Quote:I actually have an easier time Softcapping Typed.Still wont play it due to it being typed defense which is alot harder to build for the soft cap than positional. Besides its not like they are going to re-order the powerset to make the heal come sooner in the set.
My KM/EA has softcap to all but Psi and perma hasten right now. -
Friend, he listed both the regen, and the 50% heal.
Aren't we losing the drain heal in exchange for energize's regen, pal? -
Quote:We are losing the heal buddy. With the new changes /EA is going to be BALLER.
Mark my words.
+recharge boost?
+defense boost
moderately improved resists
50% hp heal
+200% regen which you can stack with health, physical perfection and rebirth
added taunt aura
And still being one of the best secondary's in the game for endurance management as well as arguably having the best tier 9 power Overload in the game? I have Unstoppable, Power Surge etc and I can tell you having basically dull pain+elude in 1 is superb.
How is this not awesome?
/SR what? Oh, defense buff resist. That's great. -
-
This may shock you: But some of us play below 50.

Quote:Tough cookies. You can always team with a Ice armor stalker and enjoy it through them though!Stalkers are villains
Villains get crapped on
I'm sure SOME stalkers somewhere have asked for Ice Armor, but not near as vocal about it as Brutes. I'm cool with Regen, since I know it's been requested a LOT by the brute community, but with us having WP (which imo is BETTER than Regen, out of the box, anyway) we should have got Ice before Stalkers.
We could have BOTH been given Ice Armor, but for the love of GOD I don't want them to have a chance to gut the set before it's given to us.
I'm not totally ungrateful as I said. We did get 1.5 nice sets (Kat = Broadsword) and an energy aura revamp to appease the minority that actually HAS an Energy Aura brute, but ice is deserved, now more so than ever.
I have an EA brute btw, but I will be focusing on my EA stalker isntead. -
Quote:My KM/EA unlimited budget stalker already is softcapped to all but Psionics, with permahasten and 5 unused slots placed in Conserve power. My DM/EA Brute is already soft-capped to Sm, Le, En and has nearly 40% to Fire and Cold. This settles it, I'm turning her into my main tanking character.
STRONG AND PRETTY FOREVER!!
I am ready to move my 5xDoctored Woulds to Energize, Reslot Energy Drain with Red Fortune, and Drop hasten (if the recharge built into the set is 20%) and take the new stun aura.
Should be pretty devestating.
Though I really hope they change the FX for Repulse... Good lord its ugly. -
I also want to point out:
EA HAS NEEDED MORE WORK FOR YEARS.
Yet it only gets a revamp due to being ported to a Hero AT.
Hilarious way to keep the "Devs hate villians" thing going
-
Dude stalkers get crapped on so much, they deserve this.
-
I agree since EA was based on Ice Armor to begin with.
The Stun aura looks intersting for stalkers, and I may drop hasten for it depending on how much constant recharge they give stalkers (seeing as we don't get the taunt aura mechanic). -
The EA changes are pretty interesting.
I am going to have to completely redesign my Unlimited Budget KM/EA stalker now won't I.
This combined with my Reroll of my Traps/Ice/Power Defender to Traps/Fire/Power Is going to severely stress my budgets.
Damn you synaspse for giving me things to do.
DAMN YOU!!!!!

WHAT? I just found out about this!
Where is this linked from? -
The list provided by the devs was not a complete list.
I am sure there are quite a few suprizes that will players smile...
Old and new. -
Quote:Either way, that makes two Non stalkers sets that have the combat stealth thing. It doesn't suppress, and to my knowledge (admittedly, I started in i7) never has. If you want you can go poke around at the link - City of Data lists the conditions that the powers suppress under, and both Energy Cloak and Cloak of Darkness have the same conditions. Now, Gauntlet will prevent the stealth from being useful at all, so the part about Tankers was mostly just being snarky. However a Scrapper or Brute running Cloak of Darkness will have the same ability to minimize their own personal aggro that a Brute running Energy Cloak has.
Why doesn't Hide have combat stealth? -
Quote:I mean Stealth. Not any other effect.Dark Armor has unsuppressed PvE stealth, the same amount that Energy Cloak provides, in Cloak of Darkness. Really, Energy Cloak is a weaker version of Cloak of Darkness, since it doesn't provide +perception with all other numbers being equal.
So since Cloak of Darkness is better than Energy Cloak, and due to AT modifiers affecting the strength of the other effects of the power, Tankers have the best melee stealth*.
* - if you accept that unsuppressing stealth is better regardless of the amount of stealth provided; either way, game-wide it's Controllers because Superior Invisibility has a higher radius than Hide and also doesn't suppress.
I am quite certain an EA can engage one group, while nearish another and the other group will just ignore the fight.
Cloak of Darkness' stealth did in fact suppress.
I currently do not have a functional Dark armor toon to test it though, so I admit I may be out of date information wise. -
Quote:Actually brutes have the best melee stealth in the EA set. It's fun to sneak around maps and to hit things from Hide? Even a scrap with layered stealth really can't do that as well as a Stalker. I know... I have a few "sneaky scrappers", too.
We're not all in this to be power-players, you know.
Combat stealth in energy cloak > hide. -
I have 4 level 50 stalkers and a new KM/EA upcoming all with builds that 95%of the player base could not afford.
Leo we have had this conversation, and you know I am firmly in the "Assassin's strike is useless camp." (It does make a good place for minimum level kinetic combat though)
Stalkers are supposed to be the masters of burst damage (again I think scrappers do it just as well if not better...), how does a set that is based on ramping up attack speed over time fit with the burst damage concept?
It just doesn't, so I can see the devs pulling another shield defense on the stalker AT. -
Maybe the devs can give stalkers Super Strength when they give the better loved/developed Melee ATs Titan Weapons.
And leave rage in for godsake. -
So I have been reading up on this new set, and how it will use a new "momentum" mechanic that speeds up its attack animations as time goes on.
How would this work on a stalker? I mean stalkers are supposed to have a more staggered attack style (Cough USELESS ASSASSIN STRIKE Cough) and that is one of the main reasons they get the cool utility powers replaced with build up.
So Is it pretty safe to assume that Stalkers will not get Titan Weapons?
If that assumption is correct, are they getting something else in exchange? -
Like already said. Stalkers don't do any thing particularly better than the other three melee ATs.
There is a meta of:
Scrapper----------Brute----------Tanker
Damage---------------------------Durabilty
Where does stalker fit in there?
Why play an AT with less durablity and less Burst and Sustained DPS than a scrapper? -
I just don't run it.
No big deal. Kudos to those that do enjoy it though.
I don't see the big deal as there are alternatives here. -
Exactly.
Some people WANT small pets.
Don't blame the devs for your lack of thought. There are pictures of the pets all over the internet. -
Ignite is easily leveraged on quite a few Corruptor builds, I just want to add that.
-
Quote:I mean I will stop incarnating the Mace/Shield and wait for Titan Weapons, and strip down the Mace/Shield once that is available. My first thought that it would not pair with shields since the set requires two hands. Of course, that is just speculation.
I will probably make it SR.
