I wondered why they didn't use the stasis pods last episode when they went through the blue giant. That seemed like a better option than clothing shopping on a world over run by drones.

Not impossible. The big beast of a game has exactly an app that lets you do that and they charge you extra to use the web or app to run the market. Of course to use it Paragon Studios would have to get the game to web interface for character information working. It has come and gone from the indevelopment list several times over the last 7 years.

Quote:Yep thats my problem with PSN. I bought 1 Ratchet & Clank Mini game in 09 and that is it for my PSN purchases. It was at least four years ago, probably longer, but I'm not sure. Finding single charges in years of statement pages is not something I'd rather do. And since I'm not sure what card it was, I'd have to go through them all.

What I found interesting about the two lists is that COH is holding on at number 10 fairly solidly. Hmm, bet it picks up some subscribers from this mess since people who maybe hadn't been aware of COH might have tried another super hero game that is offline and now will bounce over here to get their super hero fix.

I don't think Peter vaporized. I think instead he is caught in a closed loop of time. See if he never was then the fix he just put in place wouldn't still be there nor would the machine. So what we have here is that the actor on events was removed from the time stream but not destroyed. He still exists and I'm guessing he can be pulled back out of the loop.

Quote:The problem would have existed even without that trip. All the testing Walter and William did created the initial damage. The trip to try and deliver the cure to Peter and his subsequent taking merely accelerated the breakdown.I', generally a just sit back and enjoy it type and don't get too into nitpicking such things...
But doesn't the fact that Peter never existed also mean the problem never would have started in the first place since the problem was caused by Walter bringing him over?
If I was going to guess how they'd bring Peter back it would be by this angle...
Walternate simply went on as he did before justifying his actions based on doing the best good without the added justification that he was punishing the universe that stole his son. We have seen that aspect in Walter it is something that he had the potential for and changed with the damage to his mind. The loop closes leaving the machine and the patch in place at the cost of Peter being trapped in the closed loop.
Hmm, does this mean it might be possible to pull him out of the closed loop? -
Quote:Very interesting episode.Neat episode and really good cliffhanger.
Thoughts...
Astrid with straight hair is very attractive.
John Noble is a damn good actor. Goes from playing an apparent stroke victim to an amoral sociopath.
Piter de Vries as a nutball terrorist.
Ella(?) caught me by surprise. Thought it was someone impersonating Olivia at first.
Olivia as an out-and-out teke. At first, thought it was someone wearing some form of optical camoflauge.
And finally, we get the classic paradox in sending something back in time. No one actually "made" it. It just always was.
Impressively they could end the series there though I'm really happy to see that it has been renewed for a 4th season and will be back.
Now the question is how are to going to resolve that small minor cliff hanger at the end? After all it has always been. -
Quote:Hopefully soon?So when is the network coming back? It's been down for almost 2 weeks. I'm going thru some serious CoD withdrawals. (begins shaking.)
But in reality I expect it to be when they feel confident that they plugged what ever security hole the hacker used to get into their network. And apparently it is something in their core security software that was vulnerable because they took down the entire PC online game side due to shared security code between the two systems. -
From what I was reading is is more that the internal security uses a lot of shared code between the PSN and PC gaming sites. They aren't certain that the PC side was hacked aside from one database of info from 2007 that mainly contains Non US information and apparently about 13,000 credit cards.
The main reason for the shutdown of it all is their investigation/fixing of things since they need the PC side down to fix the vulnerable code. ::shrug::
Believe them or not but that is what I got from digging around. It is strange and bemusing and suddenly I"m very glad for my obsessive using of different email addresses and passwords and even account names from game to game to game. -
It looks like all of Sony's online games are down right now. Even the home pages for the games all redirect to the Sony Security warning.

