of mental training for a recharge boost, and the fact their mind link power has a full minute longer to recycle than night widows, does tend to make them seem and feel worse off until the end-game. Getting mind link to perma is a huge benefit to a widow, but fortunatas almost require expensive IOs to make that happen. Nightwidows can do it much more easily, much earlier, and much cheaper. This makes them far more potent characters in the mid-game and for people without large build budgets.

If you do have the budget, the fortunata's superior breadth of powers - controls and AOEs - are favored by some players. You can still be an effective fortunata without that budget, but you won't be a top tier build, whereas a nightwidow on a modest budget will be a lot closer to the top.

Hope this helps. Good luck and don't give up!
I advise you to ignore the above and look through the post history of this sub forum.

All three types of widow: Nightwidow (melee) Bloodwidow (fort/night hybrid) and Fortunata (psi ranged) are fantastic performers and lay waste to thier targets.
  16. Why you guys are arguing about hypotheticals like this, I dunno.
  17. You can GET Incanate powers on Traps defenders?

I had to pay for mine practially.

No reward in this game is worth enough for me to screw my team/league mates, so under no circumstances will I choose to help or not help my team/league mates based on what a participation algorithm says. The joke is that Fiusionette is stupid. That's really the sum total of it. And it's not even a funny "ha-ha" joke, it's a funny "NPC companion AI sucks!" joke.

Once upon a time (and possibly even now), Fiusionette's AI had her rush ahead of her companion player, aggro additional spawns, die and fail your mission. She was incredibly weak and her powers did almost no damage, turning the mission into a very annoying, very unpleasant one. Players complained, then complaints turned into parody and Fisuionette was compared to a "n00b" player. This was supposed to be funny, and so the joke began.

Because about half of Faultline's storyline is sketch comedy, the joke seemed to perpetuate, and was extended into the Rikti War Zone, where Fiusionette was officially written as a ditzy klutz with a low IQ and Faultline was written as an inexperienced nitwit who was unsure of himself. Their relationship was forwarded, as well, with then next "joke" being a botched tell from Faultline to Fiusionette where he forgets to add the slash in /t, and a comment from Fiusionette as a captive, telling the Rikti: "You just wait until my Build Up recharges!"

In general, Faultline and Fiusionette were written as a lovey-dovey couple of semi-competent class clowns with a ton of play-driven humour surrounding them, and I use the word "humour" very loosely.

Enter Fusion and Jane Temblor. They're the opposite in terms of personalities - rude, crude, arrogant and insufferable. They are, however, the same in terms of approach - incompetent and inefficient. Their relationship, instead of a kissy-huggy one, was turned into sort of a love-hate relationship as exhibited by Bonny and Clyde style couples in crime. It's no longer as adorable. It IS amusing to see them knock each other down with their finishers, though. That's funny.

Then we have Praetorian Duray teaming up with Primal Duray, for the finisher. See, Fusion and Jane are actually amusing in the way they play off each other and the way Duray plays off them. "If you've just about wrecked everything, then why am I standing on an intact highway?" "Eh! Blow it out yer ear!" Not exact quotes, obviously, but that's how it comes off.

So when Praetorian Duray complains about the incopetence of Fusion and Jane, Primal Duray quips "Just be glad they're not the local version!" in a way that makes me expect to hear that followed up with a laugh track or a rimshot. Because... Jim Temblor and Fiusionette are funny, right? Because they're both clumsy and stupid! And Fusion is a WOMAN here! Laugh, damn you!

It's out and out comedy that, rather than being funny, only manages to destroy what sense of humour I have left. Fusion and Jane are humorous enough on their own. They are humorous because they are well-written and well-acted. You don't need to throw endless references to endless player-spawned jokes. That's not humour, it's failed comedy. Especially the third time through the task force.
Sam, you need a sense of humor.

Did you also know that during the STF you run into a villian team trying to earn thier respec?

Or that during the Vincent ross Arc, You (as a villian) wipe out a Hero Task Force?

They are clever light jokes. I find them enjoyable.

Isn't is known that the "Participation Weight" is based on the same system used in the Praetorian open missions?

    As per Castle:

    Quote:
"Damage, in itself, is not part of the reward criteria. Otherwise, we'd have situations where Scrapper vs. Defender would almost always yield smaller rewards for the defender.

The guys who built the scoring system have gone to extreme lengths to ensure that everyone who is actively participating gets a fair share of the rewards. "
So doesn't this say activations, on Mobs per second is the thing?
    • Large aoes with short activaiton times: Good
    • Single Target attacks with short Activaiton times: Good
    • IO'd High recharge builds: Good
    • Pet activations (other than inital cast): No Credit.
    • Pseudo Pet activaitons (other than intial cast): No Credit.
I would HATE to be paying a MM/Traps right now.
