The changes for Street Justice between Stalker and Scrapper/Tanker/Brute versions:

Instead of Assassin's Strike (which looks a bit weird to me, personally... like a dude flexing his muscles for a bit before swinging with a hook. Should look more like FALCON PUUUUNCH! imo), you get a quick knee to the ribs power. Can't remember what it's called... I think Vital Strike or Blow or something? I think it debuffs the enemy for a short time as well.

Build Up is called something else (Combat Awareness or Readiness or something that ends in "ness") and automatically gives you 3 combo points, so you can immediately open with one of the finishers instead of breaking up your attack chain for it. The Stalker version is just regular Build Up, but AS gives you multiple combo points when it lands (giving it a reason to be put it in a regular attack chain, even).

    Placate is Confront, of course.

The tier 1, 2, 8 and the knee in the ribs power (t6?) all give one combo point to a max of 3 (or at least that's the highest I could build). The tier 3, tier 9 and maybe the tier 7 (which looks like an AoE from Ele's screenshot... I never got above level 3 while testing it) are all "finishers," which drop your combo points back to zero but add additional side effects and/or damage.
    -----

Based on the info, I guess they just can't resist by putting "combo points" in Assassin Strike, which I was hoping they wouldn't do because Assassin Strike is one power that I rarely use after lvl 40s. T_T

I really just don't want any of the features tie to Assassin Strike.
    I SO CALLED IT!

    HAH.

    Never playing streetjustice.

Good luck doing that on a resistance based stalker.

Actually I bet they tied he Combo + to Assassin's Strike not build up on the stalker version.

Which is bad, since AS is such a crappy power.

Just using SOs, I've found that Ninjitsu is as effective - if not moreso - than Super Reflexes, and once you mix in some defensive set bonuses Ninjitsu only gets better. SR is great for softcapping easily, but that's all it has going for it - which is a far cry from "beating [Ninjitsu] in every regard". If you try to survive by turning on all of your toggles and wailing away on attack buttons until you either kill everything or run out of end, then sure - you might feel that Super Reflexes is better. But that's because you're trying to play Ninjitsu as a set that it's not meant to be - you're supposed to use the additional powers to help you out.

By the way, using Blinding Powder (slottable 7.5% -tohit, even ignoring the Confuse and/or Sleep) provides you more effective defense than the passive 5.63% in SR until you get to mobs +3 levels to you (it's 6% at +2). Just some food for thought before you try to make some silly claims about one set "beating the other in every regard".
Now that its settled between Nin and SR, I would like to say:

EA BEATS THEM BOTH IN EVERY REGARD.

    its pretty.
  5. I find I get more rares when my cat sits in my Lap when I run trials.
  6. Which should I do folks?

    Money isn't an issue.

I am trying to understand the pros and cons of each choice.

    Dark/EnM

    Pros:

Boost range + Cardiac= LOL range tenticles
Power Boost = LOL to hit debuff, and Life drain!
Great aoe of dark combines with the Great Single target DPS of energy melee
Dark Tenticles + Bright Pom Poms fits my concept of Good Hero inhabited by a tentacle monster.

    Cons:

Much harder to cap to range.
    No real control.

    Dark/MM

    Pros:

    AoE awesomeness.
    Multi Cone Pwnage
    Regen and End recovery.
    Easier to range cap.

    Cons:

MM doesn't give me the cool pom poms.
AoE incompatiblity (ranged Cones vs PSW PBAOE)
Severe lack of Single target DPS...

Any other pros and cons I am missing between these two set ups?
  7. Or you could buy a copy for 5 bucks cheapskate

I am serious support the magazine so they don't fail.

From Hide or after Placate however, it can't be beat for single-target DPA, provided it's not interrupted. So it will improve an ST chain if you can start with AS from Hide and/or follow Placate with AS.

I assume you don't use AS from Hide or Placate because you're one of those "AoE is everything" people. And what I'm saying is that yeah, AoE is great... except when it's irrelevant. And it's irrelevant when there's enough to kill minions and LTs but not bosses (unless the entire spawn is bosses or EBs or something, which does happen sometimes).
No I am talking single target. Since the Hidden CS BU recharge buff I never use AS anymore, and only use it solo when I feel the need to throw a Hadoken.

Stopping mid attack chain to placate-AS kills DPS. God forbid if you aren't softcapped.
  9. Go stalkers!

(Tries to placate but it fails)....

    *Runs away.*
  10. 20-40 I think...

I meant to say 20s I just jammed the proc, and whatever 3 other kinetic combat's I could find to get the Smash/Lethal defense bonus.

AS isn't even on my main 3 power trays.

I don't think i can find a situation where my KM would do more damage over time including AS in the attack chain. Now if you are playing Elec melee or spines, I am sure you could just barely find a boost (if you aren't interruped).
  11. Why doesn't tyrant use nuclear weapons on the primals.

    I sure as hell would.
  12. Did you think about primaries?

I farm tickets on my Plant/Earth/Mace dom. I do not have any addtional aoe from the epic sets.

Most of my AoE damage comes from plant and I burn through ticket farms in no itme.
  13. Of course its not useless.

But imo its the worst attack in most of the melee sets.

Definately not the optimal thing to open with on Kinetic melee when you min max it. I Don't ever use it unless I am mentally saying: SHINKU-HADOKEN.

But its really great for level 15 kinetic combat!

    Exacty.

If you incarnate your stalker, you better be a defense based one.

Blaze Mastery is an exception to all of the above. ALL of its damage dealing powers, including the controls can crit in and out of Hide. And the AoE crits for full damage.

At least this is all according to City of Data which was updated fairly recently. I don't have personal experience with all of the PPP and APP sets for Stalkers.
    The answer is very simple.

The devs did a half ***** job porting the APPs to stalkers.
And can't be bothered to fix things in an AT that is pretty much dead.

    (LOL PLACATE BUG).

There is no other explaination that covers the outcome.
  16. Why all this talk about Assassin Strike?

It is best used as a set mule (level 15 Kinetic combat ftw).
The only reason I keep it on my powertray in my KM/EA unlimited budget build is because its a Hadoken.
  17. Test_Rat

    AS-Less Stalker

All of the villian PPPs crit out of hide.
  18. I don't think this will do much good.

Besides, you are looking at powers in a vacumn.
You have to look at the sets as a whole.

    AS-Less Stalker

    I would never drop AS!!!

It's a great place for level 15 kinetic combat on my EA stalker!!

Kidding aside, assassin strike is only good for set bonuses.
I only keep it on my tray for when I exemplar into the sub teens.

Anyone who says they use AS more than any other attack has a seriously sub optimal play style, and probably contributes to the (somewhat deserved) notion stalkers are the weakest AT.
  20. I will do you guys a favor and post my Current KM/EA build when i get home.

Its a rather expensive buid, but its softcapped to All but Psi, has Permahasten (Planning on dropping this come 21) and has 5 Unused slots.

I skip overload since I am softcapped, and my HP is capped via Accolades.

As for the Psi hole, I have 25% ranged defense. If I face Psi enemies and I can't kill them fast enough, I just pop a single luck, to bolster that ranged def up to near softcap levels.
