Quote:Dude lift still does its damage regardless of whether the mob moves or not.please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong ....
I find I use crushing field (immob)quite a bit - it cycles up quicky to use on multiple mobs... However - as it has a -fly component (which is different from other sets which have their -fly in their hold). This makes "Lift" ineffective as it doesn't actually lift immobilized foes - no damage done.
I find lift totally incompatible with gravity immobs and never use it
Did I miss something ?
PS - don't make it too good as I'd hate to see too many Grav controllers - I like not ever being FOM -
Check known issues.

Seeing as Ice needs to rely so much on ice slick...
Why does Ice control have -KB in its aoe immobilze?
This never made sense to me?
Is it a legacy of its original design before it was buffed (if it ever was...)? -
What is the recharge on afterburner again?
I realize now that I can substitute it for stealth in my build, since I was just using stealth as a Mule power for a LOTG. -
Why not go Traps/Fire, softcap to all vectors and types, get a resist shield, Possibly get Force of Nature too, and do it for cheaper?
Oh against a single target your will outdamage a corruptor, and always be safer due to the superior -damage/-to hit debuffs/-rech/-movement debuffs that a defender offers. -
I agree with Control and Ranged.
The only real outliers are /elec assault, and /Earth assault, having more melee than ranged. But overal a dom can do its job from range quite fine. -
Just to be clear. I 4 slot my AS with Kinetic combat.
As I use the Concentrated Strike Hidden Build Up refresh feature heavily on my KM/EA, I don't use Assassins strike at all. I just mule it for the bonus, and low level exemplar play.
If AS is something you plan on using Siolfir gives more suitable slotting advice. -
Quote:Lets face it: Single target Burst damage is of little value in CoX these days.I know a number of experienced melee players who have said on the forums that they dropped AS. EvilGeko is the one that I remember off the top of my head. I'd say it depends what you're playing. I wouldn't drop it from my Spines/Nin because I want the ST damage for soloing. On the DM/Nin that I'm leveling now... it's certainly a possibility once I'm up to 50.
Edit: I agree that given the fast-paced way the gameplay has evolved AS is clunky at best and worse than useless at worst.
What I recommend is that where a Stalker and Scrapper share a powerset combo, go with the scrapper version.
More damage, more HP, and you can mimic hide with an IO.
The only possible exception is kinetic melee due to the unique Build up refresh from a hidden state concentrated strike feature. -
I don't expect Street Justice for a couple of weeks. Maybe november.

Don't put Hecatomb in your AS.
Put hecatomb in an attack you will be using often to make use of the 33% proc rate.
I would minmally slot AS as its a extremely situatonal power.
(My Stalker is EA, so i put a set of 30 Kinetic Combat in there.) -
I just want to say:
Mids is 90% of the reason why I stay subscribed to City of Heroes.
You make tweaking and changing builds so easy, and help foster the Invention origin meta game for me. A metagame that keeps me interested in the game.
Paragon Studios should be giving you kudos, because your free software supports thier product. -
Quote:Do you have a link or is the source the same origin as your detailed EA IA analysis? It has been hinted that it is being looked at.
Rejoice AR and Energy users!
Anyway, I like my Energy Assault Dom. If my use of Power Push annoys you,
there are other mobs for you to target. -
Brandx, I think your change would surely make Time OP at that point.
-
Yeah I am done, this is a waste of time as its not a discussion, its me talking and getting a response of:
NUH-UH.
Enjoy your Ice Armor stalker. -
I wonder who would win in a race:
Time Vs Traps against Malta.
People who say playing traps takes Time, Positioning, and Planning are NOT playing the set correctly. Its a bloody fact.
Deploy seekers, drop PGT, Optionally drop Acid mortor/Caltorps, eliminate the spawn. Move on.
Yes I have positional tools, and I only get more potent if in a stationary fight but I in no way need to stack them.
I will accept Time is practically idiot proof, Traps requires a good player (which there seems to be few of remaining).
EDIT: I would say Traps, and Storm are the two sets that in then hands of newbs are less than impressive, but in the hands of expert players can outperform all the other sets. -
OH I didn't factor in the "fun" of being able to bug indoor missions at will with Force Bubble.
Never mind then!
I know people roll stuff for concept... but i mean come on Force Field is rather sad. -
I have been wondering this for quite some time now:
What is the positives of Force Field that would make someone choose it over Time Manipuation?
Seeing as Time Manipuation can apply the same(SUPERIOR??!?!?!?) benefit that force field to its teamates with the sole exception of the mez protection bubble, AND deliver a full suite of buffs and debuffs on top of that...
Force Field is looking pretty sad.
I just am trying to understand what the point of the set is now. -
Quote:Traps has greater -To Hit and -Damage via Layered Seekers. If you're saying the Power Build Up -> FarSight combo, when then yeah, but then you're limited on your Epic.
Outside of using that combo, Time and Traps are the same at softcapping defenses.
Time will likely be safer having a -tohit toggle, while Traps has WAY WAY more offense with way higher -regen.
Don't forget how long that debuff lasts, and I have no problem hitting entire groups with it...
Not to mention making a Pylon hit me for double digits lol. -
Quote:Look, you are heavily biased against EA for some reason.I am long time (ex) EA player, and if you skip Overload you might as well not play /EA. Since we are also discussing Overload, it also grants +recovery, so that is another reason why Energy Drain is superfluous. I think Energy Armor's Energy Drain should truly be a sapping tool because EA doesn't really need the defense from Energy Drain like IA does.
IA has Icy Bastion, which really a lot of people discount and far more important to reduce the recharge on than Hoarfrost.
Regen stalkers are hurt the most because of the low HP caps.
I have two EA builds:
The currrent one which has 50%+ Defense to all but Negative (45%) and Psi (reduced a bit with 20% ranged defense and a luck). And has 117.5% global recharge (I dropped hasten once Spirtual Alpha T4 was obtained). This build can perma Double stack Energy Drain to get to or near the Incarnate softcap.
This build does not have overload, because 1) I can incarnate softcap my defense already. 2) My HP is capped due to accolades and set bonuses.
I should mention I have quite a bit of Regeneration due to set bonuses+ Perma Energize too.
My fallback build: is the same exact build as above, but with 107.5% recharge, and the inclusion of Overload ( I also have to shift from Pyre Mastery to Mu Mastery, but my theme can handle this). I have pretty damn incredible UP/Down ratio on overload and guess what? NO CRASH due to accolade powers.
I solo this stalker at +2x8 for normal play, but I can handle +4x8 no problem.
I am very happy with it.
I really hope Ice Armor works out for you, but you seem to be selling it based on what you think or feel. I have built a fully purpled out KM/IA toon during beta, and while I was quite happy with what I could do with it, there ARE major decisions that have to be made: Softcap vs Recharge bonuses for one.
I didn't have mids so I am sure I could do better, but it is extremely hard to get that magic 30 Up/90 down time on Icy Bastion.
EDIT: Oh Energy drain does sap pretty much as well as elec armor stalkers sap.... but you hate elec armor stalkers too don't you (even though they can be built to be very survivable). -

KM is great. The single aoe crits 100% from hide. makes all the difference.
That combined witht he BU recharge from hidden state is fantastic. -
It only hits 5 targets, and the FX are god awful.
Not to mention it interferes with placate crits. -
-
Hm...I am siting on a pile of these. Time to assess my pile.
-
Enough with the melee gosh darn it.
Give me a new control set?
Give me a new Assault set?
Give me a new ranged set?
Please?