One minute or never.
Basically it is random each and every time there is a drop and if the random number generator gods hate you then you won't get one until it drops.
Some people roll in multiples and others wish that could see even one. -
I'm thinking that there are two parallel time lines now. The Doctor's idle question to Rory about his remember wasn't so idle I think. And the answer was very illuminating. That sometimes he could remember and sometimes he didn't, like a door in his mind.
Wasn't that a prison on the other side of Amy's wall? What if the silence whispered to her a lot so that she freed them when the universe was reborn from her memory?
Over all an interesting episode and a lot of interesting setup. I also suspect the child links to River Song somehow. -
Quote:Exactly Super Strength without an increase in toughness to accommodate it is like immortality without stopping aging. who wants to be a 250 year decrepit person who only gets worse the older you get? It's called a Required Secondary Power. Super strength without an increased toughness level (by no means automatically granted with super strength) would be useless. Or worse than useless. However, if it's a magically granted super strength, it doesn't need to follow the rules of physics and biology.

Quote:Makes me think of a player in a D&D game who wished for 1,000,000 gold that was indisputably his, and secured so only he had access to it. The GM said, "Granted." and then smiled.Or say you wished to have 10 quadrillion dollars. Is that American dollars? Zimbabwean dollars? Is that money obtained legitimately? Are you going to have the tax man or various cartels knocking on your door for their disappeared loot? Again, intent is "understood", but without specifying intent of the wish be granted as well, you get screwed.
You note he didn't actually ask for it to be in his presence or to know where it was. So somewhere in the world was 1,000,000 gold that was indisputably his and secured so only he could access it. If he could find it. -
Shapeshifting. Though I wouldn't argue with the ability to shapeshift myself and anything I am in contact with. That would be a rather rad power.
A useless power that would be amusing. Turning others into cat girls for an hour. -

And aren't I glad that I used a unique PS3 only password for that login.

I'm guessing they still aren't using the Destiny's systems that efficiently. I expect that the ships sensors did see the black hole but no one checked correctly for it or even thought to check the right settings.

Hudson Hawk - God I love that movie.
Event Horizon - I love the visuals in it and can watch that all day. The plot... eh, but oh the visuals. -
Wow I'm glad I read that. I hadn't realized that they had moved Sanctuary. I was just in time to go set my recording to start in an hour and to remove the setting on "Urban Legands?" That seems to have taken its slot on Friday night.
Why would I want to watch a show called "urban legends" and what is a show called that anyway? -
Quote:Yes it generally requires something exceptional to allow a Time Lord to interfere with his/her own timeline. They do at least did, no Time Lord is allowed to enter a time span and location vicinity his past self is currently in, exceptions are usually due to a weird time misshap, use of a time scoop, and the Pandorica box.
I rather expect that this sort of thing is what The Doctor is setting up here. And yes I think the older Doctor is playing them all for some greater scheme. -
Quote:If I had to guess it is that once canceled the producers stopped trying to make the show that scyfy wanted and make it the way they wanted. In both SGU and Caprica the episodes that aired after these shows were canceled were far more interesting and promising than the vast majority of episodes that preceded them. I think the writers and producers finally realized what their audiences wanted, but by then it was too late.
I'm guessing that someone in scyfy programming is all into the angst driven story line and thinks that is what is popular. And they don't realize that shows need characters for the audience to connect with. -
Quote:Well sadly the first year and a half of SGU is pretty much forgettable.I have never liked/gotten into SGU. It just lacks what SG1 and Atlantis had, they made it into a Soap Opera Drama in space. Its the same mistake they made with the new Battlestar.
But damn starting about 6 episodes ago it started rolling out episodes that are exactly what the show should have been from the beginning.
Sadly that doesn't excuse that first 1.5 years worth of episodes that either suck or borderline suck. -
Quote:Well then it is good you used your luck for important things. Not a problem. I'm just surprised that I was lucky for two weeks in a row to find the necessary scenes online when they were needed to confirm what happened. Of course this probably means my luck is screwed for the next 5 years. Oh well.

Now if it was a nice wool cloak and not cape. ... That might be nice, though really there is a reason the great coat replaced cloaks after carriages and cars started to be popular.
I man have you ever tried to drive in a full circle cloak?
